  2. Need 2 wheels - tyres not important. Sydney only - pref northish near hornsby - or newcastle or central coast.
  3. clean and regap your existing plugs to .8 - you will be suprised. sounds like you could be hitting your air flow cut. time to invest in some management

  5. If you are thinking about putting the head straight onto the rb30et block standard then it wont work. HOWEVER if you change the pistons to the NA spec then it will be ok. The pistons in the rb30et are too low compression and the NA pistons should be used. If you rebuild the rb30et block and put forged pistons in it to raise the compression up to the same for NA then it will be good.
  6. during the day try turning your headlights on for about 5 minutes and drive around and see if you can hear the rattle. it could be the altinator on its way out

  9. I am looking and getting some white globes for my R33 - but not sure what ones to get. Are they type H1 H3 ???? I need to know the exact type they use so I can buy some globes - i know what they look like when i buy them from the shop but i need the technical type for them. What are high beam and low beam ? types and what wattages are exceptable for low beams ?
  10. I think i know the person you are talking about. The story I heard from the horses mouth is that after the massive crater it created in the road it smashed through the floor as well.. Quite a mess. I heard that the workshop is fixing everything and that there are no problems at all. Even after all this Glen still recommended i get one of these clutch's because they are one of the best you can buy... (maybe when i can afford it lol)

  12. Please read this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=110680 There is ALL the information you need to know about putting the correct oil restrictors on your engine. I put mine in about 2 months ago now and took heaps of photos for everyone to see. After putting in the restrictors I hardly ever get any oil blow by like i used to before and my oil light never comes on when going hard around corners or breaking heavily (which can cause bottom end failure) IMO it is manditory that a high performance RB engine has restrictors.

  15. the light will turn on for about 5 seconds then turn off when you get in the middle of the line then it will come back on and stay on when you have about 10 litres left i think. You get plenty of notice on a r33 (so im told) ive done 30 ks when the light came on and turned off again

  17. I love the RB engines. They are great. especialy a rb30det =) But if anyone asked me what is cheaper to get power from the 1J wins hands down. Ive got friends with less mods then me making much more power then me. Its not fair. I have already blown one engine (which is why i went to the 3 litre) and there still making more power then me on there original engine. *shrug* I still wont buy toyota because im a Datsun man through and through but I must say Toyota dont do too bad for a Toyota
  18. ive seen a 1jz running 14.5 af ratio's turn 406rwkw on 28 psi with stock engine. still running today. All it had was a gt3540 82r with 38mm gate hks manifold exaust cooler 2j injectors and a safc. He dont run it that high every day though lol

  20. I have seen mine read 150 or even 211 once... Be nice to fix it....
  21. Start up knock of 40 ? woah mine goes up to 10 on startup. I did hear that if your knock sensors are screwed in too tight it can be very sensitive. I put mine on pretty much finger tight and it made no difference. Anyone have any ideas how to get knock sensors working properly???
  22. Mine has been knocking at over 100 for the last 2 years and I have NEVER been able to get it to stop reading knock. Every time i hammer it i will get a reading from 30 - 100 no matter who tuned my car - if i do it myself or if i get someone else to do it nothing changes. C&V Tuned my car last and he said to ignore the knock sensor readings because its not knocking on the dyno but it is reading high knock. I would really like to get this fixed and get some kind of readings happening again so if it does actually knock I will know about it. I noticed that my knock sensors started to read high knocks after i got over 300rwhp - when i had less then 300rwhp it was not sooo sensitive.
  23. Exactly the same mate. The 3582r is the same as a gt3540 with a .82 rear housing - hence the 82 on the end. Anyway ive got a GT3540 and i put it on my r33 thinking it was simple. How wrong was i. I ended up having to purchase all this extra stuff. Exhaust manifold Inlet Plenum Intercooler and pipes Injectors Oil and Water lines (went to braided items) Megga expensive. If i could go back to where you are now I would and I would get a nice bolt on hks turbo kept my old setup and drive away in no time at all. Instead i had to have the car off the road for 7 months while i saved and purchased all the extra items. But now that its all over - I got a 3 litre btw - I have a setup that if tuned properly i could bag way over 300rwkw. But atm im sitting on 260rwkw and very happy on the street. My lag is not very huge because i have a 3 litre.. i get full boost 16psi by about 3300rpm which is damn nice on the street. Try one of them kkr turbo's or something.. cheap and easy and get nice power. good luck with it.
  24. I had this problem with my car. it ended up being the bottom end its weird and it would blow HEAPS of white smoke on idle yes ?? Did this happen as soon as you turned the car on ? or only after you got it tuned ?
  25. Its like a compression test - they test the engine and can tell if it is internally damaged or not. Take it to a good mechanic
