by the way, i have no tuner I use, does anyone have reccomendations for a shop / tuner on the north shore? I am in chatswood..

this is what toshi said regarding power increase (i told him my mods): "OK. I will be able to remap chip. I think about 15hp-25 more power." I forgot to mention i also have an aftermart 2.5 exhaust system (not sure about dump pipe, i don't know how to tell)... It was going to cost about $250 with toshi. Including a few runs on dyno. this sounded fair to me. So no one really thinks the remap is worthwhile yet? Interesting! oh and the boost controller is a turboXS high performance boost controller... I found this on it: "HPBC has two (2) boost control mechanisms built into it. One is a ball and spring mechanism for large and coarse boost pressure increases and the other is a bleed valve system for precise boost pressure setting. The ball and spring mechanism keeps pressure out of the wastegate until the preset boost level is reached, significantly reducing wastegate creep and providing quicker turbo spool up." I have not installed any of this gear yet (don't know how) and I was thinking I should do it all at once for the tune to make sure its set right.

ok fellas, I know I have been asking lots of basic questions - (but hey i'm new to this turbo thang...) so heres another one to add to the list. I have bought a bleed valve, a boost gauge and am due to pick up my pod filter today. I have been talking to toshi about getting remapped, and its looking good. So I was wondering, since I will be upping the boost a bit and adding a pod, I would need a dyno tune to make sure I am runnig safe boost right? (and hopefully to check the power increase).. So if i was getting the ecu remapped then I would need a tune for that too correct? So if i got all the bits added to the car and then straight away had it remapped then could I go on dyno for 1 before and after tune? Is it expensive to get a car dyno tuned (is it necessary)? cheers for the newbi help Luke

I'll second that. liverpoo is ghey far and defect town (not that my stockness would bother any of the coppas / rta)... beaches is always a good drive... so is the national park runs, nice toight n twisty roads through beautiful locations with big bbqs / carparks all over the place. there is also lane cove national park which is a lot closer than the big ones, this place has a heap of parking (had a few silvia events there) with bbqs and again nice scenery and no coppas

so as above, looking for some 18's for my cefiro. pattern is 4 x 114.3 I am after the following styles: (dished or not i don't mind) - white rims - white with chromed lip - chrome rims I am not looking for a ultra light (expensive) race wheel set, its just going on my daily. hit me up at luke@rebroken with pics / details / price if you got something like that! cheers luke

fellas I need ideas on white rims. found a set on tempe, damn cheap i did an uberquick photochop onto my ride whaddayareckon? any wheel suggestions (keep in mind i'm not interested in superlight ultra expensive race rims as its a daily driver)...

I rolld past a sweet looking black cef, with the plates CEFFIE or similar tonight on the way back from the gym, was parked on pacific highway near st leonards. Good to know there are other cefs on the north shore!! I slowed right down but no one was in the car so i kept going... is the owner on here?

I have absolutely no idea why that skyline stuff started appearing mid thread--- very odd. to clarify, the cef will be used for neither drifting or strip, it is purely a daily driver. I want a bit more power out of it - mind you i was stoked with the power and acceleration when i got the car a few weeks back, then i got used to it and now I want more. I'm sure most of you know exactly how this feels. ok so I am off to find a - boost gauge - bleed valve - air pod and I will be having a chat with someone about the remapping of the ECU once this is done....

cheers for the replies, Inark, handy stuff mate. but yes it is a stockers auto... so I know I am losing a bit with the auto but its a daily driver in sh*tty city traffic so its been suiting it well.... the tweaked power is for the weekend fun.... ok well the pod is a sure thing, has anyone got a recommendation of the type to buy for easy fitting to the stock airbox unit? so can someone tell me a bit about what a bleed valve does and how it is fitted? the suspension is done, I had it dropped on sports ryder equipment a few weeks ago... cheers luke

hey all, I am the proud owner of a fresh off teh boat cefiro with the RB20DET engine under the hood, it is my first time owning a turbo charged ride (past cars were silvia and supra both NA)... now this engine is almost completely stock apart from a 2.5" exhaust system. What I want to know is what would be the most sensible upgrades to make on this engine to get a bit more punch.... I am not going to be able to fork out thousands in the near future so i am looking for the basic upgrades. So air pod filter and ecu remap have been reccomended by one or two people, but I thought I would get a general concensus from the wider SAU population! Let me know what you think.... If you have a resource online showing someones build up of an RB20 that would be tops too, i did google but didn't get too much success. cheers all! Luke
