Have u got the rear parcel shelf? Interested in this and the steering wheel.
-
I thought of that already, but unfortunately the legislation *does* specify the size of the plates. You could always play dumb and do the "sorry officer, I didn't know" routine, but I doubt that's going to get you off more than once.
-
Hmmm..... I'm almost tempted to just transfer my premium plates across from the MX-5. Less of a target, and more importantly, more airflow to the intercooler! Decisions decisions......
-
OK how about this question: Do the authorities target cars with any form of personalised plates? I currently have a set of premium plates on my MX-5 with some nice lucky numbers (superstitious asian stuff). I can simply transfer these across to my GTR if this is going to be an issue. I did get a nice set of plates for the GTR tho, something related to "RB26"

2 week bump. My GTR is here and has been complied, waiting on plates from Transport SA. 12 sec qtr's here we come -
I received the actual legislation for this today as well. Pretty much what you've found on the website. So now we all *know* it's illegal, but is it worth taking the risk to do it? What are the ramifications of a Traffic Infringement notice? Fine? Demerit points?? Defect and Regency inspection?

Bugger, there goes that idea then. Anybody else with experiences?

Hey guys, I'm organising some number plates for my freshly complianced R32GTR. I'm getting some standard sized plates, but was wondering if anyone know what the legalities were concerning stick on plates for the front? I've seen cars with the stick on's driving around, and think it would be a good idea so I don't block airflow to the intercooler. I also don't want to be drilling holes in my bumper. If anyone has any (reliable) information about this, that'd be great. I've requested a copy of the number plate legislation from Transport SA, but I'd be really keen to know from ppl who have the stick on's if you've been hassled by the cops etc. Cheers, Alan

Strut Bar Front And Rear For R32
chalon replied to MerlinTheHapyPig's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
What are they made out of? Weight? I'd be interested in the rear if lunaticR32 drops out, and it'll fit an R32 GTR. -

Hmm, forums have killed all my subscribed threads. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give that a go! Cheers, Alan

Hey guys, My freshly imported R32 GTR has a faulty front left indicator. So I took it out to check for the globe - which seemed fine. Problem was one of the wires had become disconnected from the electrical plug that goes into the indicator unit. Most likely corroded with age etc. Anyway, I tried to strip the end of the wire off to try and connect it back up again, but there's just not enough wire to work with What should I do with it? Take it to auto electrician? Or would it be cheaper for me to try and buy a second hand plug with enough wire for me to play with? Not sure if these plugs are generic, or model specific. Would appreciate any suggestions. Cheers, Alan

Thanks guys. It wasn't a big deal; more for novelty factor than anything. I'm probably going to ditch the Mine's ECU for a power FC anyway hahaha
-
Umm, that doesn't really tell me anything I don't know dude. Thanks for the attempt anyway. I was probably trying to get at the plaque on the ECU - does anybody else with a Mine's ECU have this metal plaque? If not, then it'd be pretty safe to say that it would be a Mine's tuned car in one of their garages....... Cheers, Alan

bumparoonies Nobody's got any idea?

Hey guys, Just wondering if anybody knows how to tell if a GTR has been tuned/modified by a Mine's workshop? My GTR just arrived. It is modified with: HKS GT2530's Adjustable suspension 17" AVS Type 5's Full Mine's exhaust system including cat back and front/dump pipes Mine's replacement boost guage in the centre console Mine's ECU extra guages possibly cams oil cooler injectors Z32 AFM's Trust drag spec front mount The Mine's ECU actually has a plaque on it - not a sticker, but a small metal plaque, and it's also numbered. It'd be really cool bragging rights to own a Mine's modified car, so how do u tell guys? Cheers, Alan

The cost depends on the mods u have as well - some will need to be removed and refitted for the Regency run. Also the fact that you have a 4 door means u will need an extra set of side intrusion bars for the rear? Most ppl suggest PVP and Best Enterprises. Ring both for a quote and see how u go. If u can do arrange it, take it to them so they can give u a better idea.
-
PVP Imports is very good, Mullers Rd Greenacres. Also Best Enterprises. Try searching the forums, I think this has been asked a fair few times.

Just got my R32 GTR serviced by Will yesterday, fresh off the boat. Did oil, oil filter, sparkies, and flushed radiator. Will takes time and care with your car, he's not out to get as many ppl thru the door as possible to make more money like a lot of workshops. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services to anyone!

I picked up my GTR on Tuesday, nothing missing. All good! In fact it came with a few extra goodies I didn't know about! :jump:

High Quality Oil Cooler Kit
chalon replied to gtrGhosTDoGG11's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Yes, sorry I found out my GTR has an oil cooler already, along with a couple of extra goodies Bump for a nice oil cooler. -
Thanks for your responses guys! I don't mind getting a tow, but a friend who tried to get his MR-2 towed got refused because the tow truck driver didn't think he could do it without damaging his (stock) front bumper. I just wanted to check if it's relatively safe to drive it back from the docks if that was the only option I had. I certainly would be driving it slowly and safely in order to avoid any damage. It's probably a bit over the top to do an oil & filter change on the spot, so I will most likely check fluid levels etc. make sure everything checks out OK then drive it very sedately home. I can't wait

Hey everyone, I've just found out my R32 GTR has just cleared customs in Brisbane and will be delivered to the Seaway depot in Adelaide in about a week. My question is: what's the best way to get the car from the depot to your house? Have people just driven them there (with temp permit etc.)? I'm worried that the car hasn't been driven for a good 6 months and I'll do damage to it with old fluids in there etc. It's also likely the battery's dead. If I were to change the oil & filter, and jump start it, would that be safe to drive home? Driven very safely of course. Otherwise I'll just organise a tow and hope they don't kill my front bumper! Cheers, Alan

High Quality Oil Cooler Kit
chalon replied to gtrGhosTDoGG11's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm not sure if the GTR I've got on the way has an oil cooler or not - not listed, and I can't tell for sure from the pics. I'll take it if my GTR doesn't have one; it should be here in a week or two. Cheers, Alan
