  1. Anyone, Could I please get your feedback on the Jaycar Fuel and air adjuster. I explored one of the threads that mentioned the jaycar system and it was intresting. jaycar.com.au go to Kits and Modules and Auto and you will find it at the bottom of the page. You have to purchase the hand controller. I would like to get feedback from anyone who has actually installed the Jaycar system in their skyline Turbo. what I want to know, should I pay for a cheap alternative or go for the SAFCII or the E-Manage expensive allternative just to alter my fuel and air. I appreciate your help chris G
  2. From memory Heasmanns are on the corner of Sydenham Road and Princess Highway Sydenham next to the traffic lights as you turn left onto Princess Highway.
  3. Thanks for this info, I will be looking for an electronic boost controller within the Sydney region. I got rid oy my first boost controller as a result of it not boosting, now this one boosts but it won't keep the power on 14lb, the car feels as if it is struggling to keep 14lb, like it's been held back as you are powering it on, no back firing. One of my WRX mates told me to buy an electronic boost controller and i thought he was talking "Gibberish". I know now. I will try this idea out, Thanks
  4. I do have a boost gauge, he even put his one on and he said it's not holding 14lb, he offered to get me a piggyback system installed for $700. I also read other threads about getting the bigger fuel pump. The car before the service when i drove it slightly hard wouldn't spin, now i take off and drive it hard in 1st the thing screams. But it wont hold the boost, it feels as it is jerking up high revs.
  5. Would anyone know what is happening? I just got a monster intercooler professionally installed. When I up the boost to 14lb the car feels like it won't run the 14lb. My mechanic claims the car is not holding the boost, he also said he had another 2.5ltr GTS, was holding 14lb boost. The same mods, 3inch exhaust, panel filter and the 800 x 300 x 76mm intercooler. He suggested that I get a piggyback system for about $700 and he would have it installed, just for fuel. What if I get a bigger fuel pump, could this solve the problem. Has anyone had this problem before and what did you do to fix the problem, any tips. Any suggestions. :whip:
  6. .Like i said in my previous message, Im new to this and i was going to install the intercooler myself over my 6wks holidays. Would it be suitable for a R33, If it is I am interested. Do you still have the piping and if so were can i send the money. chris
  7. All this info is mind blowing, You really know your stuff. I recently bought a skyline from the Vic boarder and drove it to Syd. Excellent car compared to what i used to have, VR SS Commodore. Im thinking of getting a front mount intercooler over my holidays but I saw on EBAY a Greddy trust Emanage ECU for around $450 and APEXI S-AFC II Digital super vafc for about $430. Firstly as you know your stuff, which is a better system and would i get any noticable increases in power from my R33. Its those rex's in my area that is starting to agravate me. I have no time for them. cg :ufo:
  8. Reading all this info is pretty overwellming, I've had a look on EBAY and found the following items for sale: * Greddy Trust Emanage ECU $449 and * APEXI S-AFC II Digital Super VAFC $429. Would these systems be OK for a RB25 Skyline, The feedback would be appreciated. CG Sydney
  9. I’m new to this, I’m in the process of installing an intercooler to my R33 but I would like to use the original piping from the Turbo. I was going to look at the hardware stores for some piping, maybe alloy, do you think this is a good choice. Next can I use joiners on both ends of the intercooler and both ends of the piping from the motor or does it have to be welded, I don’t know. I am going to do this over my holiday were I can work on the car. Some feedback would be appreciated Chris G :flamed:
  10. Hi, Reading your responses to installing a front mount intercooler, I've been thinking on doing the same thing to my R33 instead of cutting holes. Could you please let me know if there are any problems in regards to performance by using the original piping and can I use alternative piping? My Skyline has minor mods like 3"inch exhaust, K& N square Filter and a boost controller set at 9lb boost. Some threads I've read claim the R33 pumps about 187kilowatt. If I install a front mount intercooler would I be right in saying it could be pumping about 220kwt and what would this do the motor. I appreciate your feedback, Chris G Sydney.
  11. Thanks for that, No I haven’t taken the dash out it looks complicated, I'm worried that I might wreck the dash when putting it back again. What suburb are you at I'm at Campsie. I'm a shift worker and on my days off I’m pretty stuffed so I sleep most of the day. Thanks for the offer maybe on my holidays when I will have plenty of time. For now I have switched the climate control off via the car battery. cheers
  12. I am interested, how will it cost to sort this problem out.
  13. Has anyone had problems with the OFF button and the AUTO button on the climate control in the SKYLINE's. My OFF and AUTO buttons to the climate control don't work, I can't turn the system off. It appears the button has come loose, how can I fix this. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix this problem. I can't see replacing the entire module just for the OFF and AUTO buttons. I would like to hear. Thanks Chris, Sydney :flamed: :flamed: :flamed: :flamed: :flamed: :flamed:
  14. Is their a way of getting another chip to boost power or do i need to buy a system like Wolf 3D to increase power. When i used to drive V8 Commodores i had the thing chipped to push 200kw (lump of S#$t) could i do it with the Skyline or do i go and buy intercoolers etc. thanks Chris G
  15. Thanks for your detailed reply, I took the non original boost controller off and placed the original boost controller back on which pushes 7lb and the problem is gone. However, on the weekend i will check the hoses on the fast bits boost controller and try to shorten them so i dont get bends or i can turn down the boost to 8Lb instead of 9lb. I will also look at the other things that you explained. Thanks Chris G
  16. My boost gauge reads 9lb, i dont get no spikes. I recently had Turbomaster it was bad, spiked a lot now I bought GF fast bits, no spikes. I will have a look to see if the hoses are bent. During the week the car sits in the driveway as i am a shift worker. I had the car since January and only done 4000klm. Im only running standard intercooler, if i get a large front mount intercooler will i notice a difference when racing WRX's. Also my plugs haven't been altered for the 9lb. Could this be the problem. chris
  17. The boost guage is in the engine bay, as I was pulling away from the WRX and the Skyline hit 5000rpm that when I got power loss, like it wanted to back fire as i was accelerating.
  18. Could some one help? I was driving in Sydney in my Skyline R33 when I was at the lights with a WRX. We both gave it until my Skyline R33 pushing 9lb just over 5000rpm started to get a jerking feeling as the harder I accelerated it didn’t want to go any further. It felt as if I was loosing power after 5000rpm. Has anyone had this problem, my vehicle is standard just a boost controller set at 9lb. thanks Chris SYDNEY
  19. I have recently purchased this Skyline and decided to follow these simple instructions. The Skyline had an adjustable boost control and either way I turned it to Positive or Negative it had the same boost Max 9lb. Being new to the Skyline movement from the humble SS Commodore, I have been converted. However, not being a mechanic I placed all the hoses after removing the boost controller back to the standard solenoid and re-wired the white wire to the body of the car. I then tested the theory by taking the car for a spin around the block and it spiked to 20lb boost, it scared the S@#@ out of me because the Skyline backfired and I thought I blew the turbo, it was only for a split second then i backed off straight away. I got back home and found the hoses were in the wrong position. . Now the car is pushing 7 - 8lb and it is smooth. Could someone please tell me what the hell I did wrong. Have i damaged anything that will haunt me later. Im good with V8's but not with these TURBOS. . Chris , Sydney. :flamed:  :Bang:
  20. Could anyone tell me if i can remove the clear lense cover from the Skyline headlights and how. Chris Sydney :Bang:
