just go to the station, fill the car up while its popping. after you put a fuel talk, does the popping go away? also take picture of your intake pipes and post them up please. -

I have many ideas.... but lets start with this... Warm the car up, make it so its popping on idle... then... go to the petrol station, don't stop the engine and fill the tank with 98 to the brim. Post back results. -

here are 2 videos of a guy in the republic of georgia, he got this car knowing there was issues with the ecu / wiring. It kept burning the ecu out and no one could fix it, but he thought he could. After wasting alot of money and not being able to fix it, this was his solution. So... Here is a preview of the mentality of these guys. Imagine his frustration to result to this? he was soooo angry. Life far away from home. -

yep. i just took it out 10 minutes ago and burned more rubber.... but they oil pump issues do not exist so bad on rb30 cranks then they do on rb26's. -

the dirty thirty has still not been cracked open! -
just a tip, be VERY careful when you are removing the old coil packs and putting the new ones in, the little 8mm bolt can easily fall down and make its way into the timing cover from the back where the timing belt it, if that happens then you have NO choice but to pull appart the front of the engine to take it out, depending how far it goes down. Have seen this happen alot. Also when you are putting the coil packs in, dont dive in and remove them all in one go, because they all sit a different way, (the plug for the coil loom sits facing the front of the car or the back of the car) disconnect one and make sure which way it goes put the new one in and plug it in, then move onto the next one. this is not meant to scare you in anyway, just something to look out for so you dont get in trouble. good luck

hahaa.. thanks mate. I will eventually come home and continue tuning, when I do not know.. It has been a long journey so far (2 years since i put my car and the dyno in a shipping container in sydney), soon going to the states for some real advanced ecu training with some top tuners there, and some new ecu platforms as well. We have just started 2 new projets. Time for some R35 Skyline action! Cannot wait to get my hands inside the box's in these =) 4.2 strokers from the states, 2 x GTX30's... all will be fabricated and tuned inhouse. I just made a quick video of the r32, nothing big but it was fun.. i need a better camera man. and wow, this thread has had around 1000 views in the last week, I really want to thank everyone who has supported me and view's this thread, I have to say without SAU I would never be where I am today. So if you view the thread often post in it and let us know, il answer any questions, I am on facebook as well and have loads of pictures on there, and some videos as well. www.facebook.com/anthony.espinola Cheers guys Ohhhh and getting a new car tomorrow or day after... -

421rwhp on less then 20psi, car sounds great and it burns the tires pretty good =) Got boost control issues, its not going up when i tell it to. need to investigate solinoid and hoses and fix a exhaust leak on the manifold. is that good power for the s259 ? anyone know? -

check relay power to the ecu. make sure its wired correctly with correct parts. -

its a packed kit. do not have any pulleys for it. the headers and free flowing exhaust apparently brings the boost down a little also. we will get heads and get a pulley for it later on. depends on the customer -

no results yet, still trying to get my hands on 5 litres of 300v competition oil before loading it up, the turbo sounds great! just like a t51r! I know its not skyline related, but this is a car i tuned yesterday. -

ok good, so even if the solinoid is switched off the front cam is still getting a feed.. nice. thanks. -

Yes Okay, i pretty much blew the GT35r, i drove it for a while when it was half gone and then it jammed and wouldnt even spin, and started spitting oil This is my second GT35r on this car, they last less then 4 years, both turbos lasted 3 years each! sucks! is this normal for the BB GT series turbo's? So i got a new list of parts to install the car, what a perfect time! do it all together! Parts to go in motor! Nissan Infinity Throttle Body and backing plate Tomei adjustable cam gears x 2 Tomei 1.2mm head gasket (not needed) Tomei 270 cams, hydro types (no springs as of yet going to try my luck the lift aint too much on them) Bullseye 259 turbocharger Removed plenum, did this job myself.. had no cars to tune that night Throttle body plate welded to plazmaman plenum and nissan infinity throttle installed. its huge!! Bye bye stock cams, we have been through alot together! Summernats, power cruise, WSID, 3 different countries, all kinds of street racing and drifting, 10.8 seconds at 135mph - time to move onto some upgrades, emissions tests not needed here! Cams out! I decided to try my luck and find some parts to freshen up the cam train of the ol RB30DET, so i looked around, to my suprise i found some goodies to make everything back to new again! I could not believe it!!! 1x RB30DET cam belt, old stock Mitsubish diesel item, it had sooo much dust on it. (you wont find a RB25 one here but the 2530DET you can!) 1 x Timing belt tensioner 2 x cam front seals 1 x crank front seal Total price??? 175 UAE Dirams, converted to english ?? $51.00 AUD. FIFTY 1 DOLLARS. WTF.. Nissan parts are sooo cheap here! You guys are getting ripped back home! Also i snapped a cam cap bolt taking it out, the indians working in the shop found out, bring the big welder out and i start shitting the gear WTF?? they weld it up and put a bolt on it and remove it no problems, but finding a new bolt? i looked everywhere, called all the nissans and nothing.. then i had a silly idea to check if the nissan TB48DE cam bolts fit, and what do you know? EXACT FIT!!! but they have been changed and look stronger then the RB25 ones! and we have many of those in the spare bolts bin in the engine build room, WINNER!!! New cams installed, and ready to put back together Car should be running again, the turbo is a S259 bullseye, borg warner, i am after a good streetable drift setup, i hear from people with experience from this turbo that says on a cammed rb30det it should make full boost before 3000rpm and up to around 500rwhp, if so il be one happy man! Stay tuned for more updates, might add some water meth injection also. Anyone have any ideas what i should do with the solinoid of the VCT ? i want to remove the wires and use it for my water meth injection, can i just remove the solinoid and block it? leave it disconnected ? or connect it to ground perm? -
This issue brings back bad memories, got laughed at on dyno comps because i couldnt get more then 400hp, when i had a 500whp setup.. it was a very long haul for me and i have avoided pulling my timing belt off untill this week, and today it all started again! 4 years+ and 3 countries later and soo many dyno runs and drag races and drifting i have now opted for a smaller turbocharger with Tomei pro cam 270 (hydo types) I have 2 x tomei cam wheels also, so today when we put the timing belt on it was not exactly spot on, but I have a dyno here at the shop i can use as long as i want with helpers so i am hoping its going to be a breeze to get this engine going the way it should again with some cam dialing. Get cam gears and work with it. you will not remove that smile from your face for weeks once you get it setup right, I swear my car gained 80hp, from run to run and after i tuned everything it was about 100+ hp gains just from getting the timing right. The time i had issues I had a cam gear on the exhaust and the stock vct gear on intake, i got the setup exactly right the cam gear was set to 0. now i can play with both cams so lets see what happens. Il keep you posted. Here is a pic of my 270's installed and everything ready for the big long RB30DET timing belt mission, but its worth it in the long run pic was taken today.
