Dropped the RB30DET in last night.. ohhh it looks sooo damn sexy.. hopefully we can get it running tonight!!! Im pretty excited shame I have to run it in and cant hammer it straight away how different will the rb30det sound and how different will it be to drive? ohhh RB30DET

Yeah man was in Newy.. he was sooo pissed off.. His head was like a cherry.. I made a point of flogging his crappadores arse... its pretty funny cos the datto had IRS and leaves 2 nice black marks on fish tail... Beating commodores is a hobby of mine... Ive had quite a few bad experiences with them but that makes it all that much more fun IMHO. Once i pulled up at the lights in my old Datsun 180B SSS DR30 FJ Powered gtr cooled rah rah rah.. had this dick in a commodore pull up to me and stare.. him and his gf thort it was funny that I was driving such a car revving his car up wanting to race me.. I was pissed and could not help myself. Little to his surpise this little datto took off fish tailing out from my lane into his back to mine into his pulling away like buggary. At the next set of lights the baseball batt was a bit too much honestly mate... Lucky i had a left turn on red and a bit over a bar behind my belt Commodores suck. they are rubbish. but they are starting to look pretty cool IMHO. Too bad they have been taken over by ****wash's -
Would a VL Turbo box be as strong as a RB25DET box ?

Why dont we use the VLT box in our cars instead of the double priced rb25det box ? does it fit into a R33 ?? -

I allways thort the Jetro was a NON AFM Power FC that had a inbuilt map sensor only available for GTR's Thats what Nengun told me anyway because I wanted one for the gtst and he couldnt supply.

This is a interesting question because the rb25de does not have VCT where the DET does. The main difference between the rb20det and rb25det is the use of VCT & different imp injectors and you cant use a rb25det PFC on a rb20det unless its modded by AP Engineering. Maybe a programable RB20DET ecu would be the go ? Id be interested to know if a PFC would work on this or not...

I got a staino water can and pump with 10psi hobbs pressure switch and installed it all myself. put the hobs switch into the inlet pipe and mounted the car under the driver side front bar. As soon as it hits 10psi the water switches on which was injected via a garden spray nozzle into the turbo blades (well just after the AFM is where i had it running into) After i upgraded the intercooler and pipes and turbo i converted it into a intercooler water spray system. I did some tests with the water injection, and I could advance the boost and timing up heaps with the water on with NO detonation, but as soon as i switched the water off the apexi PFC knock would go off its nut. You gotta be carefull cos i think the water injection was part of the reason my bores got glazed because it wash's the oil off the bores... but my engine had done 190,000ks had had about 220rwkw when I pulled it down to do the rb30 conversion.

I wreckon you should. 1: FMIC & 2.5" or 3" pipes 2: Air Filter & some sort of cold air induction 3: Full exaust dumpipe and back 4: Apexi Power FC Tuned with Boost controll. Those mods should take you into the 350 flywheel horse power easy. Keep the standard turbo and only use 15 psi untill you get more money later on and bolt on the turbo and injectors and your off. Later on you can get a GCG turbo for around $1000 (non ball bearing) and just use a malpassi and you would be over the 300rwhp mark for sure!! I made 285rwhp with Small Supra front mount VL Turbo with t4 front wheel machined in ($700 turbo) exaust from dump pipe back (standard dump) cold air induction with K&N Power FC malpassi not running very much extra pressure Water injection into the turbo My limit was definatly the Intercooler as it was pretty small, but still a front mount.

You can only push a Malpassi soo far before it harms the injectory spray. I have heard a few people on this forum tell about stock rb25det injectors doing over 400rwhp. Every car is different i guess.... There is a thread that shows that rb25 injectors running a little extra pressure do 440cc which is not a small flow rate really when you think about it. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=47081

I would wait a little longer and get Option 3 & 4 at the same time. Seeing you have a boost controller and how much standard computers HATE being over boosted and hit boost cut (biggest pain in the arse) Get a FMIC first, run low boost then get a computer asap after. best off with an PFC

I did not think people in Australia were modding R33 computers yet, i know they can in Japan. So you would be stuck with the tune you get ? Id go the Apexi Power FC option for sure!

Is the car completly stock? Im thinking... $1200 for intercooler kit (can be done cheaper) $1000 for PFC $800 for exaust & dump pipe $2000 for a turbo $300 for fuel pump $400 for a tune Looks right on the money to me

wouldnt 400rwhp be between 550 - 600hp @ flywheel? What i find hard to believe is that a standard rb30e bottom end with cast pistons with a proper tune can do that kind of power. Anyway 400rwhp would be where I call it a day.... but then again.. i said that about 300rwhp lol this boost virus is very hard to shake

yeah but 350rwkw.. that is serious power... I would like to see my engine do 350rwhp to 400rwhp max. 400rwhp would be near useless on the street anyway so its just a big wank factor imho
