Mine is done as per Sydney kids instructions and its been running for 2 years and 363rwkw. There are many others whos are running well too. I dont know why people have to question it all the time. -

who knows. it might have something to do with the extra vct external feed that happens on the vct heads why the configuration is different. -
i use the acl race series bearings in my engine as well and its a streeter... got me worried now.... i use motul 300v chrono and i change it every 5000km's or before... i have the mahle acl forged pistons as well and china made H beam rods

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
Guilt-Toy replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
we dont know where sydney kid comes up with his ideas but they have been proven to work time after time after time so its a good idea not to ask questions how he comes up with it... I think it may be because the rb25 has hydro lifters and its required to have it setup that way to run them properly where the gtr has solids which does not need the same kind of oil configuration. -
nothing is stopping anything. i have ACL pistons in my engine as im not made of money. I would like to have the jap stuff in my car though.. they build more RB engines then us... well that might change soon though lol

thats a good engine!! look after it

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
Guilt-Toy replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
NP mate. it does not require welding but it will require your machineist to machine down the crank and fit it correctly. its not a easy job and you have to have the crank out of the engine to do the task. what was the other question? did you read through this thread ? it has everything you need. -
i can see where he is comming from though. he said some manufacturers have certain technologys which is only available by licence so you will need to go with the jap brands that have this available to get it.

Getting the oil piump collar is is a 100% must do. especially when using the N1 pump as there has been MANY MANY failures. I did the oil pump collar on my engine and i still used the standard oil pump which is not prone to cracking and breaking like the N1 pumps are. so the answer is.. YES. please do the crank collar. if you dont your crazy. -

ahhhh its a pdf file on RTA web site. Go to the RTA web site and search for the following string engineering signatories and its the second link it has all the available engineers listed on it. i know some of them are out of date but you get the idea. hope this helps -
Air Conditioner Fan In Dash Stopped Working ?
Guilt-Toy replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in General Maintenance
I took some pics of the speed controll unit. the part with the fins goes inside the air conditioner unit. I took the black cover off it and it looks like it corroded around some of the joints... maybe pull yours out and clean them up and re-solder them to make sure they are not dry joints and put it back in to see if it fix's it before buying a new part? hope this helps! -

i actually compared the fans together with the R32 & R33. they will physically fit in etc etc but the plug on the end of the wire is different! -

Air Conditioner Fan In Dash Stopped Working ?
Guilt-Toy replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in General Maintenance
AWESOME!! and here i am thinking that i was wasting my time ask one of the guys advertising they are wrecking a skyline, want me to take a pic of the part for you? -
Hi guys, this is a issue i had with my car and no one knew the answer to it when i asked so I am posting up the issue and fix so if anyone else uses the search function they will be able to find a fix. A little while ago i turned my air con on and it started working for about 10 seconds and then it stopped. The fan just stopped but the compressor was still on and was still cooling the air but there was no fan at all to get the air into the car. After a lot of mucking around, i got my mate to bring over his r33 so we can try and change over the climate controll unit, he said we should try the Fan Speed controll unit first (being a auto air conditioner mechanic he said it was common) This unit is under the dash on the passenger side of the car, you have to take your glove box out to get access to it, 2 phillips head screws and one plug, changed over to my mates one and it worked straight away. WIN!! I phoned the toy shop and they were asking $95 for the part, i refused to pay that much and wanted to try someone from here on the forums but then i remembered we had a R32 front cut in my mates garage from converting his r31 to a rb20 so i stole the part from that and it fit and worked!!! So yeah the R32 fan speed controller works in the R33. Just wanted to post up this info to help anyone else that has this issue because apparently its a common issue in all cars. If this post helped you then reply so i know i at least have not wasted my time air con fan stop stopped working climate control

Emission Testing Modified Skyline's
Guilt-Toy replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
wow looks good mate... looks pretty sweet I dont think the engineer will let you get away without a emissions test because its got a non standard exaust manifold and a non standard turbo, not to mention the pipework and catch can setup etc etc. I would think it would need to be emissions tested for engineers certificate with or without a standard computer because of other modifications. Yeah big mistake lettin it run outta rego, but shit happens. how long has it been out ? i figure more then 3 months because your getting a bluey.. damn.!!! Lakesides engineering is on the RTA web site in the list of signitorys for engineers that you can get your car engineered from, if you can not find it on the RTA web site then let me know and i suppose i can find it for you, i do have his card in my car but im at work atm i could have a look when i go out to get some lunch. The canister does something with the fuel tank and the breathing of it or something like that. I am not even 100% sure if the GTR came with one, i would assume so maybe you should ask someone that knows about GTR's but i know all gtst's had them. let me know if you cant find the guys number and i will get it for you. -

Hey mate yeah my pod filter is in the front bar and is enclosed. Lakeside said he would engineer it without any hassles. I guess because your car is unregistered you would have to tow it to botany, i would call your blue slipper and ask them if they will pass the blue slip with the modifications. Some of them might let you go through and you will be able to drive it registered to botany. post some pics of your engine bay, mostly around the turbo side. by the looks of that avtar of yours it might be hooked up still. and yeah lakeside is the go, i would get him to engineer your car for you. It wont be that big of a job once you get your stock exaust and your cat. -

For you its going to be interesting and a long mission ahead for you. For starters your cams have to go, your catch can has to be hooked back into the intake (remove it completly or make a plumb back system). You will have to try and hook up the standard air box OR get a aftermarket box made up and get a noise drive by test by your engineer.. (you are in nsw yes???) intercooler can stay where it is, passing the emissions test will allow the engineer to engineer the cooler. Exaust noise can be fixed by fitting a stock exuast back on. Get a good cat converter (catco 3 way cat) and then you will need to work on tuning.... go do your first test and print out the details and post them up and i can have a look, make sure you ask the RTA guy to write down your max levels for all the gas's tested so you know how far you are out. But dont bother going unless you do all of the above unless you want go humor yourself and fail by an absolute shitload for something to do. good luck -

I dont do much tuning anymore, only for my close friends... I can however put you onto a emissions tuner who has all the gear and does a good job. I cant gaurentee that your car will pass if i tune it. I got mine through pretty easily but my car is not a GTR. A GTR is completly different because of the more agressive cams and head setup compared to the GTST. If you have aftermarket cams then you can forget about getting the car passed emissions. It wont happen. If it does then your doing pretty damn friggin good (but i guess everyone told me i couldnt get my car to pass so who knows ???) I do have access to a few dynos and a five gas but i dont do it enough to get you to hire the gear and get your car passed first go... It would probly still be a learning curve for me especially when it comes to the GTR & your ECU is different to mine although i have used Autronics before. The good news is that you do have a good enough ECU to pass the emissions test, the autronic is a great computer and is more then capable of passing. I suggest you go out and get yourself a brand new compliance catco 3 way cat before you even try your first test, then do your test and scan it and send it to me and i will check it out and see how close / far you are from getting it to pass & then i can tell you if i am willing to give it a go or not... Which brand injectors ? how many holes do they have? Also ask the RTA guy to write down the maximum limits for your year model & car that are passable. The engineer is lakeside at wyong. The blue slip guy will want all the modifications engineered and before your engineer will engineer a intercooler or high mount or extractors etc etc you will need a emissions test. ps - its very important to get that cat. without the catco 3 way you will most probly fail. Make sure all your emisisons control gear & canisters are all hooked up correctly!
