  1. I purchased the pump. the guy communicates well and sent the item the minute he saw payment in his account. I had the item the next day after payment. time wasters.... they aint fun
  2. We have not seen Sydney Kid for a while.. I think he got offended with everyone doubting what he says..... Gap your plugs to .7 or .8... that should fix it.
  3. its a replacement not an upgrade..... Cheers for that
  4. I need to know if this oil pump is going to fit my engine - its the r32 gtr pump which is going on my rb30 anyone know? i think the rb30 / rb20 / rb25 / r32 rb26 were all same but just the 33 & 34 GTR where it had the bigger drive on the crank ?? was that right ? or are all RB26 pump's different. Cheers
  5. Ive got a set. will sell for $150 + delivery. 0412 417 579
  6. does that mean that the r32 gtr pump will fit straight onto my car without any issues?
  7. After reading that thread I was really impressed with.. 1: the amount of other customers giving good feedback about the products in question 2: the fact that he offered to pay for postage to get the item back 3: the fact that he is interested in finding out why the guy wrecks soo many turbo's by asking him to send back all the oil lines and fitting to get them checked out. 4: his attitude was good about it - I have heard many of storys of company's saying "NO WARRANTY ON TURBO"S you installed it wrong cya later bye bye i dont want to know you. But WHAT people dont realise is that word of mouth is the best form of advertising and if people say "i heard this rah rah rah" then that shit sticks. So if you ever tell anyone about this experience then i would be more enclined to say "this guy got a turbo and installed it wrong or it could have been faulty from factory and the turbo company actually paid the postage to return it and is checking it out for waranty and is even checking out the oil lines and fittings - you dont get that service anyday. There are lots of dickheads who put shit on business's when they dont get the whole story so when i hear "story's" i dont ever let that change or give me an opinion about a business unless its a close friend or it happens to be personally because at the end of the day I could be missing out on a good deal by going somewhere else. I would like to know how things turn out.. good luck with it all
  8. I am pretty sure my oil pump has been screwed for the last 6 months causing me these issues. Getting a GTR pump and hopefully installing it this weekend.
  9. S1 or 2 "?
  10. Im after a oil pump in good working condition. phone me 0412 417 579
  11. the senders normally whack out... but in my case i think my oil pump is screwed because the top end is making horrible noises.
  12. my engine took a turn for the worse today... after the noise went away for 2 days today after i was workin on the car for a few hours (fixing up some catch can hoses and made a plate to stop the direct air flow to the air filter) The noise came back.. This time it is very loud.. maybe 4 or 5 times as loud - its loud enough to set off the knock sensors to flash the engine light. What i did notice is that back on idle it stopped knocking.... looked at the oil pressure gauge and there was hardly any oil pressure compared to what i used to have. I think my oil pump is crook because its making the noise around the same time it did before but its much louder and its showing very low oil pressure.... cant drive it like this if i dont load it much and rev it up quickly there is no noise - its only when you hold the same rpm for 5 seconds it starts and gets really loud - must not be able to keep the oil pressure up like it used too. Anyone have any input or any ideas?
  13. Looks like Sydneykid was right - the lifters were the cause of the issue.. i changed them and its much better now. Does not make noises at 3000rpm in 5th gear on cruise anymore. I changed the cams as well - but time will tell if the noise comes back or whatever.. its till there if you rev it sometimes but its clear now that i have to go to solids. See what happens.. gotta get some cam seals and replace the timing belt next weekend!! what a mission
  14. Sydneykid has been working these RB30DET's since pussy was a cat and he knows what he is talking about. He has been there done that and even though blocking the oil line caused me issues I still think that blocking the rear feed is the way to go. Have you ever seen how much smoke half a litre of oil can make when it gets sprayed over your hot red extractors ??? (No there was no fires) The oil needs to be controlled and it has to be slown down to get to the top of the engine. Now if this means that i have to get cams and solid lifters then I will. RB25's have ALLWAYS had problems with lifters and I just have really bad luck. So i will work it out - hopefully the last set of lifters i put in were not in good condition and are not working properly (they were not kept in oil and were dry as a bone) Will let see if changing the lifters fix my problem tomorrow. If it does then hello 20psi
  15. take the head off and check the head gasket and PRAY
  16. There are 2 issues here 1: all the oil goes up to the top of the engine and you get none down the bottom and it causes bottom end engine failure. 2: all the oil goes up to the top and escapes out of the engine and fills your catch can in seconds. So putting more oil in the engine could cause more oil to escape into the catch can wouldn't it ?
  17. Well Said GeeTR Maybe just a aluminium cover for the front bar with holes drilled in it to restrict the air flow so it does not ram air into the AFM. That might be the go...
  18. Thats what i was thinking.. a box that is not sealed so it can get cold air as well as not have so much pressure at the same time. See how it goes at the moment the piece of cardboard is working wonders
  19. We built my RB30DET back in early 2004 - there was only a few pages of the RB30DET thread at that stage.. So it is a learning curve.. I have allready pulled my engine out and put the tomei restrictor in and it caused my lifter issue.. So it will be interesting to see if you guys get the same issues OR maybe my lifters are nearly dead and yours might be ok. Sydneykid: QUOTE Lastly oil pump, if the oil pump is not achieving maximum oil pressure (and therefore flow) by 3,000 rpm, then you have an oil pump problem. Revving the engine to higher rpms should not result in higher oil pressure. If it does, then you have an oil pump problem that needs to be fixed. ---- Can you please give me some ideas on how i can test for this. If i need a new oil pump then i will get one for this weekend and change it while i do my lifters and cams and timing belt.... Thanks ****EDIT UPDATE**** the issue was allways with the bottom end. the restrictor had nothing to do with the lifter noise what so ever. I rebuilt the engine with a totally forged bottem end and used the same lifters and oil restrictor and the engine is fine. no ticking no lifer pump nothing. SO to confirm with everyone no need to worry - using the 1.5m restrictor and totally blocking off the other oil feed works 100% and was not the cause of my issue. Spun bearings was my issue.
  20. thats a interesting idea.. i am just going to make it so air can go in and out of the box easily so its allways got fresh air in it and have the air filter sitting below the air flow
