  1. hehehehhehee yeah man i still cant believe that i got it on my fuel line its just really overkill if you ask me.. but it works so my pump is happy... pump is happy i am happy... hehee cheers mate - remember put it on the return line so you put it after the regulator as it goes back to the tank.
  2. FIXED!!! I asked a mate of mine who had a 1j cresida and he played around with tranny coolers a while ago and had one sittin there which i scored for $20... Got 2.5 meters of fuel hose and mounted it up front. The pump was allways warmish before and when it was making lots of noise it was very warm.. now after 1 hour and 30 minutes of driving the pump was COLD. cold..... interesting and it makes no loud noises at all anymore and the afr's are stable as hell. I pulled up at the twin servo's on the freeway after 45 mins of doing 120ks an hour and it was very cold tonight and i felt the pump - cold. felt the fuel cooler and it was not as cold as the fuel pump was but it was not warm either... So i am guessing it is doing the job but it might need to be bigger..... Weird thing is that i felt the fuel rail on the engine and it was cooler then fuel cooler at the front of the car.. I think i will leave it how it is for now and see how it goes in traffic on my normal working week this week... So yeah im stoaked.. no more afr issues and a happy "cool" 044 pump not whinging at all! Cant complain for a $35 mod.... Here are some pics.. ignore the cable ties i will be fixing that up shortly ran outta time! i mounted one side properly i just gotta extend the bracket a little bit. I tried to up the boost to 25psi and the coilpacks were dien on me so i taped up the new ones that i had purchased a few weeks ago and installed them and now every time it hits 25psi it was blowing the intercooler piping off EVERY time.. came off 4 times.. so i need to pull them all out and get them welded so they dont come out anymore! one thing after another!!
  3. im interested in this setup too. does anyone have the url's for info on his setup? how much is it worth?
  4. the car was idleing on 17 to 18 afr and when the pump cooled down it went down to around 15.5 (which is still leaner then normal) and it was still missing a little on idle.... on cruise when the pump is noisy it does surge alot and runs pretty lean.. my tune atm is set to around 14.5 - 15.5 on cruise when the pump gets noisy it goes up to 17 + oh and im worried about both issues because one the noise annoys the shit out of me and 2 the car drives kinda rough when it leans out that much and its annoying too. Boost is still normal afr's I have a wideband afr meter in my car at all times now and thats what ive noticed.
  5. Okay i did more testing... and i am 100% sure that its fuel temp issues because yesterday arvo the pump was making very loud noises so i pulled into the servo (had low fuel) left the engine running and poped the boot so i could hear the pump and put in 40 litres of petrol.. as soon as i got up to around 15 litres of petrol the noise completly went away and it sounded normal. So the extra fuel cooled down the system and i could even feel a temp difference when touching the pump. i am going to try find a decent oil cooler and put it onto the system this weekend and see how it goes next week.
  6. PM me for Aftermarket ECU Tuning.

  7. you will need to get them flow tested.
  8. I looked at those pics.. I feel like crying. your poor engine. give it to me if your going to abuse it like that
  9. yeah thanks sounds like i am onto the right issue... will try get something on this weekend.
  10. I was told to put it on the return line... but i would love to be able to put it on the other side for performance gains not that it will make much difference
  11. What an interesting post.. i have some questions but... I will only get myself in trouble.... Im going to leave this one alone and just wait for it to be closed!
  12. cannot see any markings anywhere
  13. We putting a rb20 into a r31 and noticed a few things about it.. it seems that the jappie has done some interesting mods.. the pistons dont look stock either..... Take a look at these pics - do they look like stock cams ? or are they aftermarker or re-grinds? RB20 - silver top. the cams look pretty pointy to me...
  14. Now now now.. lets be nice. Im sure he gets it...
  15. well i can only bring it down to fuel temp. when it makes noise the fuel pump is pretty warm.. this morning after i put half a tank of fuel in the car there was no noises and the pump was cool. What else could it possibly be ?
  16. have you taken it to sydney traffic ? sometimes you can be at stop start traffic and not going above 30 km's an hour for 30 minutes at a time... I dont have issues when i am boosting around the streets at home its just in very heavy traffic.
  17. I rang John and he has a stock z32 oil cooler runnong on the return line at the rear of his car in the wheel arch with an air duct. I am going to run one on the return line at the front of the car. Cool the fuel going back to the tank... would think it would be better to run it on the way to the engine as i can see it giving a better burn that way but its under pressure there....
  18. I am using the stock setup. using the walbro pump to pickup fuel and feed to the 044 then the 044 push's to the front of the car. I have not changed the pickup or returns at all - its all stock
  19. oh some more testing done today. drove from the central coast to the end of the freeway and the noise started (tank was close to empty) before i got to the servo it was getting noisy again... put $40 in and then it went back to normal sound and normal a/f ratio's and did not make any noise all the way to work. So its definatly fuel temp issues.... I am convinced.
  20. 30psi is a good starting point. if your not sure then try 40. that way its safer.
  21. Wrong wrong. and WRONG. There is plenty of oil supply with blocking one oil feed and restricting the other. Mine has been working for ages. i did have noise that i thought was lifter noise but it ended up being main / conrod bearings. Maybe you have spun one as it sounds like its doing exactly what my engine does. no noise when its cold but when it warms up its noisy as hell.
  22. HOW GOOD!!! I want.. how do you hook this up to my car? i use AFM ?
