With the vipec you can set conditions, condition 1 rpm > 1500rpm and oil pressure > 1.5v so if the volts get lower then that you can have a 100rpm rev limiter activated to save the engine.

actually i was up at around 374rwkw with stock head and stock cams. i ran up to 2 bar around 31psi on power cruise weekend and normally use 20psi low boost and 26psi high boost i have some kelford 272 cams to install but i was told i NEED the valve springs to be able to use them. so if you have stock cams you should not need valve springs unless yours are lazy etc etc.. also my head has done over 300,000km.s... 330k actually i never rev the engine past 7200rpm at the drag strip and 7000rpm limit on the street.

There will be good reason for people to favor the Vi-Pec soon. Ray looks after his dealers. Thats the way it should be. Vi-Pec has a RRP and if you wish to buy one you should buy from your local dealer in your state so you can get support directly from the dealer you purchased it from. I can see where Ray is coming from, Why would he have a few internet dealers selling his ecu's around the country at a price lower then the the RRP, they will be on ebay for $10 more then the dealer price and then the dealers will not be able to sell them and this will make them angry, why should the dealer give support and help out Vi-Pec customers if they are not buying the ecu's directly from them ? I know I would be pissed and not want to help out if this was happening. Can you imagine all the bullshit / shitfights that would go on if they let this happen? it would be a complete f**king mess! If you buy a ECU from ebay and you cannot start the car are you going to "contact seller" and ask him what to do? No. You need to get good support and thats why Ray has his Dealer / Support network setup the way he does because he is customer focused and he wants his product to have a good name with good support which he currently does. Its a great product and you should buy it from your local dealer, Its just like whinging and complaining that you cannot walk into the Sony warehouse in North Ryde and buy a big screen TV at dealer price.. It aint going to happen, go to the Good Guys and buy it there. So quit your whinging. Support your local dealer, Buy from your dealer network and get the support you need directly from them without any problems.

actually its just the dirt and dust on the roads, especially when it rains and the position i had the filter would not have been helping (in the front gaurd) This country is actually pretty clean, not much smog and polution etc etc. its just the dirt and dust on the roads and everywhere that kills it...

Had a issue with my car for the last few months, was chasing boost leaks, looking at blow off valve leaking etc etc.... Never really put much effort into it untill last week when i put the car on the dyno and found the issue after a few runs.... Had 5 runs on the dyno all were showing around 15psi and 330 - 340 rwhp after changing all the cooler hose clamps and some silicons, cleaned out the intercooler etc etc.... Took the air filter off to inspect the turbo to make sure it is still in good condition, decided to do one more run before giving up and going back to the drawing board.... Next run showed 20psi and 405rwhp straight away, a gain in 75 horse power at the rear wheels and 5psi boost!!! because the air filter was not attached! (boost was so much higher that it blew the boost line off for the dyno) The city in Georgia is sooo dirty that this poor filter got clocked soo bad that it was restricting the GT35r soo much it was choking the hell out of it! I have cleaned the filter about 3 times in the last 6 months but obviously I was not cleaning it good enough and it was still blocked. So far I have managed to clean it to give me 20psi of boost but the power is still down so looks like a new filter will need to be imported! Thought I would share this with everyone, its amazing how much power you can lose from a dirty air filter! Might pay to dyno your car with the filter removed just to see how much restriction is actually there!

take a picture of the board inside the ecu and post it up. it will end all bullshit

have you guys actually tried to hit boost with a big turbocharger and a restricted exhaust? The turbo wont even spool up when i had my exhaust restricted. Not sure about other cars though

Okay to me it looks like the software is the Apexi Excel Pro version. This is the software for the japanese apexi dealers laptop software. A while ago there was a guy selling baege box's with the software for about $600 (before datalogit was popular) there is even instructions on the internet how to make your own box, you need to remove the chip from your hand controller and put it on a pcb and build your own box but i do not know anyone who has made one themself. It is full featured software and does all of what the datalogit does. When i first started tuning power fc's with laptop software I was using this software. Its all in japanese and you takes a while to get used to where all the menu's are etc etc and working with the logging is very hard compared to the Datalogit versions you can get out of NZ. So yeah this is good software and it is full featured for tuning ALL power fc's with your laptop. Good luck with it..

How Close Can The Afm Be To The Turbo?
Guilt-Toy replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yes it will work for a quick drive. depends how big the turbo is to how much problems you will have. just dont close the throttle quickly unless you have to and it should be okay, if you see that your at a set of lights and the car is hunting up and down just rest your foot on the accelerator and bring the revs up to 2000rpm then let it go back down to idle really slowly and it should begin to idle okay. -
how do you know when its floating?

cheap manifolds last around 1 - 2 years if you are lucky.
