  1. who said the rb20 afm was the same?
  2. you will get better economy with a free flowing exaust. the engine does not need to make more power to push the air out.
  3. 312.2kw
  4. i think the power steering pulley is different, not 100% sure. but i have heard of people putting 26 balancers on and modding the power steering pump so it would work. Bahhh im not much help am i ? lol
  5. I have a VL turbo ECU that you can have for $300 + delivery. Cheers
  6. one thing you have to remember is that to do this job, in the car, he will need to take appart the whole front of the engine. Thats not a quick job, the hamonic balancer will need to come off as well, radiator out the whole top back plate will need to be removed as well. He did mine, its in the front but did it with the head off. He would be the best guy in newcastle to get it done, if he says he wont do it then its probly not a good idea to get it done. Tell him i sent you and he will look after you.
  7. He should be able to do it, i cant promise anything though. Maybe he will do it but cannot gaurentee that no shaving will get in. You will need to talk to him. He is on the dyno most of the day today so try him in the afternoon.
  8. phone anthony at Turbotechnics, ask him if he will do it for you. He has done these before. 49565466
  9. Death would be deserved for these guys because they stole the car, and also drove the car in a manner that is lethal to everyone else. My sister drives around that area every day. What if they killed her ? What if it was your mother ? or your whole family in the car on their way back from bowling and you witnessed the whole thing from behind them ? Better they are gone now before they hurt others. Its better that way. I know there are many more then just those two guys.. but i guess that there are 2 less now.
  10. God riddance. I am just glad these guys did not kill any familys with them. I am glad they are gone, what stopping them car jacking any of us ? I think the best penalty for these guys is death and i am glad they did not take anyone else with them.
  11. i got a power fc for r33 & hand controller, selling with A45 AFM & Apexi power intake pod filter. $1600 and i will remove it from my car and upgrade. will not seperate
  12. Anyone got any of this stuff left over? the green / blue stuff? I had some left over from my last oil change but my mate snaked it, Cheers
  13. i had this problem, i purchased a half damaged instrument cluster from ebay for $17.50 delivered and took the tacho out of it and put it in mine, then it worked straight away.
  14. just go to the exaust shop and tell them you want a sensor bung installed, you want it around 20cm's before your cat, no closer if posisble
  15. lol.. cheers bud I dont really tune cars for ppl anymore, just my friends. I have a friend who owns a workshop and he has helped me heaps when it comes to learning it all and I kinda picked up alot by myself on my car. I wont be interested in re-mapping a stock ECU. Why dont you get a Nistune subie ? ive played around with them a bit and they are great! and in a reply to your PM Subie, keep it in the thread please.. I am not sure if brad does remaps on stock ecu's, i think he might, he is right into skylines etc he has a race 32 GTR. I have talked to him a few times and he really knows his shit, i would even let him have a go at my car, its just a bit too far for me and i dont have the $$ to spare so il keep tuning it myself for now, il go see him when i get cams and a bigger turbo if i ever do. give him a call on 95211388, ask them if they do stock remaps and they will tell you what they can and cant do.
  16. Why dont you try Brad @ Autosports ? He is very good at what he does.
  17. well thats good, i would sugged you get the sensor bung welded in before you go to get accurate readings, they cost around $5 each or less and its about $20 to get it installed at any exaust shop, if you go into the shop and tell them what you want they will be able to order it in and fit it for you. good luck, post the dyno sheet if you can.
  18. Why the hell do people have to bag a workshop because of a silly thing like this ? Seriously it drives me up the wall, you might as well bag every tuner thats ever touched a ecu if your going to be like this. It was a dyno day man, seriously. the whole point of the day is a power read out, yes they should be giving AFR's if the customer asks for one (i have worked the computer at a few dyno days and its not hard) but sometimes your car does not give a correct reading, and the exaust being too big is a damn good reason. Its a shame that your never going to go back there because those guys are probably really good at what they do, they just didnt want to hold up the dyno day to get you a AFR read out, its a mission to get 50 cars on the dyno in one day so you dont want to f**k around if you dont have to. car goes on, 3 runs.. thats it. If you have a problem with your cannon being too big at the back (very very very common problem) then go to a exaust shop and ask them to install a bung before your cat and ask the tuner to tune from that point which will give you accurate readings. Sorry for the rant but it shits me to no end when i hear tuners getting bagged out by someone who has NO idea what they are on about and they start to get a bad name because of it, yes i know the people who listen have no idea either. But thats what makes the industry so hard for people trying to make a living out of it, they practicly have to charge through the roof just to keep the shop running. I suggest you go back and talk to them, tell him you were not really too happy that you didnt get a AFR read out and that you have got the bung in your exaust now and ask if he can do you a good deal on a couple of runs! The guy will appreciate what your asking and probly do the runs for the same price the dyno day cost you. Go easy on those guys, its not a easy job doing what they do, but someone has to do it.
  19. can you measure an engine for harmonics?
  20. what setup do you have in yours? what are you like with the rev limiter? i need to use the rev limiter because sometimes its just sooo hard to catch the revs before hitting it, some gears its near impossible.
  21. ok to add to this, i am only going to be pushing a MAX of 7200rpm. it will hardly see more then 7000rpm. Dont need more revs then that.
  22. I am thinkin of buying a N1 oil pump to replace my RB25DET pump in my RB30DET, it has around 360+ rwkw and I keep hearing shock storys of them breaking into pieces on the drag strip or sometimes out of the blue. Is there a reason for this ? I do have a crank collar on my crank (stupid thing caused all sorts of drama's which destroyed my previous crank) but anyway.... The old RB25DET pump has done me well and still works but its had close to 300,000 km's on it so i am thinking its time to change it and cannot really afford a Nismo or JUN pump at this time. Anyone have any luck with these pumps ? is it just that they dont like the rev limiter too much ??? Anyways who has used them or is using them where they are working well? is that talk all just bullshit or should i just keep the 25 pump ?
  23. That looks very min damage. It will buff out. rub it with some paper and clean it up a bit and re-use it
  24. is this a feature in the ecu i wonder?
  25. yeah change it over, make sure you mark with a white marker or liquid paper the position the CAS is so you can keep the same timing when putting it back. Dropping it shouldnt hurt it that bad, unless you smashed it to the ground. Thats not to say that its going to last for ever if it does still work, if it works id buy a new one and keep it in the boot in case it decides to die so you dont get stuck.
