  4. Hi Guys quick question, i am trying to remove the caliper mounts from the rear axle of an R31 skyline.. I have the brakes off and the bolts off that hold it on. i assume that the axle somehow pulls out? what is the easiest way to do this? The car is in a wrecking yard, so it doesn't have to be a pretty way thanks Kent
  5. a bit of an update on our front suspension.. i found out alot more about it today.. oh and i want to atleast sound a little more intelligent than my previous posts (doh! i have learnt a lot since then!, i am still learning though!) when we first got the car pretty much the whole suspension, steering and crossmember where of C210 origin. It does bolt directly up.. but that isn't necessarily a good thing when we picked the car up it had a massive amount of negative camber (around 30 degrees!). Nick (the previous owner, nixcars on this forum) gave us the original c110 crossmember too and recommended that we put it back in to fix the camber we visually compared most of the control arms, and ended up replacing these two rods (sorry, don't know there names, they are both forward of the crossmember) This seems to have visually straightened the wheels, though obviously (if you look at our site ) it hasn't been professionally aligned yet. I need to still double check the steering arm lengths though, but the crossmembers seem to be identical. Brake wise we are running C210 height adjustable coil overs (one of the reasons we bought the car!), with Honda accord rotors (will measure the diametre) and 4 spot landcruiser callipers, picture here hope this clears some things up, sorry it took a while to clarify We will be selling this brake setup soon if any one is interested, as we need to move to something a "little" bigger . It will only fit a c210 strut though, not the c110 (not sure of the difference as we never had one!), Hope this clears some things up for those of you interested Kent
  6. updated
  7. i am interested in the wiring loom if ou have it?
  8. Hi Guys, quick question.. i am looking for a turbo for an RB30DE with RB25DE head (conversion is in progress) would a T04 turbo be okay? i am looking for around 250rwkw I found this one on ebay, would it be suitable? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...=ADME:B:DS:AU:6 Thanks guys, brilliant thread, fingers crossed i get through this conversion (which is step 1, step 2 is getting it into our Datsun 240K )
  9. guys, this is a great thread which is paramount to the whole "classic skyline" theme, making it sticky.. perhaps if RSX84 wants to keep updating his initial message with a directory of parts suppliers? keep everything neat and tidy?
  10. Guys, i am locking this thread, please post new threads rather than appending them to someone elses, and please try to keep them on topic, if you want to chat, goto the wasteland. Kent
  11. Do you mind if i ask how much you paid for the turbo? i am looking to get something similar, would be good to get a price guide
  12. Hi Guys, hope this isn't too off topic, but if anyone has an RB25DET flywheel they want to sell after fitting their shiny new lightweight, please PM me.. preferably in sydney, but will pay postage if it isn't too much Thanks guys
  13. Guys... seriously.. start some new threads, don't just make a MEGAHUGE one!! if it continues much more i will be forced to lock this. If you don't know what i am talking about then you obviously havn't read the other 1948 messages.. which is my point exactly.. no body else will look at this thread for research either! Kent
  14. Hi Guys, Looking for some cheap parts for our RB30DET engine in our Charity bash car (the mighty 240K!) If you have any of these that you want to sell cheaply, please pm me. I am in Sydney. RB25DE/T top cambelt cover RB25DE/T charcoal Cannister (and any other emmisions gear? i need ti all!) RB25DE/T throttle body RB25DET crossover pipe + stock BOV RB26DETT Valve springs 2x R32 Red GT badges R33 GTST or 300ZX front calipers There is probably a lot more, but i will update this list as i go Thanks all Kent
  15. Thanks Daniel and Jason, i figured that the 1600 and C110 rears may be similar (seeing as many of the brake components are the same) and some pics would be a great help Unfortunately my knowledge in older nissans is really lacking makes it very hard to figure out what components can be transposed onto the car, all your advice and ideas are unbelieveably helpful! I had read a conversion faq on converting the 1600 drums into disks.. it didn't seem to hard (apart from the fabricating etc ) i will try and find it again and see what you guys think.. Daniel, i will check out over the weekend what we already have on the front, i know we have kyb height adjustable suspension, and the brakes have already been swapped out, though i havn't looked at them in too much detail (i am 80% sure they will need to be bigger for what we are doing though)
  16. what condition is the gearbox in? clutch etc.. is it manual or auto anyways?
  17. yeah i know, i have been drooling over it for the past week $500 + shipping though is worth more than half the car (well hopefully not once we have finished) if only money was no object
  18. fantastic! i think i definantly owe you a beer for that effort ! (still can't work out how the camera / tape measure attacked you so badly though ) i will measure up our rear over the next few days and see how they compare, i looked up the control arm bush codes, and they seem the same, so fingers crossed it will.. i assume we just need to modify the top shock mounting position then (?) and we should be away! (of course i know that won't be the case!) i assume that these R30's wouldn't be the easiest to track down though, will have to finally pull my finger out and head to a couple of wreckers i think! thanks again, that is a HUGE help to me!
  19. Fantastic, can't wait! Oh and if it isn't any trouble, if you have easy access to a digital camera, some pics would be nice too we only have coil overs for the front (rears wouldn't fit the current set up), but i am sure that it can't be that hard to source
  20. Why? don't you think the R30 is a classic? as this section is still fairly new, creation of new subjects won't be made until we can get some good numbers to support those sections, i am sure you would understand that there is no point having 100's of sections nobody is bothered looking through.. It helps if you post new threads, not just on the same one (hint hint ) oh and shame on you for not donating! :Bang: seriously though.. i wonder how many of you actually realise that 1 person ultimately pays to keep this site running (and you should see how much traffic this site goes through!).. fairs fair, everyone should help out especially if you do get some benefits out of the forums (and i am sure most of you do).. no matter how much or little you can afford.. it all helps! anyway.. rant over !!
  21. Guys, speaking as a moderator How about starting to break up this thread and start posting new questions as new threads. Perhaps start each new thread with "R30 - " or something if you want to make R30 stuff obvious.. 49 pages is a bit of a hike for anyone trying to find useful information.. Thanks guys, i am sure you all understand.. Kent
  22. so the MR30 rear definantly fits? i was going to go down that path and then was told that it wouldn't, so i gave up on that idea! basically i am looking for a easy cheap way to upgrade the rears (since putting the RB30DET in is probably not a good idea on the current rears). the more they magically fit the better thanks for the help, much appreciated..
  23. I still love that bonnet any ideas what type of brakes were fitted to this? I am starting to look at bigger brake upgrades, especially trying to turn the rears into disks instead of drums.. anyone have any ideas? i think the Datsun 1600 might be a similar set up (drums) so i may need to check it out on the 1600 side..
  24. yeah, part number would be fantastic thanks!
  25. Fatz, Do you have a link or something? or a contact number? is that for GTR and GTST? Do these have thermostats in them too?
