  1. Actually,I think you'll find the R32's have a rear rack as well,whereas HR31's do not.

  3. They're not refering ot the cam gears,but the actual CAS thats on the front of the exhaust cam.They may twist that to change the (base) timing.
  4. Hi Maxx.Not sure if these would be suitable for an HR31,as they don't have a rear steering rack,but little rams that move the whole cradle to effect the rear steering,so these metal bushes may kill the HICAS by making the cradle too stiff. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong though.

Or to put another slant on it,just for discussion sake,cause I'm bored,if you stuffed an RB series 6 in there,the stock style front would be better for cooling,as it would allow more air flow to the radiator,as the bay's are pretty full with an RB in there,and hold a bit of heat. I guess you could also say the same for a big front mounted intercooler...

  8. As in the flange on the exhaust manafold? If that's what you mean,then no,there's no difference.

Very nice round town.I had a worked 3 spd auto behind it,with VL stall.Very "zippy" for lack of a better word.Hit the loud pedal,and she was back a gear and of you'd go.Top end wasn't huge,but everything else was pretty much stock,7psi,and no intercooler,so I thought it was pretty respectable. Got 15.1 (and 96mph?) on G-tech,but most of that was cause of the launches! Stand on the brakes and the throttle,get 5 psi on the dial,then hop off the brakes and you're in squat heaven!
  10. FJ20's came with T28s and T3s.RB20's are T28s,and RB25s are more of a T3. I had the stock L20ET ECU running my L24ET,and believe me,they're over fueled enough to run a 3L!!!!

  13. Was it an auto GTS-X by chance? The NICS RB has 180hp if I recall rightly,and the L20et had 145hp? Auto kills the NICS,but 5spd isn't much better. You must have had a freaky RB30E if it went better than a manual RB20DET! I've owned both,and know what I'd prefer.Not that I particually like RB20DET's either........ Yes,I am aware of that I was commenting on their ability to rev more than 5k.
  14. Don't know about that.... :confused: Mine goes to 7500rpm no probs,but goes faster if you change up a bit after 6000rpm. The red cam cover RB20's aren't as good a package as the silver top versions,and in close to stock form,won't match them.(I reckon) If going for aftermarket ecu,turbo,etc,then there's nothing wrong with using the red-top RB20 as a base,as all the things that hold them back from the factory are replaced anyway.

Personally.I'm going to toss my RB20DET in the bin,as it sucks ass :flamed: A great many people would flame me on here for that,but that's ok to. You gotta do whats you gotta do
  17. I pretty much agree with everything you've said,except this.... A coupe isn't just another R30.Yeah,the import sedans are just another R30,as the bodies are available here,same as the dumb-ass 'super hatches', but the coupes are clearly different,and as such,I feel they're in a different class to the "regular" R30's. my 2cents
  18. I guess it's cause it's a rare PNV? But,as you say,it's already been tamperd with,so to my way of thinking ,it doesn't really matter.Speaking of performance enhancements,was yours the RB25DET one? Sorry,this thread is too long to go searching back through!
