  1. there is one guy in this country who has gone through 4 engines in the last 3 months. he kept rebuilding the engine and was not interested in searching for the reason it is happening. He is now asking for my help. Pump will be replaced and AFR's will be checked now
  2. first time i tuned my car on 30psi, everything was fine on dyno... took it to the street and was boosting in third gear, cooler pipe come off.. it was soo violent i thought i destroyed the engine lol it serously felt like something left the engine bay and went under the car, like engine parts etc etc i was very happy to see the cooler pipe off when i went to inspect the damage Do not worry about it, its a common thing. Here in Georgia I see all kinds of dodgy cooler piping that break and leak which can make tuning a nightmare at times
  3. yeah good mate! Do you think 264 with 9.3 mm lift and some spings should do the job nicely? what kind of oil pump do you suggest It is a GT37 turbo, and it suffers from compressor surge a fair bit.
  4. that is what i wanted. thanks. here it is, i saved them into gif's... took a while. box.zip
  5. 9k from hydro's ?? are you serous? wtf?? We want to build it once.. Do not want to do it twice.
  6. I been tuning a built RB25DET at a country next door, Engine is of stock configuration with built internals with a big turbo charger. Bigger then T04Z and smaller then 42r... We need to rev this thing to 8500rpm to get things happening..... I have advised the obvious, Balancer, Oil Pump.... But we need to come up with a decent head build. Head porting is a issue. No one here will be able to port a head and get good proven results unless its a big F off fluke, and we are not going to take these chances. Because lets face it.. Around these parts of the world... To get a spare RB25 head? it will have to be imported from Japan and the cost of that would be of 5 heads back in Australia IF we are lucky. We want a decent head build combo that will give us revs, does not matter if we have to go solids ors 280 cams. Customer wants a fast RB25 and he knows he needs to spend some coin to get it. SO... What do we need to do to a RB25DET head to spin it to 8200 - 8500 rpm. Please, No amature comments, if you have not done this before and have no experience then do not post crap in this thread. *nice tone of voice* Yes... I have searched. Cheers
  7. did a cooler pipe come off?
  8. I think it was the sensor, it just dicked out for a bit. chuck it on another dyno to confirm.
  9. there is a earth lead that goes on near the coil packs for the ignitor box. make sure you have put this back on somewhere. Remove the coil pack wire connectors and re-seat them and see how it goes. did you add me to msn?
  10. www.vi-pec.com
  11. What a great set of wheels! wow! makes me water in the mouth. Surely will go to a new home soon. GL with the sale - these won't last long.
  12. why not try the LS2 coils, those things have internal ignitor and are supposed to pack a very big punch of a spark.
  13. Looking for CAS from series 2 r33 or r34 rb25det, its the one with the plastic cover. PM price including post to Sydney Cheers
  14. something silly happened in the head. possibly a stuck lifter of valve or bent valve or something. It is not something serious. good luck with it and let us know how it goes
  15. Yes but you never know what comes out of japan. those guys mix and match everything.
  16. Once you setup the front abs sensor to the vipec it compares the speed with the gearbox sensor to calculate the slip % Don't you guys think that maybe Status knows what he is talking about? A mac valve is a mac valve. Why won't the one you got on ebay work ? I used a shitty valve from a cheap china boost controler and it worked. You can even use a rb25 one! or 26 one.
  17. you use the DI speed input from the gearbox to switch off launch controll when launching with the vipec. No clutch pedal is needed, for flat shifting you need the clutch pedal though. I connected my front ABS sensor to a digital input on my car, so now the vipec knows what slip % the wheels are spinning and can run a GP rev limit or full timing map for traction control. Have done some testing and with 225 rubber on rear with 400rwhp the car just takes off while it is wheel spinning... Also when running boost maps you can have the vipec run wastegate pressure when wheels are spinning and then go back to full boost once you get traction. Been playing around with my setup a fair bit these days, its crazy the things this ecu can do! And the funny thing is Ray is still developing more goodies for us... !!
  18. You can use a R33 GTST RB25DET standard solinoid with the vipec also. You can use the RB26DETT solinoid as well. (better then rb25) I tuned a car last night, it was using a solinoid that looks like the mac valve but it was stolen from a cheap chineese boost controller and it worked fine. The car was running a 6psi spring in the external gate and i was able to get it to push out 26psi of boost with the vipec boost control. Also if you want to have dual boost settings its very easy to setup, you setup a switch and wire it to Digital input 5 or 6 and then setup the vipec to run 2 maps for boost control which is changed just by flicking the switch. Very simple to setup and works very good.
  19. No. but if you go see these guys they will give it a good tune up for you. He is very good with them. http://www.chequeredtuning.com/new/
  20. how did it go?
  21. Please please do not install the FCD. Do your car a favour and at least try and get a Apexi SAFC II
