  4. I got a GT3540 with a 1.06 rear on my car, and ive got a GT3040 with .82 rear. I was wondering if i was able to use the 1.06 rear and put it on the GT3040 ? what would this achieve compared to the .82 that came with the 3040 ? I am looking to downgrade the power, the 3040 will go a little tooo low, probly about 280rwkw with the 1.06 this would go up to about 300ish ? or not work at all?
  5. yeah it can change the flow of the pump because the pump is getting a decent earth now. you should get it checked out or you will run the engine too rich and wash the bores over time.

  7. every time i have tuned a car the injector settings have been no where near where the internet people tell me it should be. The sooner you start using your own head and start working it out yourself instead of worrying what people say on here the quicker you will get the problem solved and you will learn how to tune cars alot faster. I like to keep the injectors as close to 100% as possible. I don't care what injector it is. after you do 10 or 20 of them you start to see a trend in what works and what does'nt

  10. those settings would only effect the idle and low rpm cruising. if you cut the aux and use it for anti-lag it sould be ok. if anything -2 deg of timing will make you lose power on boost not cause pinging. try it and see how you go.
  11. give the guy a break. The guy is running very low timing in the ecu, its weird how these microtechs work, i will explain. The timing map you see with the timing sitting on 21deg is the rpm timing, then when it hits boost the ecu retards the timing as the boost comes on. at 16psi the guy has 9deg of timing being removed from the base timing, so its really running about 12deg. thats pretty retarded, so for a high compression engine it should be ok. I do think there is a inconsistency with the ECU and that the engine is not actually seeing 12deg, it might be seeing 24 for all we know or it could be bouncing up and down like a yo-yo. upgrade the ecu and try again. long live the third engine! ohhhh also please get rid of those injectors. that is a must too.
  12. you have to make the dump pipe yourself. get one of the flanges from ebay and so you can blow your new turbo in days
  13. nah, i have not been playing around with my car too much these days, its going hard and well and have not needed to touch it. i only use the logging when i am racing these days and i like the software logging
  14. i have not played with knock on my Vipec yet. i have the V44 and could not be bothered hooking up my K-mon to it as yet. i don't think i will as its not needed.
  15. btw, before you can download your data from the ecu you need to enable the internal logged in the software under "logging" good luck
  16. i would never trust a microtech with my engine. i have heard some shocking story's on how far the timing can drift from the set values in the ECU. apparently the power fc does this as well! Get a new ECU. power fc or a vi-pec and move on. Looking at your map, there is NO way the timing values in the ecu caused the issue, the ECU is programmed correctly but it is sending incorrect / warped / drunk / drugged up high signals to the engine which is causing the detonation. I know this is a long shot, the last battles i had with a microtech i was totally sure that the engine's cam timing / ignition timing was soo f**ked out and stuffed i kicked the car off the dyno and told them to go home and fix it. It ended up being that the harmonic balancer had NO keyway in it and was spinning on the crank! so when we set the timing it was out 25deg !!! anyway good luck with it

  18. i so called "friend" who thinks he knows everything put my turbo drain line back on with half a tube of goo, it pretty much blocked the return line and it stuffed the turbo in 2 days, that was a GT3540 turbo. they don't like oil blockages very much.
  19. ohhhhh they pick on the bombs mate, especially p plater bombs. ive seen many cops target them and hand them massive defects. ones they even have to go to court for (bags too low etc etc) the police love those guys for some reason. probly cos they don't want to peel them off a telepole somewhere

  21. how much back pressure do you have in your exhaust? mine has about 4psi on 330rwkw and nearly 8psi!!! at 360rwkw. need more information, if you have back pressure how much do you have ? id say the issue is your turbo not your exhaust, my 3" can make 370ish with no issues.

  23. i would put them in the same boat as a microtech, they work well and do the job. don't listen to what i say though, i do not know much about them. I remember msnismo had one in her car and she removed quick smart for a Haltech
