  1. Lucky bugger! Wish I could find a half cage for $100!
  2. Hmmmm,that'd be one angry sounding L !
  3. Nice one On what boost?
  4. pffft, you need to start looking a bit harder.
  5. Haha, this is going to hit 3 pages long before we see any numbers! Edit: oops, page 3....I didnt do that on purpose! hehe
  6. Guys,in referance to the rear springs mounting between the arm and the body discussed in the other thread....If the R30 rear end turned out to be a hassle, how about a 180B Dato rear cradle? Their springs mount on the lower A arm,and to the body...I don't know any measurments for them, but a 180 rear end with a nice R180 LSD would be nice! just a thought...
  7. Pav-Tek sourced my gasket, when they built the engine....so I can't help there.I'd imagine Ridgecrest or similar would be able to whip one up. I've seen FJ24 head gaskets available from somewhere, but like an idiot,I didn't write down where it was.......Try stew wilkons maybe? and yes,my motor is o-ringed,if that's what you mean?
  8. Sounds like you've got it sussed. If those "jap-spec" R31 struts had Aussie discs and calipers on them, there would have had to of been an adaptor plate made,as aussie struts have 90mm hole spacing, and HR31's have 100mm....ie,the capilers don't interchange.
  9. Depends what you do in your road car! IF you do go the RB route, what sort of $ would you be wanting for your FJ's and boxes? And (possibly) might you be interested in a swap for an RB20DET?
  10. *puts on chirpy voice "It's Wednesday!" How'd you go?
  11. Standard gaskets protrude.Mine's a custom one,but I think an FJ24 gasket would do the trick (?)
  12. Not trying to re-direct too much, but what was the conclusion about HR31 struts into R30? HR31's have the same 100mm caliper spacing as S13/R32,etc,so the 4 pots would bolt straight on,and the bigger discs slide straight over the hubs (after redrilling to 4stud) as they're not a single piece,as in the '30s.... Might be a cheaper way to go? ps-are you wanting to go 4 or 5 stud hubs?
  13. Didn't you learn not to say anything till AFTER the event? lol :jk:
  14. picky picky Cheers Jason, for clearing that up.Unfortunatly,I think Disco wants to go higher ratio diff (3.7:1) as well as tinker with the box ratios....
  15. Or failing everything else, you could just push another 100hp That'd close that ratio gap up! :jk:
  16. Yeah, like what has been said above, they still rattle slightly, but not like old school forgies. I would've thought that the rings would cop more hammering when cold, than the bores...especially as mine have 1.2mm low friction ones.Seems to be sweet though, and I had no issues using it as a daily driver...
  17. I'm not familiar with the Wolf, but a lot of aftermarket ecu's have a launch control vacility built in...my EMS QI-4 does... Maybe ring Wolf and inquire?
  18. Well,if that's your point exactly, you wouldn't want to go lower again with 1st gear, would you? Would it not be better to try and lower 2nd's ratio?
  19. Boof,I took your advise, and my bore's reply was as follows: "what's your problem? We're still round.....We like it rough!!! MORE...GIVE US MORE!!!!!!!" :) I duely appolijised to my precious bores, and prominsed never to doubt them again
  20. mmmmmmm,4 pots.......
  21. I *think* VL turbo boxes have a 3.5 1st gear ratio? And from memory,720 ute (Z20) also had a low 1st. Personally,I feel 1st is low enough in FJ's standard!
  22. On a 2.0L engine it should
  23. From what I know, they are not compatable. The Nissan Z24 (pathfinder, etc)cranks are spose to be similar, but that's getting away from the cheap end of the scale to do.
