  1. I've seen your dyno graph on the 350z forums - 195 is still a decent output. It must pull considerably harder. I note there's been a little bit of talk about the Osiris flash upgrades http://secure.uprev.com/osiris-engine-mana...osiris-standard. They look great, but I don't think anyone has any experience locally. It looks like a great option, even if just to raise the rev limiter, remove the speed limiter and fix the throttle. By the looks of it a decent exhaust and a plenum spacer probably give the best bang for buck for bolt ons...
  2. Thanks for the detailed reply, Alan. I don't suppose you know of anyone in Melbourne who does the reflash as well? And cost (PM if you prefer)? Only gained 10rwkw with all those mods and the reflash? I would have expected more. It really is super hard to wring out the extra power on these engines without going for FI. Yes, from what I've read the MREV2 is only for the 221kW engine. Why did you go for it instead of just a plenum spacer, like the Motordyne 5/6" or 1/2"? According to the reviews I've read, thos increase power right through the rev range including the top end and provide a 10-14hp increase on their own, not to mention keeping the intake nice and cool. Yes, I wouldn't be revving higher than 7200RPM on the stock gudgeons. A new set of pistons would really be in order for those sorts of speeds.
  3. Has anyone here with an early model V35 had experience with rev limiter/ECU mods like this one: http://www.6mt.net/forum/performance-mods/...flash-what.html? Obviously that is an American product, but is there something similar for the Japanese version? I for one would be super keen on raising the rev limiter on my coupe to 7100rpm. According to my gearing and power calc estimates, we would benefit from the higher rev limit in every gear, and that is not taking to account the extra top end power which may be released with the remapped throttle. The higher rev limiter doesn't seem to affect reliability either from what I have read. Any thoughts or experiences?
  4. On the fuel consumption screen, press up until the box in the middle of the screen turns yellow ("RISETO") and click the d-pad.
  5. It's a 75.7L (or 20.0 Gallon) fuel tank in the V35 coupe. The emergency reserve is about 8L. I filled up 70.5L last night having driven on "---" km remaining for about 15km.
  6. Any pics of the skirts on the car?
  7. I reset it after every fill up, Rianto. Normal city average is 6.4-6.5km/L. I do about 200km per week in heavy traffic.
  8. I'm averaging 6.4 km/L in the city (I do the punt road/hoddle st crawl both directions every day) - shocking I know. However I managed to average 13.4 km/L from Phillip Island to Warrigal Road on the South Eastern!
  9. +1
  10. I hate Halo 3 because I get my butt kicked but I'll give you a game anyway.
  11. Fanboy!... and hilarious in light of what was just said above by Ni.
  12. I could have used you last night @ MSAC - we lost 3 of our starting five, and went down to a team of assclowns by four points that we would have killed otherwise :@
  13. The New Xbox Experience also lets you install games to the hard drive, so that advantage is taken away. Many PS3 fanboys constantly use the "potential" argument. The fact is, the console has been out for over two years (not including pre-development time) and it continually fails to live up to it's "potential". There is nothing that can be done game wise on the PS3 that can't be done on the 360 too. I realise I am coming across as a massive 360 fanboy, but the fact is, my previous two consoles were the N64, PS2, so I profess no brand loyalty. I simply pick the best games machine having weighed up the factors, and to me it's pretty clear that the 360 is the pick of the two majors this generation.
  14. The 360 is no slouch in the media playback department either, except for blu-ray of course. Check out this comparison list of the same games on both 360 and PS3... doesn't surprise me one bit. I had the RROD earlier in the year on my day 1 360 and it was returned to me within one week of shipping it out. Hasn't missed a beat since. The issue is all but solved since late 2007.
  15. MaXiMuS007GTR, though I will probably change it soon. Thanks for the directions, Sl!m
  16. I should have thought to check the non-Victoria forums... to think there is a world outside
  17. Raising this from the uninterested dead. Surely some people on here will be getting a shiny new Xbox 360 for Xmas?
  18. There is no Xmas price drop planned for the PS3. The earliest price drop would be in March 2009, but it may not happen as late as the Xmas shopping period next year! Sony are losing too much money still on the consoles (vs Xbox 360 breaking even and Wii being profitable).
  19. Rianto, that the PS3 graphics are better is a misconception. The 360 has a more powerful GPU. Check out the Gamespot graphics comparisons. The PS3 would have the advantage in things like physics calculations, but that has yet to be used for anything really useful (other than folding at home). Don't even get me started on the Wii! It's continued crazy sales figures absolutely astound me. Everyone I know who has one has played it a handful of times and not touched it since. But then again, I am considered a "hardcore" gamer so it is not really aimed at people like me it seems.
  20. Go the Xbox 360... absolutely, without doubt, 100% It is much better value, the newer ones have solved the reliability (RROD) issues and most cross-platform games are proven to look and run better on it (not to mention some absolutely killer exclusives). There are two real benefits of the PS3 that you need to weight up: - Blu-ray - Free online (but xbox live is far superior and so worth it!) You have to make a choice. Do you want it as a movie player or as a games machine? If your main reason behind wanting it is to play games, then definitely get the 360. My gamertag is MaXiMuS007GTR when you want a game!
