Guilt-Toy

New fully rebuilt engine, new ecu thats only programed to start the car and drive onto a trailer / dyno. He won't be driving it.

pics of my setup. I use a really small via pc 40gb 2.5" which runs 5v. a 7 port usb hub & a 12x atx power supply (with small 7amp hour backup battery for cranking and 10 mins run time) to power the pc off the 5v rail & a thermaltake 7" touch screen which runs off the atx power supply as well (its for servers).. USB hub is powered off 5v rail as well. All fits in glove box except the atx power supply and backup battery. This runs beutifully. I use it to interface with my VI-PEC ecu for engine monitoring as you can see on the screen. Logitech DiNovo mini Blue tooth keyboard / mouse. Got the touch screen for simple mouse movements and use the mini if i need to go on the net or do some emergency tuning. I am getting a Compact flash to IDE adapter and then a 16gb Compact Flash III 40mb/sec card so its running full SSD - I am expecting the HDD to die within the next few months because my car is sooo damn bumpy! This setup owes me less then $800!!

you mean a stock nissan one? i do have a spare actually.. and as for the earth, i already have a earth strap on it.. put that on a couple of weeks after i got the alloy radiator... I am getting one of those swirl pots, to go on the cooling system. when i turn the car off i can hear bubbling in my coolant system.. just noticed it.. maybe the top mount turbo is causing air in the line and causing the extra heat? is it bad to run the engine at 100deg? or 97?

because i use one and i love it. It will fix all your headaches with your car. $1760.. your computer will never need to be touched again. money worth spent.

you need to buy a new ecu. I suggest you get the vi-pec. do a search on the site and it will confirm this. good luck

We only just got it running over the weekend, and i put in a "drive up on trailer tune" to get it to the dyno this weekend. It was running for 15 minutes this morning so all seems good so far. Putting the wastegate on friday night took longer then expected. what a C*&NT of a mission that was!

no. but its possible your ecu could have lost its tune. get it checked out by a tuner

to me it looks like cyl 1 will get all the nos and the rest won't get much at all?

just got home.. Yes Twoogle is alive once more! New engine sounds beutifull. this car.

a high profile tuner in melbourne who runs very fast RB's says that the limit for pump gas is around 450hp at the wheels before it gets too risky...

I am more then qualified to comment in this thread. So i will. I have had arguements with Mr Reagan on many occations over the last year about his claimed power figures, he never had a dyno (appart from a engine dyno) to test it on and the quarter mile runs he does does not count the MPH from what he tells me. This guys only passion in life is his skyline, like most of us here but there is one difference, he has no support, access to no spare parts.. In fact it is ILLEGAL to import second hand car parts into his country, only NEW parts are allowed. they tune his car on the STREET, with 380 - 400rwkw that he has he would be spinning the wheels all over the road and only the bottom to mid range of the tune was too rich if anything. His tuner got rolled and robbed for his laptop and personal belongings when on the side of the road tuning a car for someone. Honestly i can admit we are spoilt here compared to how he has it and he still manages to pull out a low second quarter at 132 mph. Its easier to let him have his HP claim even though we know its not fully acurate but he is packin alot of horse power and is out there kicking everyones ass showing who is boss. We did help him heaps in his travels, sorry you took this the wrong way mate but good work and it would be good to see you grab 140mph - that way we can put the power to MPH in our own aussie gauge. Post up some more pics of your skyline... BTW Reagan, Trident lives in the outback of australia.. he has access to open roads you could only dream of and he has the cover to protect his Skyline. Things are different in all parts of this country. Maybe you should visit sometime. & BTW mate, you can take back the comment about where you are from.. I am from a country next door to yours.. (well half of me) my dad used to build and tune Race Boats in Argentina..

in the VIPEC you can program the ignition retard etc etc but in a microtech ? i doubt it. You need a decent ecu to get those options.

apparently he went to chille to race some gtr's etc etc.. he wont tell us how he went! How did you go in Chille ? its okay if the GTR's flogged you. they are a car of their own anyway.. would be like me racing the Dirt man.

He lives in Peru.. we could argue about who's car is faster untill the letters wear off on our keyboards! I aint going to be able to race him to find out who is quicker so I aint really interested in the arguement. However he has already beaten my best et.. so unless i go back and finally run a 10 he is faster then me anyway.
