Police on a power trip! help me out guys
0HR-30T replied to R33s-Goesoff's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I have some experiance in this stuff.A cop once said to me, 'anything you do to a standard production vehcile is a modification, and modified vehciles must be engineered'. The sad part is,if you go by the exact letter of the law,he was right. There are some mods that can be "owner certified" though (small things) as long as the replacement items are similar in design and intent to the stock parts....but if you get pulled over, and the copper disagrees with you, who's going to win? There's more detaild info on the RTA's website,so to be forewarned.... Personally, when I finish my car,I'm going to have every single thing I've done to it listed on an engineers report. As long as there's pricks out there,we have to make our cars prick-proof. -
The type that just slips over the wheel studs should be easy to find.Places like Autobarn, etc usually have them,or can get them in.

I used to have a Garrett ex-truck intercooler on my FJ20.With only 10psi blowing through it,the FJ made 246HP at the wheels. Now a brand name core might have let it make 255HP,but 246 isn't that bad either....My cooler had thick cores, and was 3inches think. If you make decent tanks for them,I don't think they're too bad.

Bummer.Looks like another solo cruise for me then :goddam:

True, but as lwells said,if you were buying second hand rims that 'didnt quite' it would be a "necessary evil" if you like.Remember not everyone can afford a nice set of 18's.

I'm taking my HR31 to Sydney tomorrow arvo (tuesday 9th) to get some wheels, but want to be out of there :run: before 5pm when people start running into each other (i've seen 10news!) Anyway, wondering if anyone's going to be out in Newcastle in the late arvo/early evening? I guess the foreshore's the go? (even on a tuesday)

Planning to get an import R31
0HR-30T replied to mickah_2002's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Stock HR31 handling is a different world to stock Aussie R31 handling.I've also had an HR30,and an FJ20 R31,and the HR31 eclipses both of them. The HR31 feels low, stiff, and shorter wheelbase to steer (thanks to HICAS) and much more stable and safe when pushed near the edge.A lot of people whinge about the HICAS,but I have to say I don't mind it..... -
FS: Blitz FATT Turbo Timer

How come the wires have been cut? and do you still have the instructions that explain which wire goes to where? -
Hey guys. This may help in relation to fabricated crossmembers.Sometimes it helps to see similar examples to base your own design off. http://r31.fcpages.com/rb201.htm

Aren't these called negative ion generators? The spose to remove dust, smoke, etc particles from the air,by making the air "heavy" then all the bits of grit in the air fall. Good for keeping the parcel shelf/rear seat area dirty.

Thanks! And I'll even check my spelling next time I post.....

Hi guys.I'm not a finacial member, but I thought I'd stick my 2c worth in.I've only been browsing the forums "full timeish" for the last 4 months odd,but have stuck head in from time to time for last year or so. I'd like to say that this would have to be one of the best forums I've come across - not that I'm a forum junkie though. Most forums are packed full of 17 or 18yo that have R34 GTR's or mates that run 8sec quarters,or generally think they know everything possible about any given subject, and are willing to get into an argument over things they "know" when in fact they don't have a clue what they're on about. (and no offence ment to the 18yo's here!) I don't claim to know the world either, because I know that I don't.Also I don't take what I hear "on the grape vine" ,or read in magizines as gosphell. I do know a few things,as I have been tinkering myself for a few years, and have picked up a few things. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is this forum seems to be,for the most part, full of true enthuisests, who have a passion for their cars, and enjoy sharing knowledge/helping others and having a mature discussion about Skyline's and related topics, and having a bit of fun along the way. I don't post much on here,as there are plenty of people with a lot more knowledge/experiance than I,to reply to topics, but I felt like having a go at this one. I haven't been to any meets, etc,as I'm about 5 hours north of Sydney, which makes it hard. That's why I haven't actually joined the club,as It's too far to get to any events for me. Having said that,I would like to try to get to some cruises this year,as I have never been on a decent one,let alone one populated with Skylines. (even though my old GTS-X would be the roughest Skyline there probably! haha) Anyway,in closing,I would like to say sorry for the long post. Some guys mightn't think I'm not in the "club scene" enough to put in 2c worth, but this is just my perspective.Hope it doesn't afend anyone!

Hi guys-thought I may be able to assist a bit.As you know, the DR30 has bigger brakes than the HR30,so diferent mounting holes, etc.I've had no experiance with MR30's,but believe them to be close(or same) as HR30. DR30's have the 100mm mount hole spacing.HR31's(Japanese Skyline) also have 100mm spacing. R31's(ausie) have smaller spacing, same as HR/MR30's. R31(aussie) GTS have same struts/mounts as HR31's. Type m and GTR 4 pot calipers have 100mm spacing. Hope this helps (somewhat)

What has been the best phrase someone has shouted at you
0HR-30T replied to Lozza150's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah, people don't really seem to notice my black HR31 GTS-X coupe.I get a few looks, but I guess people 'not-in-the-know' don't associate the '31 shape with 'import-turbo'? Or mine might just look shit! :Paranoid: -
Hi guys. Here's my effort. I used Acrsoft Photostudio 2000.(as that's all I have) Does anyone have any experiance with this program? I'm only new to this, but I can't find any colour meld tools,as described in the Photoshop tutorials,I'm guessing I don't have stuff that advanced? Any help would be great.

I did see a Maroon R33 ,but there's one that lives in town somewhere now,so maybe it was that one,and not yours I saw...There's 2 black 33's here, and I'm betting the gunmetal R32 was very low, with a big cooler? That's local as well. Wish there was a few more around up here that had more than 'wheels,pod,exhaust'....
-
Actually, those pics are of a DR30.Thats the face lifted or "iron mask" model. Engine is,of course, the mighty FJ20ET.

I'd just like to say I live in Port Macquarie and it sux ass. There's only 2 clubs now too.If anyones up this way,I own the only black HR31 Skyline currently on the road in town.

Hi all.I'm hoping later model Skylines/Cefiros,etc have electric air -bag lumbar and side bolstering too,or a fellow HR31 GTS-X owner can help me. One of the air bags in the side bolsters in my GTS-X drivers seat has a leak in it.This is stopping the side bolsters 'moving' of course.I can crimp the air line to the leaking side, and the remaining side inflates as it should. My question is,has anyone ever serviced these air bags? If so how does one go about gaining access to them.I'm hoping theres an easy way,as from what I can see,the seat fabric has to be removed.Thanks.

see http://members.fortunecity.com/fjgtr/ for pics. Has 3 inch out,and the hose in the pic goes with it.This hoes goes on the front of T28 or T3 turbos, then flares to 3inch to meet the airbox. This was made for a non-air flow meter engine, but with some work,an airflow meter could be put in-line. Airbox has normal style lid,and has (dirty) K and N cotton panel fitler in it. Asking $100 the lot . Im in NSW-mid north coast.

I have the complete front end from a Pintara. Gauards, bonnet, headlights, grille, filler panel, stone tray, its all there. $500 the lot
