  1. Hope it all works out for you mate, I am not in Australia anymore, I am in Georgia (Eastern Europe) I actually just got home from installing a Vipec GTS Plug in in a R33 GTST, I had it started and a mostly mapped in under 2 hours, if it was not for the boost issues this car is having it would have been fully tuned. One day to do a 4d map? Damn man... I dunno what he is doing! I would love to know how much this tune ends up costing you, over in NSW I am sure you can get Scottie at Insight to tune your car for well under $1000 and I am sure he would only need the car for a day and one night only for cold start. But ride it out, see how it goes.. Once this ECU is setup correctly it will be the best mod you have ever done for your car and you will think the wait and cost was definatly well worth it. Good luck with it, let us know in a PM how you go with it if you can. Anthony
  2. Gotta love this guy's post's... allways a good read! its a bit like bagging the shit out your surgen to the nurse while you are on the operating table !! The Vi-Pec can seem a bit over the top when you do your first one, especially if you were only ever tuning low end ecu's like Power FC & Microtech's etc etc Since becoming a Vi-Pec dealer and installing many of them it gets easier and easier every time.. I have also found that the cold start that Ray puts in his base maps can offen be left untouched and cold start work fine.
  3. it does not take 3 days to tune. But you need to give the guy the benifit of the doubt, he wants to take time with your car and get it right, i would prefer someone take their time with the job then do it quickly and possibly miss something that could cause you problems later on. tuning 4d and 5d maps is a bit of a pain in the ass but its not rocket science, I think the guy just wants to tune the car once so you will be happy with it and you don't need to keep comming back for touch up's or little issues here and there that need to be tweaked. just ride it out and see how it goes.
  4. After a couple of the cheapie boost controllers, pm me with details. cheers
  5. good call. He might need some hugs, one guy was asking about a issue after a firmware update for a DI he had setup??? and then this? *shakes head* the shit people post on the internet.. gotta love it.
  6. back in the old days, I purchased a T4 front wheel and housing off a mate and stuck it onto my standard FJ20 turbo without balancing or anything and it worked good... very good.. Sold the car and 4 years later the turbocharger was still boosting and making power!
  7. This is now available. The new V44 wire in ecu can support low imp injectors. (Vi-Pec only option) not available with the storm. Also the new firmware is great! I have wired up my font ABS sensor as a digital wheel speed input to calculate %slip and run tables for traction control! New software is out also.
  8. can be done. make sure you get the wiring right
  9. Thats right. the tuner will run 2 fuel maps, one Map vs RPM and one TPS vs RPM. Finished product is hard to tell difference from a stock ecu.
  10. RTFM. Paul gave you good advice. why don't you do what he says?
  11. what power can you expect to get from a kkr430 at wheels on rb25 and kkr480 ?

  13. Yavus has to be the best tuner in Sydney. That is all.
  14. tooo bad... I left Australia a year ago =)
  15. He quoted his BUY price... he will not sell at this price
  16. first check to make sure there is fluid in the tank in the boot, its on the right hand side of your boot. It takes special oil. Castrol Transmax oil works well in there. when the engine is off it should be on the MAX level. DO you have a aftermarket ECU ?
  17. R31Nismoid doing testing, ignore i will clean up, Ash.
  18. Paul Did you only need the 4 pineapples? how hard is it to drop the sub frame to install this ? any ideas? I need to change my setup
  19. TIP: try spinning the AFM around 180deg. try different positions
  20. one thing people have overlooked in this thread. Suspension setup. Stock suspension with pineapples pointing the pinion angle in the correct position will get you soo much more traction then a set of coil overs. The difference is amazing. On this topic of pineapples, can anyone share with us the best way to get the pineapples setup correctly for maximum traction? there are 3 ways you can setup the pineapples but which one is the best for drag traction? I am sure there is a thread on here about it from back around 2003 2004 when i got my pineapples but I cannot be farked searching for it at the moment. Maybe someone can find it and test it and post up their results for everyone to see? Who is going to try it out? Okay I decided to not be so lazy and found this. My pineapples are currently setup for "all round performance" http://www.whiteline.com.au/instruction/203a_KCA349.pdf there you go - also SHIM YOUR DIFF!
  21. it makes me smile every time someone asks me this question. yes i have been asked this question a few times in the last 6 months.
  22. there is no such thing as a product with a 0% failure rate. think about the amount of spark plugs NGK sell... you were just the unlucky one who got a dud spark plug. its probably only one spark plug that is faulty. put one spark plug into your car and drive it for a day, if you are not missing change the next one.. if its okay the next.. untill you find the dud one and then buy a new one or take it back for replacement
  23. reset the power fc to factory defaults.. check pauls FAQ for info on how to do this. I dont know why he did not suggest this in his post. maybe the stock ecu/chip setup is tuned for modiications done to the car like bigger injectors or something... Take it to a tuner and get them to sus it out for you.
  24. clean the air filters and afm's to start with
