13.4 second 1/4 for your 'stockish' R33. (A how to guide).
Guilt-Toy replied to rev210's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
with the stock turbo the best time i got with the auto was a 13.59 then i installed the T3 / T4 combo and it went down to flat 14's. Then i installed the manual 5 speed and it went down to 13.02 13.02 13.10 13.28 The dif ratio helps heaps because i get to wind it out in 4th heaps before the end of the quarter -

So you think if my Apexi speed meter is reading flat 13's then it should be correct for the type of mods ? -

what quarter mile should i get on my car ? 95 r33 gtst with series 2 engine (no ignitor box) Cold air induction sectioned off in engine bay / k&n filter supra round core front mount intercooler hks suppa dragger exaust (3") VL Turbo T3 high flowed with T4 front wheel running 10psi standard suspention with 235/40/18 standard computer apxi twin chamber BOV Automatic dif (4.3:1 instead of the standard manual 4.1:1) with 5 speed manual installed (i get a few seconds in 4th gear) If my speed meter read a 13.02 quarter & 4.71 0-100 would that be a fair call to go by ? or would it be wrong ? are you guys finishing the quarter mile at the end of third ? or just as you clip into 4th ? -
what about the round core supra intercoolers? black in colour? I have one on mine and it seems allright. Anyone have an opinion on those ? what would it be rated too power wise?

Standard R33 computer running 15PSI
Guilt-Toy replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You obviously did not read my post. The turbo is a steel rear wheel VL turbo with a T4 front wheel. It has a upgraded intercooler (Supra round core) & CAI setup with K&N Ive got a boost cut fuel cut defender Turbo smart that I want to install. I just want to know if the standard computers mixtures would still be OK at 15 PSI!!!! So no one has done mods to their car and kept the standard computer ?!? -
Standard R33 computer running 15PSI
Guilt-Toy replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
What kind of front mount ??? Anyone else?? -
Can this be done with the use of a fuel cut defender? They say that these things run really rich on boost so would the extra boost still run OK ? or will it run lean on anything over the boost cut and ping ?? I dont have the money for a upgraded computer right now and I want to squeeze a bit more performance outta it.. The intercooler is upgraded (supra round core) and so is the turbo (steel rear wheel T3 highflowed with t4 front wheel) Would it be worth installing the turbo smart fuel cut def? or just waiting for a S-AFC or something? is anyone using a standard computer on more then 13 PSI boost ? It is a series 2 engine Anyone have any idea how much you can get outta a standard computer?!?

Heres the holden drivers hidden passion

hahahahahahahahahahahhaaaa It would be good for US if skylines were so common in a way.. we would get heaps of cheap parts etc and cheap insurance!!! ahhh well its nice to dream -
No i dont have a g-force sensor.... its the old type that reads from the wheels. I try not to wheel spin but i find when I do i get worse times.
-
Reason why i ask is because ive got one on my R33 and i recorded a 13.02 & 13.00 and everyone is telling me that my 33 cant do those kinda times and that it must be totally out. Ive checked the speedo on the RSM and it seems fine. the speedo on the dash is wrong but the RSM is right. Are they 100% acurate? or just total garbage and im really doing 14's or something ? It even said 4.77 0-100 on a good launch..... I have the older Apexi one, not the Blue screened one... anyone have one of these and recorded it while at the strip to compare times ??? anyone have any ideas how to make sure they are accurate? (i dont have a drag strip available where i live)

I dont think anyone who has a skyline would part it for any holden.. Your better off flogging it onto a Holden lover. (plenty of them around) -
i was running up to 12 psi boost on mine. I have heard from many people that the JATCO auto gearbox in the jap cars are not good for anything over 180rwkw. You will spit it out like I did. Get a manual. you have a 4.3:1 dif ratio.. you will get a second difference down the quarter
-
i wreckon if i tried i could hit the speedo in less then 3 seconds to 100ks from stand still.. but it would be just huge wheel spin on rev limited second gear dump.... But when you do a 0-100 you dont drive it like that to get the fastest possible time

SAS / Silver water auto sports also can tune these There is a place in Perth who can tune this also so Judged said. Even without a tune there is a performance gain...

I saw ZEUS run in sydney... Zeus runs nice Its like my car.. but a GTR Ohhh and when i mean run.. i mean max speed of 60kmph
-
I would write a letter explaining the situation and it may not even go to court. Give it a try.
-
I was thinking... when reading.. "its a r33 you idiot.. you own a r33 as if you would drive it like that" People who drive fast / nice cars and actually own them for longer then 3 months deserve to have them.. Because they do still have them. Are you disciplened enough to drive boost ?!?

rego due in 2 weeks... will take any reasonable offer

I got my r33 as a auto. Mods are. HKS Suppa dragger exaust from dump pipe back Supra front mount intercooler timing advanced K&N air filter & M-spec front bad with cold air induction to filter sectioned off in engine bay I could put the car on SNOW (the auto button there is) then stall it up without wheel spin because its in second.. could get it to about 6psi of boost on the line then press power and take off at the same time kickback to first and off you go... take it easy though because you will wheel spin off the mark and make your times really slow. I have a apexi speed meter and the BEST i got with the standard turbo was 13.54 second quarter and 5.75 0- 100 I blew the auto (obvous reasons as they can only handle 170rwkw i wreckon i had a bit more) and put in a 5 speed and im very happy with the speed difference. look at the thread 0-100 on here and its explained more there.

EXACTLY. My mate has a s13 silvia and he took me for a drive and im thinking.. JEEESS YOU WOULD KICK THE SHIT OUTTA MY R33 gtst.. Had a race and i kicked him by 10 cars... Just because they feel powerfull doesnt mean they are.. Skylines are heavier and dont feel like your going.. Line them up together.. 33's are much better to drive in anyway..
-
hahahahahahahahaaa NICE!!!!!
-
ohhh.. best time with auto was 13.57 quarter mile and 5.75 0-100km/h Then i installed the high flow turbo which slowed the times down to 14.08 - 14.4 and 0-100 in 5.9 - 6 seconds. I dont know why the turbo upgrade SLOWED me down with the auto but it seems to be doing a awesome job with the 5 speed... Anyone have any ideas / explenations ?
