  1. you should go to nissansilvia.com and ask there. they would have more info on whats required to but a real engine in a silvia.
  2. actually we do, we just got dealer rights for Alpine and JBL and we will be importing from Dubai
  3. Here are some random pics At the black sea This is the only GTR in the country atm, it has a blown valve on number 6 cyl. They did not buy a new valve from nissan, instead they got a valve from a truck engine new and machined it down to suit and are installing it in the next week then I will tune it for Drag racing day
  4. cheers mate. It cost about $6,000 USD for a 40ft container which had my car and the DD Dyno in it. Took 2 LONG months to get here too. My car still wears its www.skylinesaustralia.com sticker on the back also When i tell people i am from Australia most of them don't even know where Australia is !!
  5. lol, the Dirt man is up to his usual tricks! hahaha.. love it (miss you man) I don't expect anyone to understand why I did this. It was a very crazy move and it has been a good experience, I guess I am chasing my dream.. what that is exactly i am not sure All i know is that I was sick of the 9-5 IT job back home, every day was the same for me it felt like I was not living my life how i wanted to and this opportunity came up and i grabbed it. I have seen the ways people work on cars here and its admirable and also can be dodgy at the same time but it works. At the moment there are 3 blown up skylines here because no one knows how to tune them or treat them properly and it takes a long time to rebuild the engines because parts take weeks to get here and freight is very expensive from Australia. The workshop opens in a week or so and we have Drag Racing in 2 weeks as well. We are also working on making engine parts here and exporting them. Search for Guilt-Toy on youtube you can see some videos i been posting, its really hard to contain myself in my car here because you can get away with anything.. Replacing tyres is becoming expensive My skyline is the fastest car in this country and the locals here cannot believe how it goes and sounds. Its going to be great to build fast cars here and we will change motorsport in this country in a big way. So yeah bag me out for chasing my dreams... I don't really care. I do not regret what I have done. Ohhh yeah and WRX placed 8th in the rally in Europe - not bad for a 4 day rally competition that had 200+ entrants!
  6. i got 380 rwkw with stock cams with a 1.06 rear housing in a hydro rb25det head. the 26 head should get there if you ask me. especially seeing you are making 320rwkw on 16psi! that is a very healthy setup to get those numbers. turn up the wick, give it a crack.
  7. say he had the exact same cam as this guy running the intake at -7 but with VCT enabled. he would then need to run it at close to 0 again to get max power... yes ?
  8. the turbo will not make boost unless the engine is under load over a certain RPM (Depending on what size the turbo is) the bigger the turbo the higher the rpm the engine can make boost under load so if your reving the engine at 5000rpm and there is no load on the engine you will have no boost but as soon as the engine loads up you will get boost.
  9. well done mate! all that hard work has paid off. cannot wait to see some vids of this car in action once its run in and re-tuned I have alot of respect for builds in faraway countries like Ragan here in Peru. There is just no support or technology to do what we do in Australia. I never realised how hard it is for these guys to do up cars untill i went overseas myself and now I am able to see first hand what it is like. If you have a problem you cannot go down the road and take your parts with you and ask someone who has been there and done that, you cannot get good quality engine work done by picking a engine builder any engine builder at all in Australia can do better work then what I have seen here, everything you do has to be done yourself!! all the homework everything is done yourself and what information you can find on the internet. Took me a month to find a Timing light that works here, and even then I had to modify it to work properly. So yeah a big thumbs up to you man to be able to build something of this quality and hopefully it will bring you some decent performance as well. Keep us updated !!!
  10. when you take it to your tuner they will be able to unlock it. if they cannot then find another tuner
  11. Who are you insured with? if your with shannons they give you one free windscreen a year and you should call them! if not you should call Obriens they will be able to supply and fit one for around $200
  12. everything is standard except for caster rods and i got G4 coil overs.. so those settings should be okay?
  13. yes he runs motul 300v LEMANS
  14. Dude, I am not in Australia anymore. I cannot go to the wheel alignment place and ask them for a track setup. they have no idea about these things. I need some settings to give to the guy and i need to over look to make sure they are correct. This is a place where it took 2 weeks to find someone who has a timing light and even then it did not work the best. can anyone help?
  15. i cannot believe no one has given him the most important advice. make sure you run very good engine oil. Motul 300v chrono is a must for a track day. if you don't chances are you will spin a bearing
  16. Anyone know how you should set your cars wheel alignment up for track racing? I cannot just take my car to a place to get a wheel alignment done here and say "i want to track race it" i need to get the settings on paper and tell them how i want it setup. want to change it for track racing and for drag racing. anyone have any ideas ?
  17. I am after 2 rear r33 gtst disc rotors in good condition please PM me with what you have and you will need to be able to post it. cheers
  18. -7 & +7... interesting! Maybe if you kept the VCT things would be different =)
  19. nice work!!! +1 for having a go!
  20. I have one idler and one tensioner. This issue is a pain in the friggin ass. I pulled my hair out for months trying to chase the 50rwkw i had lost. The timing marks were never 100% spot on, but we left it and said it was close enough but it was out enough to make a big difference in power. Once it was fixed after hours and hours of stuffing around the first run produced a extra 45rwkw without any extra tuning / changes. I could not believe it. The previous dyno run was the day before then i took car home fixed it and came back early the next morning. This issue needs to be looked at - you need to be 100% sure the timing marks are spot on 100% and this also means removing the harmonic balancer and making sure the bottom cog mark and the top marks are 100%. Also take the plugs out and turn the motor over by hand and by started motor quite a few times and re-check before putting it back together.
  21. a solution may be on the cards for this issue
  22. 9.4 ??? on low boost?
  23. my car did this. i spent months and months chasing the problem. Cams are not too small, i am making 375rwkw with STOCK cams. I think the issue is cam timing. Getting the cam timing right on a RB30 is quite tricky. I would first start by setting both cam gears to 0 and then tuning it and see what power it makes. Dont be suprised if the power sky rockets. on my RB30DET the car makes the most power with the ext cam gear set to 0. Set them all back to stock and try again - report back with results
  24. hey mate. You said the car was with friends for the last week or so, If i was you i would wait till the fuel tank is empty and then go to your local BP servo and fill it up with ultimate and then see how the knock readings are going. Friends dont care about cars that are not theirs. they probly put regular unleaded in it by accident. let me know how it goes
