  1. You should think yourself lucky. He refused to build my RB30DET because he is tooo busy with his own projects etc etc. Here is a reply of an PM back in September 2003 "Sorry Guilt-Toy we have a very busy schedule with race car preparation for the Bathurst races (1000 and 2 Hour).   2. I think that you will find that your main killer is the 60 ft. every point taken off the 60ft = to 2 points at the end of the track. So if you get your 2.5 down to 2.0 you will shave up to a whole second off your time which is much more realistic for your power. With my rb30det with a small turbo (not stock) i was making about 210 rwkw and i managed to get a 12.9 at 108mph. i did 4 runs 13.3sec with 2.3 2.2 60ft as soon as i got a 2.0 60 ft i ran the 12. Look into it. Because it will help HEAPS if you fix your 60ft.

  4. Hey mate The VL turbo and bigger FJ20 turbo uses the .63 size which is on the bigger side of average for T3. Some come in .48 etc etc. Boost will come on much later because of the bearings and wheel designs.. sometimes up to 3300rpm or later. Your better off staying away from the T3 style turbo's as they usually make your skyline slower then what the standard turbo can offer (old trim types and bush bearings) I put a VL turbo on my car with a T4 front wheel with a .64 rear housing and it made the car slower. So be carefull when playing with these types of turbos on skylines.. I would go for a GCG highflow or a HKS style BB turbo for best results.
  5. Just be carefull when you get onto the F3 at hexham and your going towards sydney (last 2 hours of trip) there is a 90 zone... Cops love that 90 zone. So when the speed changes from 110 to 90 on the freeway DO 90 =)

  10. Datsun 180b 4 door $80 job that mum got me when i was 14.. Used it to learn how to drive and go sideways and drift. Loved it.. Few repair jobs (starter motor etc) Awesome little car.. ended up with a Blue bird as my first road car then got a 180bsss with a 300hp FJ20DET and now the 33 =)
  11. It only does it under light load for croozing as soon as you load it up it will unlock. Maybe if you can change it i would go another 300rpm lower for better fuel economy.
  12. The 33 auto will lockup in top gear on crooze. Normally happens over 80ks an hour which is there to help fuel economy. When driving the car you can count the gears... 1st 2nd 3rd overdrive when your in overdrive and croozing you will notice the revs dropping 200rpm and the revs will feel more direct manul like. The converter locks up so that there is no slip in the engine revs which wastes fuel. So it kinds feels like the 33auto is a 5 speed because you get 5 changes if you know what i mean. They are a pretty good auto...

I have to tell you how well with controller works on my skyline got a 700hp gt3540 with a 38mm ext gate 3l bottom end Went to C&V for a tune and everyone there was very skeptical about using that boost controller on my car with those kind of mods except the tuner Con who said "i will allways try something once" We put it on and set it and the boost curve was just perfect. Con could not believe how well these boost controller works. The curve looks like something an eboost will hold. So yeah if anyone wants to use this on a externaly gated turbo it worked for me.
  16. Was driving the rb25/30 today and it started to make this sound that sounded like a tingy sound in the exhaust Then the car started missing for a bit then it came good again.. Then it started missing and i got home. When i switched it off for 2 minutes and turned it back on again the miss went away and it idled happily for 2 minutes without any issues. So i sat the revs on 2500rpm and it started making this really loud noise right at the top of the engine near number 5 then started missing again. There is no smoke commin from the oil cap when missing or not... It sounds like a really high pitched tap / clacking sound. Anyone got any ideas what it could be ??? Im starting to think its the intake lifter on cyl 5 Every time i switch the car off and turn it back on again the miss goes away untill its reved.. if you let it miss for about 20 seconds or so sometimes the miss goes away again. Could it be coil packs or a plug or something ? how would that explain the clucking sound? Any ideas would be appreciated
  17. I had a about 5k of parts sitting around at Turbotechnics for a while and NEVER had any problems. Infact parts i left there 12 months ago are still there waiting with my name on it. Thats the way a workshop should be anyone who goes there will know what i mean.
  18. Il road tune your skyline if you dont have too many mods for around $200 If you want me to do it on a dyno I will do it at $100 an hour. Not interested in anything too modified anything up to around 230rwkw's I do it for fun. I can do Apexi PFC and Microtech no worries...
  19. They had no insurance. they have closed down. The guy is broke. You cant get blood from a stone. Well Don is pretty upset about the whole ordeal. Apparently they stuffed his car as well. hacked the crap otta it and didnt even put the rb26 in properly. He is really over it and does not even have any high performance cars anymore. I feel sorry for him as he was one of the decent ones around town. Its f**ked.
  20. Yeah mate been back on the road for over a month now.. Just got the beast tuned on sat morning and the dif did not like the extra power / torque. its sooo loud now hopefully it will be changed tomorrow or monday. made 260rwkw on 16psi and apparently my turbos efficiency range is from about 19 psi so I am just tickling the turbo atm. I just wanted to go up in stages see how the engine / car handles it.. Lucky we only tuned it to 260rwkw or the dif coulda blown completly on the spot... at least i can go to work and back now.. (have not seen 1psi of boost for about 500k's) because if i do I could get stuck lol After i sort everything out il go for 300rwkw

  22. I spoke to Don the other night and he said that he got little compensation. He has sold the R34 and he is selling the rb26 now. Such a shame indeed.

  24. Ring Turbotechnics in Cardiff Newcastle and talk to Anthony. He has done a few rb30det's as well as mine. He will probly just drill it and put a bung in it like mine (welds can crack and come loose) and organise you the oil lines you need. Phone him on 49565466 tell him Anthony with the burgandy skyline sent you. might be a bit of a drive but im tellin ya he will get it right the first time
