if your not going to spend money on ecu tuning and injectors and fuel system then going to this turbo is not going to work for you. better off finding a replacement rb20 turbo on ebay and be done with it.

what firmware are you running? have you updated it at all?
-
its not supported in Nistune yet... Matt has been working on it for years every engine has different noise, you dont just have a level that you should try and stay below, i have seen engines register 150 knock and when listening to it I cannot hear a thing!! What you should be on the lookout is for major spikes, if the engine makes contstant noise but then spikes from 40 to 140 then you might be onto something... can you sent the car to the states ? there might be some decent tuners there?

Actually alcohol injection is a power adder, its the 50% of water that *really* helps with knock

here, every tuner locks his tune. but sometimes, very very rarely a tuner forgets to lock the ecu, like yesterday, i had a Nissan Patrol come in the workshop with a GT47 turbo, the customer said the tune was shit and car ran badly... I was expecting to have to flash the ecu's firmware to unlock the ecu, but NO this one was unlocked!!! How excited was i!! it happens very rarely if not never, it felt like i won lotto!! I checked out the tune and it was complete utter rubbish, the guy tuned the car like a microtech is tuned, the fuel map was pretty much flat and the motec was tuned on boost compensations... it made lots of horse power but any clown can tune a car to make horse power.... I realise now that these guys lock their tunes mainly because they dont want people to know how bad they are?? I dunno but i never locked my ecu's untill i came here. Don't take this the wrong way but no real experienced tuner will come on the forums and give out usefull information that will fix your problem, its a f**ked up situation and i never used to agree with it. You might have some cowboy's who tune cars for fun tell you what to do and try and help but you never really learn anything untill you knuckle down and learn for yourself. where are you located?

think of an engine as a woman. there are many ways to get her to bed, once you get experienced enough you work out the fastest and best way But dont expect a guy to tell you his secret, he dont want you taking all his women... took me a while to understand why experienced tuners keep their knowledge to themself's like they do.... but i would have it no other way now.

do not use this turbo on a skyline. they are shithouse old design. i had one and it was rat shit. You might be able to get the standard housing machined out to suit depends how big the rear wheel in that turbo is. Sell it and get a better turbo, its just not worth using the old VL design the stock turbo will be better.

Possible Valve Hitting Piston Sound/issue?
Guilt-Toy replied to mill-180's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Take the front cover off, take the belt off and open up the VCT mechanism... check if it was put together properly and if there is any evidence of something going wrong in there..... -
450hp at wheels.. stock cams and stock head is all you need. you would be just wasting money changing cams on a setup like that.

cheers guys... Yeah this is by no doubt the best track in the world. the best thing was when i ran my 10, there was only 4 cars racing that night... I would do a run, and then come back and was ready to go again.... There was 3 r35 gtr's and me. Then later one of my customers brings down his Mercedes SLS F1 deal and runs that, doing 11.8's and his mate's Porsche which was doing similar times but that was after I ran my 10 and stopped racing for the night. It would be worth sending your car over here for 3 months during the winter here and fly over race and then send it back home. Going to change some things and see what is the best time i can get with the GT35r before I go to something bigger -

yeah car is full weight with stereo and spare wheel and carpets and everything.... my best 60 was 3 weeks ago with 1.58 Shit the gear means i nearly shit my pants when the car was grab walking from the wall to the center line and back all the way up the quarter mile because i am not using front runners with drag slicks. Was not keen to experience that again. going to buy some suitable front wheels and tyres and find some stock suspension this was done with cheap JJ G4 coil overs!... (Yes 2rismo you were right) -

went back to the track again today, ran a decent number. 10.8 at 135mph. After this run i pulled the pin and went home. Running drag tyre on rear and street radial on the front the car was moving all over the track i simply did not want to run again... I shit the gear. -

There is a R34 that will come to us to be fixed, it seems that some Indians hacked the car to a very bad state.. the whole wire loom is punished to a point of no return... What i think has happened is they tried to install a R33 gtr loom and ecu in the car (apexi power fc is r33 version) and all the wires and cut and hacked.. its such a sad sight... it needs to be repaired and fast.. A 34 gtr cannot be like this! I need a new wire loom, but was thinking should i get a R33 one and install it, will the MFD still work? can we get it to work as normal? or do we have to run the 34 loom? I noticed the coil packs are the 33 version... cannot see the 34 coil packs anywhere.. The guy has money so there is no real issue about cost... Can we get a aftermarket ecu and run it to the engine, but how do we connect it to the MFD? I am thinking brand new 34 loom from nissan and new split fire coil packs to fix the bad coil issue..... or a aftermarket ecu but i want the MFD to work still... any suggestions would be great.. I should take some pics and post up the catastrophe that is going on inside this beutifull car.... made me want to cry. especially the price it was sold for.... 15k r34 gtr....... anyone have any suggestions?
