  1. yeah i'll borrow the mini from now on! i'm sure i can get a better quote for the work too, i'm just looking for who best to speak too if bumper bars are covered by ADR's, does that mean i can sue the engineer who signed off on my car for negligence? (i'm a law student but i haven't covered stuff like this yet)
  2. a proper bumper is attached to the chassis properly, with a metal brace behind it... that absorbs a lot of impact through crumpling the aftermarket one i had was attached to pretty much nothing but some supports at the front at the sides and it snapped like a twig on impact. when i was clearing it off the road afterwards i could snap it with one hand to fit it into my boot. Keep your original body kits ppl
  3. well i definitely don't intend on starting an 8k repair the problem is i've only got about 4k i can spare to get the thing repaired. If i can't get it on the road for that (i.e. ignore things like painting panels etc) then I'm going to have to look at other options like selling it. From what i've been told the engine is completely fine other than what i mentions, but i haven't got a clue about the chassis infront of the doors. The guy said it would be 4k in labour alone, which i find shockingly huge. How much could i expect if i sold the car as is?
  4. no, the car is not under finance...
  5. Nope not comprehensively insured. At $5500 + $850 excess you never really think its worth it. Market value wouldn't be more than 15-16k
  6. **UPDATE It's not necessarily over. Things aren't as bad as I thought, the chassis seems to be fine... Wednesday night I managed to smash my car. I wasn't speeding at all, I just miscalculated the effect of the drizzle and lost rear wheel traction a bit too close to a parked car. The impact occured on the left and the car sort of span around against the second car which is written off because it was next to a power pole (and it was a shitbox anyway) I don't think it would have been as bad if i had a proper front bar because of the bits of metal they cut out of the supports. The impact occured at about 20km/h but it still managed to do some serious enough damage. The lesson: watch those aftermarket body kits, they don't offer any protection if you cut bits out to fit them The car is now at a panel beater and I will decide what to do once I get quotes on labour and parts Pics of the aftermath found at http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~lymax/accident/
  7. mission accepted
  8. wardest, i might be up for taking that wing off ya hands... just have to respray it blue
  9. but i'm not getting involved it could be fun watching tho
  10. i don't really know, i mean i'm not planning to enter my car simply because its got nothing to warrant entry... As was said before, the whole point of an event like AutoSalon is to display cars that are actually a bit different or special. If you want to see stock (or basically stock) vehicles go to the motor show.
  11. horus... save the energy for the cops
  12. Never mind i did a search... too hard to tune is the boost controller any good?
  13. how do u tune the mine's ecu's then, and how do they compare with say a Power FC?
  14. hey its not like u ever drive anyway chop, ure always on the computer whoring on the forum
  15. i get 400-420 only if i've been driving slowly for 95% of the time. and yeah as franks said, parking on a slope can put the gauge off, up to 1/2 a notch i've noticed
  16. Whoah... calm down children I don't think this is the place for personal vendettas. ApacheX, I don't think most of the skylines around warrant entry into AutoSalon so chances are there won't be enough to enter as a Skyline thing But I could be wrong. Lets see if anyone actually definitely puts there hand up to go
  17. it gets that way chop... have u been hammering it again?
  18. hahah you old fart al j/k mate
  19. Al, piked = pulled out! lol

  21. hey al thanks mate, hope i didn't mess u around too much
  22. ok cool i'm 95% when do you have to know by? Also, with the group buy on Car Audio Australia, how come he can get em for $310? Surely you can do some more bargaining Al And Finally, I don't know that much about car audio, but if you bridge 2 channels to run a sub, can u run a 2 ohm sub or will it blow the thing (or someone set me straight)
  23. Hey can I still put my name down for an amp?
