  1. I want to make my car legal and pass the epa tests etc. So because the flex pipe they used on my external gate plumb back is leaking i might remove it and run a whole exaust to the back of the car and use a small cat so the epa cant whinge about it.
  2. Look at the power surge between 130 - 145 - that looks like something that would happen with rich and retard not with a full power Fc tune. I would like to see the ignition map and fuel maps of this tune.. there must be a reason why its doing that.. if its not the tuners fault then there must be something wrong with something there.
  3. that is f**king horrible! I street tuned my own car and the curve is 100% better then that crap - i hired a dyno the week after to get a couple of power readings and this was one of the runs.. totally different. How much did the tune cost you ? I cant believe they let a car out like that.
  4. sue him for the money and us RB30DET ppl who have helped make this guide since the original thread started should get a night out at the pub.
  5. Now i dont doubt you know what your talking about... BUT ...... ??? I pulled 300rwkw with my 3" plumbed back.. maybe this rule does not go for RB30DET's
  6. I wish i had $1 for every one of these threads ive read since joining this forum in 2002.. Should be enough to convert my car to a nice stalled trans braked auto =)
  7. off boost my 300rwkw rb30det does 11.7 litres per hundred (meassured by the RTA at an emissions test) but as soon as i go into boost it will go up to around 20 litres per hundred or more. But i tuned the power fc myself to get that
  8. ive owned a microtech powered car and a power fc powered car and i have tuned both of them. The power FC is much better... The microtech has software thats really fun/easy to tune with pretty graph's etc etc. For an every day car the Power FC wins my vote - its just like a programable standard computer it feels like your driving a standard car but it has 400rwhp my mate that has that 520rwhp VL confessed he is pulling the microtech out and selling for a motec or autronic. Why ? thats another story $1200 he wants for it - its got coil system etc.. pm me if you want his contact details to buy this microtech
  9. with 8.5 to 1 what does a compression test come out at? mine has 120 in each cyl and i was wondering what it was.
  10. I second that notion
  11. I would like to add something to this. gap your plugs to .8 and if your keen .6
  12. I can see some major differences between mine... The CO is double what mine is... and it can go to 9.4 to be legal The fuel consumption is higher - 17.2 litres per hundred compared to my 11.8 litres per hundred. The nox is really low and HC is .8 less then mine. Mine is running lean because i drive lots of k's a day to work and back (min 140) so i tuned it to be good on fuel so thats why my nox is so high. I think i am going to get the wideband again and retune the ecu before the next test to: 1: run richer 2: run more retarded timing 3: more stable a/f ratio's on freeway cruise and drivability driving. im thinking of tuning it to around 14.0 a/f on drivability and 14.4 at over 60ks an hour... NOX is mainly generated from heat so all i have to do is fatten up the tune a bit and go back and see what happens. Will also fix the charcol canister situation up as well and get hold of a good cat converter. Thanks for that jerry - much appreciated.
  13. Looking to buy one of these.. preferably one with some sensor life left in it pm me -
  14. ive sen holes drilled in the rear housings of turbo's that ive imported from japan second hand. they seem to be putting them into the rear housing of the turbo's...
  15. Apexi are not going belly up. they just cant get NEC chips for the 2 gtst models anymore.
  16. when is the test?
  17. hahahahaa its sooo easy to get a bite from the small tech users =) I dont think a microtech would pass im240 on a 95 model car for those emission standards. I get 11.8 litres per hundred and i drive my car at least 140ks a day to go to work and back. would love to see a microtech do that. If you got details of a microtech on a 95 model passing those tests then please send me the info and a scanned im240 sheet from the rta as i need as much info as i can get to get mine passed anyway i never doubted a small tech cant make power.. my mate just built a rb30det with a microtech and on 17psi he made 520rwhp. I would rather use a AFM or spend the money and get a real computer like a autronic or a motec.
  18. 296rwkw with 265's can spin lots in second but if i drive it right i can get lots of power down without wheelspin and definatly does not spin third unless im on a pretty uneven road which you wouldnt be hooning on unless you have written your suicide note with this kinda power
  19. ethenol brings up the nox values which will make it fail anyway
  20. microtech's are easier to tune then a late model VCR
  21. awsome news!
  22. Im after 2 x half shafts for a r33 gtst - will take gtr if they fit and im after in particular the passenger side the plastic surround that goes inside the gaurd that stops dirt going up there - i think it protects the side mount intercooler as well cheers
  23. because they gave me 2 extra runs and let me play with the hand controller while they were driving it. If only they gave me one more run to run it richer.. no matter im booked in for another test on the 28th of this month.
  24. hahahaa therefore Microtech = Idiot =)
  25. the boost was set to 9psi and it never went into boost anyway... I need some print outs of some tests that have passed.. does anyone have any scanned tests from the RTA that passed? do you have the one that you passed jerry?
