  1. yeah its a new belt and it is on pretty tight. I noticed today that its not as loud as it was yesterday. might slacken it off a bit and see.
  2. I just got my new fully forged bottom end running yesterday and the car sounds like it has a supercharger on it and you can hear this really high pitched whine comming from the engine. The engine runs fine appart from running around 10 - 15deg higher then normal. Anyone got anyideas why it would make the sound and why would it run hotter? the gauge in the dash reads normal readings its just the PFC that is saying it sitting on 101deg/c
  3. is anyone driving up from the city tonight?
  4. things have changed for me too cos i sold the run around car that i been trying to sell so I will be there for sure so put me down =)
  5. Its been covered here about 500 times. Sydneykid is probly sick of explaining it to every single person who does not read this thread properly. I put the restrictor on my engine and the lifters had no issues. i used the tomei 1.5 mm and i blocked the other one off totally. Go back and read what sydneykid explained earlier in the thread that method works fine. (lots of oil gets to the top end still if you take the oil cap off you can see the oil slushing around in there if your that worried about it then run 2 x 1mm restrictors to keep your engine builder happy but i blocked one off and restricted the other.
  6. You can reset the computer from the ETC menu. but all the maps will be reset back to standard. Some tuners like to reset them others like to take a short cut and just edit the current tune. Depends on how far out the tune is to what the tuner does. It is called DATA INIT or something i cant remember as my car has been off the road for 2 months - its the last one down on the ETC menu
  7. I have my engine appart at the moment. So i could take some pictures for you except the engine is at the engine shop. when i get it back (after chrissy) i will take some pics of where it is drilled and the oil line etc and the grub screw. Also look through this thread more because there is lots of photos of the vct setups from various people.
  8. I did a 12.9 with less then 300hp at the rear wheels but that was with a 3 litre bottom end with 2.1 60ft
  9. it took me friggin hours to get it in right. what a pain in the ass that was
  10. *high five* And you dont have to retune them every 6 months
  11. BURRRPPPP ohhh i mean Bourbon =)
  12. boost is enemy number 1. they may be running your engine at a high compression ratio and have not put an agressive tune. Say your running low ignition - this could be tuned later to have better timing advance which will give you lots more power at the same boost levels but at the same time you have think about how long the engine is going to last and the posibility of it detonating. Seems to me the engine builder has put a safe tune in it and wants your engine to last because at the end of the day its there reputation on the line if something lets go. If you ask them why and they wont give you a good enough reason then take it into your own hands and take it to another tuner and tell them to push the shit out of it.. just dont go running back to the builder and asking him to fix it.
  13. When i get my new engine in this is what I will do. Connect the fuel line that goes to the rail back to the return line to the tank (no fuel getting to injectors) Disconnect the CAS take the cam covers off - pour oil over both of the cams (not too much just to soak them a little) take all the spark plugs out and turn the motor over untill you can see the oil light either turn off or flash a little (some oil lights stay on and do nothing) keep turning the motor over without any compression or spark or fuel untill you can see lots of oil activity in the top end. once this is done you should be right.... (put rags around incase you get oil splashing)
  14. FFS. I would like to know if you can change them around. will 26 ones fit a 25 head ? youve had your fun - now someone answer the question Also 26 ones have a better baffling system so if you can get them for free or cheap it would be worth your while.
