  1. Still waiting before i can post a update, but it will be a big one when i do.
  2. driving on the wrong side of the car is easy, its just trying to drift when it becomes a problem.. its just wrong. wrong wrong wrong.
  3. its been a while i know... but lots of shit is going on here... problem is that i cannot go into it right now.. but if all goes well.. i should be able to update very soon! the 350z is going good, i don't care what anyone says.. the good ol rb30dett kicks the pants off the v6 =) ! loving that car, but the 32... i am really fallin in love with... i put a hydro handbrake on it and took it for a drift at a small karting track in Dubai, but the power steering rack shit itself when my mate was trying out the car... kinda sucks as its a LHD rack which i imported myself from the usa, its out of a 300zx US spec, the rack cost me $80 on ebay but shipping cost over $200, and now it f**ked might try and get it repaired.... here are some pics, and a youtube video of my mate driving the car. and the r32 after a nice clean =) removed the GT-C's.. they are inside the house and will go back on in winter!
  4. what colour is the engine?
  5. you think its funny looking at plugs? lol.. ok then.
  6. post a pic of the plugs you destroyed... close up so i can read them.
  7. BCPR7ES is all you need. if you are damaging the plugs you have a problem with your setup or tune or something somewhere. get it checked out.
  8. got some really serious stuff going down, been a very eventful 2 weeks since i have been back... will post all about it as soon as i am able to.
  9. i think he was saying no traction.
  10. This man. He knows he knows.
  11. actually no.. it all depends on the setup on the car. because its a afm based ecu its possible the ecu does not know the difference from 20 - 25psi boost. make sure your tuner takes this into consideration.
  12. here is the youtube video of them trying to use that power in the GTR in rwd..
  13. ok... here are some pics of the new dyno setup.... its not a improvement from the old setup but its better then nothing at all!! also here is some pics of a R33 with a adjustable bonnet scoop! it opens and closed with a setup that looks like a electric window winder... i got a video somewhere of it opening and closing... kinda spun me out.. kinda cool... ohhhh and a stupid thing that a mate and i wrote about tuning his r34 while we were at a Irish pub, drinking mexican / american beer in ex soviet georgia.... lol...
  14. so i been back in The Republic of Georgia (ex soviet union, thanks paul... lol) its been great to be back to be honest... not really interested in doing much tuning since i been back, not that most of the people here could afford me anyway.. i been really really enjoying the weather!!! the cheap booze and the chicks here are sooo f**king sexy... fark... don't see girls like this in UAE unless you go to Dubai i guess.... I just finished tuning the car that i was paid for comming here to tune, its a long story but here goes.... Back when i was living here there was a really known car accident, 4 kids died in a BMW M3, they were racing a merc on one of the main roads, this main road has a big ass tree every 3 meters and the road is very unstable.... Inside the car 2 brother died inside the car, and another one or 2 guys.. not sure.. all under 20 years old.. their family are wealthy and the car was purchased by the parents... anyway before the accident the kids came to our workshop and enquired about buying a Vi-pec ecu for their wrx... they wanted to buy one to tune their STI, with a 2.5 block... I still remember the day when his father came to our little workshop and asked to buy the vi-pec to finish the build for his son as a memory... i swear to god i will never ever forget the look on his face... the look said a million words without anything having to be said.... just looking at him was hard... he purchased the ecu from us and by the time the car was ready i left the country and moved to the UAE. Anyway after some time past the car was ready and they were keen to get the car going, but the tuner who was trying to start the car in Georgia could not even start the car, then they offered me to go over there.... to be honest it was hard to say to no to him, because of what happened also the weather in the UAE is really hot atm so i decided to come back for a week for a break... weather here is awesome!!! i have had such a great time! do not regret it at all!!! I looked at the STI the same day that i got here, after i put the vi-pec in the case i managed to start it in a few minutes and the guy was on his way to do a 3000km run in period (the engine builder insisted) anyway i just tuned the car, as we were going down the road where the accident happend the father was driving me, and said "you know this is catatrophe here", i remember where it was and knew what he was talking about.... after comming back from tuning on low boost we were going past the same place and he just dropped it in third gear and boosted the shit outta it, gt35r custom forged ej25 in a sti on 6psi it was flying... kinda scared the shit outta me... but the more i think about it... it was his way to express to his sons that he finally finished their project and that meant alot to him.... we tuned it on .9 bar boost which was enough for the customer and everyone was happy..... tomorrow morning i will fly back to the uae, so it will be back to the sauna and bad cheap bingali / pakistani / indian made food... its ok when i make my own food though.... so yeah... il post some pics up... since i been here a tuned a few cars but not many... one R32 GTR with a t04z with nistune and another r34 gtt with some custom gt35r with precision housing... the 32 had about 320kw at wheels on low boost and the 34 had 300kw at wheels on low boost.... just looking where they have put the Dyno Dynamics dyno, wow im suprised any dyno could work in these conditions, and this one working without no faults what so ever!!! even though its sucking sooo much dust and shit that it would be enough to kill anything???? anyways.... will try to post these pics soon...
  15. yeah dude, its piss easy... pm me il tell you want to do.
  16. I am going back to Georgia for a week tonight, there is a car i need to tune there, some WRX, they are payin me for it all expenses paid so its a good excuse to get away from the 40 - 45deg c heat. will post some pics... will be a shock to the system going back there thats for sure. they opened the new race track there so it will be interesting, and get to see some old friends
  17. yeah well good luck with it dude, i am sure you will have issues with false positives, wide band sensors can sometimes give bad readings on a run and also the fuel pressure may spike a voltage without it actually losing pressure like the voltage suggests and your engine will cut out while you are trying to get out in traffic, or make that gap infront of that truck? it could seriously f**k you up dude nothing worse then the engine switching off when you need it the most, its murphys law its going to bite you on the ass believe me. seriously man, the only one i would connect to a kill switch is oil pressure. even then i probly would not even bother. it can however be handy for logging purposes only.
  18. i have seen the vi-pec version that link made, and its very nice. HOWEVER i never used it, we sold it to someone else. I don't even use my K-MON anymore, reason being is that you can buy all these fancy tools and listen to whats going on inside the engine but at the end of the day if you really know how to tune you don't need it, you can feel when something is up and the engine is not behaving correctly, and the engine will not knock unless the user does something stupid or you use cheap bullshit parts that changes state. just tune and go. forget all the bullshit. i will only listen to the engine after i think something is wrong and i have time to stuff around with it. same with all your sensor output functions, its all a big wank, if you build your setup PROPERLY you don't need all that bullshit. just get a incar fuel pressure gauge and a oil pressure gauge and you will notice when something changes.
  19. the motec is still a decent unit... the cal file switching on the motec is far better then any map switching on the vi-pec... on motec you can switch whole cal files and multiple tunes for different cars on the one ecu buy flicking a switch instead of loading the map with software like you have to do with the link / vi-pec, and you can actually switch the cal files while the car is running, so in the nissan patrols what i do with the motec is we put race fuel in the sub tank, and put pump fuel in the main tank, we use the sub tank switch to switch the race gas / pump gas cal files in the motec.... so they are cruising down the highway, a ferrari is commin up, push the switch, cal file and fuel changes automatically, wait 15 seconds for the pump gas to exit the surge tank and race gas starts flowing to the fuel rail, f**k the ferarri a few times then switch it back to pump gas and they are on their way! but appart from that... i have to think really hard to find any other things that the motec has over the Vi-pec or haltech.
  20. a tool is only as good as the person using it. and clearly you and your "team members" have not RTFM, or have any idea how to calibrate an ecu whatsoever. take your hating elsewhere. "my flex commodore wont work with diesel, holdens are rubbish mate, i had to remove it and put petrol back in it ahhhhuhhhh hehha heeeee" idiot internet trolls, why do i bother.
  21. hell no, i use open loop.
  22. they should all be the same price
  23. who the hell is walk510? and why does his posts look like that? im not even going to bother reading his posts. i never use the closed loop boost control, some people don't like change or can be bothered with it.
  24. like i said before mate, the link is just a re-badged vipec but it has a few less options. those options that the vipec has that the link does not are not required for your application so choose whichever one your tuner deals in. also the link does NOT have peek and hold drivers on the storm _OR_ the extreme where the vipec v44 and v88 does. if you look on the link website it says that it has saturated drivers, not peek and hold, there was a version of the extreme (earl silver colour models) that did have peek and hold drivers but it was dropped back to saturated drivers, the web site was updated when this happened but the pdf specifications sheet it a little outdated. basically if your going to upgrade your injectors at a later date, the vipec will give you more options without having to wire in fugly resistors like you will NEED to do with the low end Link product. so just go with what your tuner will sell you, he will love you for it if you buy the ecu through him as it puts more money in his pocket so he will give you a better tune and be more into your car that way. as for the motec vs link product, i tune both ecu's, infact ive tuned more motecs then vi-pecs and I am a vipec dealer, and i prefer the vipec any day of the week for any application, its much nicer to use and much more fun, (yes work is fun when you have the right tools) sometimes i need to fraps the motec screen when doing a run on high hp cars because the motec does not have logging on standard without having to pay extra money, and customers do not understand that its needed in many cases and they don't have any options opened on the motec, when the vi-pec / link has everything opened out of the box! motec has been around longer and they know how to market their product, yes they up there with the best but that does not make them the best good luck mate. gt
