Hey mate. I think i know the problem. Do you have a big turbo on the car? Do you have the AFM so close to the turbo ? Do you have a big AFM ? Please give info on ALL mods to car. Does it blow lots of smoke when it happens ? please advise

the whole reason why i enjoy destroying them so much is the fact that 1: every holden driver thinks there car came straight from bathurst and it can beat anything on the road 2: they all get VERY pissed off when you flog them 3: there reaction and the look on there faces IS GOLD. 4: they allways try again. I dont like holdens. they are shit. but beating them is sooo muchh fun!!! The sticker on the back would be cool cos it would just rub it in that much more =)

Shane We are mainly talking about a RB26 with quad TB. I have driven a car for 3 years with a Microtech and even had one running in my skyline for a couple of months. They dont drive anywhere near as good as a standard computer on the street on cruise or anywhere near as good as a tuned Power FC. Depends what you want from your car to what ecu you use. If i had my way I would have a Autronic.

Last night on the way home from work i was sitting behind this falcon ute and noticed a interesting sticker on the rear window "Shhh!! I am hunting Lions " then it had the holden sticker after it. I laughed my head off. I love this sticker. I want one for my line. Anyone know where I can get one ?? has anyone seen this sticker before ?? I am thinking they made it up...

Sots car has a completly different engine to yours and it a single cam rb30. your engine should feel better to drive or there would be something wrong. Plug the standard computer in and then test compared to a microtech and you will know what we mean.

on this topic sydkid if you dont have a BOV at all and you come off the throttle the air still does come out the front of the turbo.. would it go back out the AFM backwards ?? if it does then will the engine compensate the fuel mixtures for this ?

are you blind ? my post was the first post and it states that it can be hooked up with the stock computer and it can work.

yeah the oil with help with it. my gt3540 felt a little sloppy but now when is switch car off it spins down for over 30 seconds and it feels much better

Microtechs are not such a bad ecu. My issues with them compared to a PFC is. Map sensor - does not drive on the street like a power fc or a quality ECU (Autronic or Motec) Lack of knock sensor monitoring Microtechs are good for wankels or a FJ20 / whatever any type of older engine that you want to through them at. When you start getting into RB25DET's RB26DET's or any newish engine a microtech can destroy the way the car drives. Has anyone tried to tune a Microtech ?? they are SOOO easy to tune its not funny I can tune one easily on the street and it would be even quicker on a dyno. Tuning a PFC is much harder. I noticed with the microtech that you cant get the AF ratios spot on 100% of the time like you can with a power FC on cruise - you can get them close and close is good enough in most cases but with a Power FC you can be pretty sure that your going to get the same AF ratio on the same load point time after time (as long as everything else is the same fuel / air temp etc etc) I would suggest anyone who has a skyline above a r31 should go for a Power FC and stick with the AFM. I run a Q45 90mm AFM. My opinion is that the AFM will allways sense map position better then a map sensor for the main reason that all the air must travel through the AFM and its read before even going into the turbo. The map sensor uses a really small line that only senses pressure in the line so how long does it take for the computer to get the right signal ?? wouldnt it be a little lagged ??? Just does not feel as safe to me (IMHO its MY opinion) to rely on such a small line to run your engine - this would be the reason why the microtechs dont run as good as the Power FC on the street in cruise as it does not get the correct signal in time ??? Anyway whatever you choose.. Go the Power FC.

try gap your plugs to .6 see how that goes

You can get a microtech to work good on a piston engine but you wouldnt destroy a 32 33 34 gtr or gtst with one. they have to be re tuned quarterly BUT they make big power. If BIG power is all you want and you dont intent to drive your car around the streets the microtech may be the way to go.. Otherwise your wasting your time. get a jetro Power FC and be done with it.

You are frigging crazy if your going to destroy such a nice car with a microtech. your driveability will go out the window.. sure you can still get heaps of power.. but it will drive like crap! you can wire it up with the stock computer so it would work.. but the big question is.. why wouldnt you go for a PFC or something decent for such a nice car?
