  1. damn i just spotted this thread.. the worst things allways happen to the nicest people... It could happen to anyone my mate wrote off my other mates 180sx in december as well... they could not find a replacement car so they converted the sr into a 910 blue bird.

  4. You dont want to cut any wires. get a power fc. the headache's and engines you will save will be all worth while. Been there done that.

I just the ACL Race series pistons in my car for the RB30DET with 25 head and they are good. they are acually a MAHLE piston imported from the usa by ACL because it costs too much to make forgies in australia.   9. A while back Garret changed the naming of there turbo's to add the rear housing size into it. My turbo is actually a GT3540r but if you were to buy one now its a GT3582r because its got a .82 rear housing on it. Same turbo's just different rear housings so check which rear housing it has on it. the gt3540r may even have a 1.06 rear instead of a .82 so then its not a GT3582r equivalant. if you get what i mean
  10. looks like those cyl are leaking boost into the sump causing the blow by. id look at re-ringing it and checking the pistons.
  11. take it to a dyno and get them to put a fuel pressure tester on and do a power test to see whats going on. If you dont you will blow your engine to pieces. BTW if you have blow by allready then you could have smashed some rings. do a leak down test. my engine had lots of blow by and when i pulled it down 5 pistons had cracked / broken rings
  12. I tuned my own Power FC.... Damn it was fun and it cost me a hell of alot less then $500.. I had to do it myself as i put the engine together myself too (except crank and pistons cos its a fully forged setup) Only tuned it to 15 psi going to hire a dyno before i go to 25psi as i dont want to break any land speed records or the speed limit in the process
  13. It can be low or high for forgies. my engine read 120 in all cyl for a rb30det with forgies.

I got a R32 GTR oil pump for sale - i got this pump because i thought mine was not working but it ended up being engine failure so with the rebuild i used the old pump Pump is in full working condition - i pulled the back off because i was bored and it is all good. Looking at $120 delivered ono Location is Central Coast - can deliver to sydney (northish) or newcastle.

  18. at the end of the day having a slow old car is cool. But like i said at the end of the day your going to need to go fast and have power. I know i need power. Build the skyline - you got your cruiser
  19. I just rang them and they quoted me $1121 to insure my car highly modified for driver 29 with a burnout fine in the last 6 months. currently shannons charge me $1580. Not bad. might try them next year

  21. when putting my new engine together i had a mental blank about where the idler goes on my block so i looked on my laptop and found a rb30 guide (one of the first releases like 2 years old) and got the info i needed to get the belt on properly... Guide gets another thumbs up!
  22. I dont think its a good idea to play with injectors that much. I went for the Nismo 740cc injectors 4 hole injectors as ive seen too many engines blow up from high flowed injectors or old rx7 550cc injectors. so i went new ones.
  23. Hahhahahahaha!! YES!!! thats the only reason why i want one. I just want to scare the commodores off so they settle down and leave me alone instead of giving it a hit on the street. I wonder what boost my rb30det with gt35r will make with it standing still? Oh and if you have the crank collar modification for the oil pump then the pump shouldnt have any issues should it ? (running stock rb25det pump)
  24. Genuine ey ?? I dont think Nissan know what a RB30DET is my last belt was gates and had no issues with it.. I think the belt is a bit tight
