  1. i have been running wasted spark on a set of splitfires for about 5 years now. The coils will have NO issues in wasted. turn logging on, and log it when it misses, you might be getting some bogus rpm signals, this is because the 360 optical sensor is really hard for the ecu to cope with especially in a modified engine, i found that cars with modded heads, springs and cams have more issues with this then stock head setups. check the rpm signal, see if its stable, hold the rpm at one speed and then see if it goes up and goes down in the log, make a log when the car misses, is the rpm jumping over the rev limiter? or is it moving about strangly? You may need to contact autronic, buy a trigger disk for nissan optical sensors and install it, I have done this to 3 cars in the last 2 months to fix the same issues, the issue is not haltech specific its the fault of the 360 slot hall setup. the trigger disc should cost about $100 or so, i had to put one in my RB30DET after i changed the cams, before the cams i had no issues...
  2. guys its a Dynojet dyno, you can pretty much take 100hp off that figure comparing to the real dynos, think of it as a engine hp figure not whp.
  3. grab a set of falcon coils in wasted spark
  4. yeah they do.. and they suck because they use steering box's from maximas and ultimas... feels like driving a camry. i put a us spec 300zx one in my r32 and it was better but im having binding issues
  5. gets a thumbs up from me... over here we convert them from RHD to LHD... keep up the good work mate
  6. hehehee... Jono allways had a way with words... cheers mate =) even if it was lagged a few years! must be runnin a 500mm compressor tonight Basically without SAU, my GLT-00Y and all the adventures all those years, I have had more then my fair share of noob moments on here, i remember i joined here because i got run off the road by a big semi trailer and smashed 2 of my nice crome wheels back in 2002 only weeks after buying the car.... without SAU id never be where I am today. Was looking for some stock wheels and info on other wheels that fit.... Anyways... cheers to SAU and all its members, big or small... short or long... black or white... ummmm yuddah yuddah yuddah... Just keep flying that Nissan flag!
  7. so i found this pic on facebook, someone in Georgia made it... its pretty funny, they are finally catching on... The last picture was taken at the same event where i posted a pic of my r33 a few pages back, it was called "Drift King" that was the winner. Good ole Georgia ohhh and took the R32 out on the F1 track again for some drifting...
  8. check the clutch on your engine fan.. it might not be spinning the fan fast enough.
  9. it could be the dowels that locate the bell housing to the block.... check if they are missing?
  10. have a look in the sticky section, there is a huge thread about e85 that has been going on for years!
  11. they are the dowels that locate the head to the block. just try and slot them into your head, that will answer your question
  12. because you are asking this question, i think its better if you just buy another rb25 and slot it in with the least amount of problems.
  13. Put all walbro's in the bin. that is all.
  14. So today a Supra came in that i tuned last year, the guy sold it to someone in Oman, owned it a week and they screwed with it, changed the plugs and done something with the fuel system.. So after doing some investigation we put the old plugs back in, whacked the car on the dyno and it was leaning out, checked the pumps and worked out 1 was not working, it has a big fuel system, 2 044's and a greddy marked swirl tank. So i quoted the guy for 2 new 044's then when we were installing them we realised they were not a direct fit, so I compared the new pumps to the old ones and what do you know!!! CHINA!!! Finally found the china 044 pumps that I heard about and compared them together, there are quite a few differences, the quality you can tell straight away, the pressure end has a smaller outlet and the bolt is smaller also, the + and - on the other side where you connect the power, well it barely looks like a + anyway, they were also not marked with any serial numbers or model's or anything, and there was a considerable amount of weight difference between the 2. Here are some pictures, luckily the car welcomed the new pumps and no engine damage was done this time, but it needed a full re-tune. 2 fake china's on the ends and the genuine 044 in the middle. Its good to be aware of this, the 2 of them together did flow enough power for 600hp at rear wheels on a 2jz with a t51r on lowish boost, but whats the point when they can fail anytime? So yeah had to share this with everyone!
  15. the back of the tacho in the dash board... Cluster is the enclosure that the speedo / tacho / temp gauge etc etc is.
  16. this happened to me, years ago.... except we built the engine and ran it like that. What ended up happening is that the collar wore through the back plate of the timing gear, then that caused the balancer to come lose, the balancer started to flop around and it destroyed itself, also it destroyed the crank, then keyway was screwed in the crank. Nothing i could to but replace the crank, then the new crank that came back from the same engine builder was the same! the collar was sitting over the crank itself. It was only after looking at the new crank for 1 hour trying to work out what happened when i figured it all out! was pretty happy i did not have to go all around and rip the motor appart again for a third time??? I took it back and asked him just to machine it flat so that collar is flush with the crank, 5 years and 160,000km later and all is still good. (inspected it a couple of months ago) good work for picking it up, saved yourself alot of cash and time etc etc... mine is not grub screwed, and its still working like a charm..
  17. connect the consult to the car... goes it think its in neutral no matter if you put it in gear or not?
  18. springs.... I was making 380kw at wheels with springs that were 360,000km old from a RB25 vct head. GTR springs are much better then rb25 ones.. I have upgraded since the new cams went in.
  19. I am starting to think that the issue is the turbo's. Don't matter if it was ok on 25psi before, fact is that your turbo's were out of puff before on 25psi, and when you free'd up the engine a little the turbo's are out of puff on 20psi and still making the same power because its flowing its maximum amount of air. remember boost is your mortal enemy, the less boost you run the better. Don't compare your -5 results to other peoples, different cars, different engines, different elevaion, different dyno's... etc etc so please don't tell me (ohhh but it should be making X amount of HP) this is tuning not maths. An engine is a big air pump, the more air that goes in and out the more power you will make, so you had your turbos running at its max air flow and instead of upgrading them you just made it easier for them to flow the same amount of air at a lesser boost pressure, which is a mod done well if you ask me! If you want to move forward in power then upgrade those turbo's. Grab a big single T51r or something and then start pumping some serious air into the engine or leave it how it is and be happy with what you got.
  20. post me a pic of the dyno graph.. power vs afr, also a boost one if possible.
  21. not available anymore. unless you want to pay shipping from UAE.
  22. Was talking to the guy who made the manifold today... and then his friend came up to me.... I told him the old china manifold i had for many years, and now the new manifold made alot of extra power.... he had a big smile on his face... and said.. "now you know the difference of something made in china or something Indian made" Sorry i been a bit lazy in this thread latly.. Will have some more cool stuff soon.... atm we got a few nissans in the shop, 2 us spec 240sx's... and a r33 i have some triggering issues with.... also the drag pro series is back this month!
  23. hahahahaa... down the road braaaahhh
  24. Since i have had a china manifold for all these years, it was time for a upgrade on the old RB25/30 in the R32... So here are some pics of how it was made... Its been since put on the car and it makes some decent power, had no idea how crappy the china manifold was! i picked up about 50hp on the same boost. now it makes 493hp on 1.2 bar. Even the flange was made in house, it takes some time but its one very strong stainless manifold!
