  1. i was thinking about putting a toyota supercharger on my rb30det, make it come alive much earlier. I was looking at it last night, and there is lots of room to put one there.
  2. I was going to say the other one looks better, but looking at that orange again.... id have to say its the winner. But i do think if they change the wheels the top secret one will be better.
  3. does anyone know if a RB30DET with low compression RB30ET ACL pistons with a 3 layer cometic head gasket be a interference engine ? or non intererance ? Would the valves smash the pistons if the timing belt let go? anyone know?
  4. if you will take $300 + delivery then send me a PM.
  5. ring turbotechnics, 0249565466, he gets them in from time to time when needed, dont ring him if you dont have the money for one. What i mean is, dont waste his time.
  6. Is that your 35 Jerry ? try rego it as a r34 or something
  7. nah, this VL is one my mates built, has a 3040 on it with 375hp at the rear wheels.... Got done for too loud, BOV, modified polution controll (catch can with filter) and front mount intercooler & POD Got a fine from the police and the EPA.
  8. Ahhhh its all good.. that 0-100 page was a good look see though =)
  9. i got a 3540 on a rb30det with lowish compression, i get 25psi by 3800rpm
  10. I liked it better when the guys from SAU sneaked a photo out, then someone goes out and spoils it with links from another site! ftl
  11. i was driving my mates VL and we got pulled over.. i copped $450 worth of fines and he copped a $300 fine. The EPA went over the whole car, they were SOOOO stupid they did not even know it had a gutted cat. Coulda been worse i guess, goes to show they are idiots.
  12. the best place would be a 110 or 120 zone, some kinda freeway where no one is around =)
  13. I was just speaking to the guy at Pro Engines today, he is developing new gears for the oil pumps and is trying to get it ready in the near near future. He is really helpfull and knows his shit, his details are at www.proengines.com.au They were supposed to get them done last year but he is really busy.
  14. You have got to be kidding? I allways thought that manufacter's had to comply with a set limit of emissions for the current year the car was being released in, so all cars have to pass the same limit for that year untill tougher emissions laws come in. My car runs in the cut off between 91 & 98 year models so anything between those years have the same emissions requirements. Dont quote me on that year range 91 - 98 as i am not 100% sure but i think i was reading it somewhere, maybe it was 92 - 97... not 100% sure if this information is correct you would have to look into it. I know the guy at the RTA who did my test knew everything, i forget his name but he works out of the Botany emissions testing center. I allways thought that all cars had to pass emissions for the laws set in that year. Thats why later model cars had more polution controll then the early ones. let me know what you come up with, maybe you can call the EPA and ask them? if they are no good in WA try calling the guys in NSW.
  15. anyone have anything ?
  16. you are confusing the shit out of me mate. lol what the hell is going on?
  17. hey mate they only test for those gases mentioned in my post above when i failed. all the others are not looked at. Remember this test was introduced in california in 1977 which was a emulation of a typical taxi ride. Its old and probly causing the environment more harm then good because you can get high horse power cars passed and legal with it. Funny that the cops / epa are policing a law thats so easy to pass, they probly dont realise or know any better the history of the IM240...
  18. Howdy Ossie ! Spewin about the defect... Did you read the whole thread? what year model is your car? I am pretty sure i put down the limits for the tests for my 95 model car and i think those figures are from around 91 to 98 year models. You should call the RTA and ask them, they gave me the figures i needed while i was getting the test. From memory i think the NOX can be 1.93 for the 91 to 98 year models..... go back and read my posts, its in there somewhere. let me know if you need any help.
  19. i am after a harmonic balancer for a RB25DET, must be in good condition with no cracks in the rubber and no wear in the keyway. will consider aftermarket units Will pay for post, please PM me if you can help.
  20. This car is in good nick, goes really hard and has been looked after. No one looks after his car as well as this guy does, he never buys second hand parts unless he has to. I had a go at tuning the Nistune but we only had 30 minutes to touch up the top end, i would think if you put it on the dyno now it would have at least 175 - 185rwkw and would go over 200 if done on a dyno. This car has had a Manual conversion done last year with a low KM import front cut purchased from Toy Shop in newcastle, a brand new exedy fibre clutch was installed as well and the flywheel was machined. Has a FULL 3" exaust from turbo back & K&N panel air filter in stock air box. Definatly worth the look, he also installed a very good alarm & 3 point immobiliser the next day after the car was purchased. Because of baby Aiden the car has to go, would be sad to see him sell as we have put lots of time and effort into this car. ohhh and i thought it was silver Good luck with the sale Will
  21. spinning wheels in the wet can actually cause the tyre to shred, which will wear the tyre down much much more then spinning in the dry. be carefull some tyres shred bad in the wet if you spin them at high speeds.
  22. yep. made new braket and moved in front of the strut tower
  23. its not about saving the $10, its saving the mucking around of doing a money order. I dont use credit cards.
  24. probly better off waiting untill you put the power FC in and get your tuner to lock the timing. (its a term used for setting the timing on CAS to be the same on the ECU)
