  1. rb20's middle name is lag. the best fix is to get rid of the problem alltogether (the rb20) and install a RB25DET or RB30DET.
  2. i would pay a large amount of money to see this go ahead.
  3. i did that on my old ca20 blue bird when i was 17... it put a big cut in my palm and you could see raw flesh in there.. i went white lol... to this day i still have the scar. So yes not very smart
  4. i just want to change the 5th gear ratio in my gearbox to drop the revs a extra 1000rpm lower. Then i would be happy. but apparently this cannot be done. right?
  5. this is what you need to do. Take the kick panel off, take the ecu out of the car (undo the 10mm bolt) unplug ecu from harness. Then plug the ECU back in, when you put it in just tightening up the 10ml bolt is NOT good enough, give the bolt 2 turns then push the plug in on EACH side then repeat this untill the bolt is tight. Make sure the ECU is pluged in ALL the way and there is no gap. I have seen this happen on countless nissans where people DON"T put the ecu back in properly and they get error codes and engine lights because a sensor does not have a good enough connection. Try this and let me know how it goes before spending big $$$ on coil packs. Even if it looks like its connected properly, still take it out and put it back in the same i explained.
  6. lol.. antilag? lol wait till power cruise
  7. how are you going to interface the fcon with the pc ?
  8. I would have asked this question, but i think trent knows what he is doing. it does sound far fetched but it takes a game tuner to try new things like this and put them to test. So - i might do some testing next time i have my car on the dyno
  9. no one has the HKS software except for 2 workshops in australia. one in sydney and now one in perth. Ring BD4's or SAS in Sydney .. not sure who in perth. Not sure if they can crack the password either. Good luck with it. apparently they are a great ecu just not many tuners
  10. that value is where the VCT is switched off. The way i thought the vct works is that it switches on at about 1500rpm (cannot change this on pfc) then switch's off at 4000rpm (or whatever you have set in the pfc software) So this means that you have a massive inlet cam advance all the way to red line... I was told the engine would start to ping if you did this, did you run the K-MON on this engine when tuning it ?
  11. Trent Are you talking about the VCT rpm value you set in the power FC ? you have that set to 7000rpm?
  12. hey mate sorry for the late reply.. but i been at the nats.. probly pissin ppl off more then anything but having a damn good time as well ii will do a search on google for datalogit, the joint is in NZ and they do actually send out your datalogit afr you pay for it in a pretty reasonable time frame, ppl have reported that the product has been recieved in the mail before any kind of confirmation of payment or order completion at all. So pay your money and the unit will arrive quicker then expected. Cheers
  13. i got in tonight.. 430km's from home and still a little but of fuel left in the tank... air con on all day as well.. im stayin at the Carotel...
  14. manly commodores and old holdens... funny that the fastest car is driving down and not getting towed
  15. If anyone is there and they see me, stop me and jump in for a cruise, NSW Plates GLT-00Y - Burgandy R33. Leaving in the morning its about a 5 or 6 hour drive from Newcastle, following some tow trucks down with mates cars aboard so will be a slow trip Anyway.. who else is going to be there? spectators or entrants?
  16. yeah piece of piss. just load the new map when you stop at the bowser, make sure your tank is as empty as it can get.. then load up the map upload it to your ecu.. fill up and go!
  17. may the skyline god heal the skyline so it can be as good as new as soon as possible. amen
  18. whats pine island?
  19. i don't think paul would come down. he is soft. its not even worth asking him But yeah i will see what everyone is doing, if there are no plans i should be there
  20. it will need a re-tune.. can anyone confirm this but everytime ive unlocked a Croydon locked ECU it resets it back to factory defaults so you cannot see the tune... does that sound right?
  21. hmmmm.. I will be in town
  22. this used to happen to me after a race or a big rev limit mission or even after comming off boost on higher RPM's... what is happening is that when you back off the throttle the engine runs really really rich for a second or so because air flow was stopped instantly but the AFM still thinks the air has gone through the engine... The plugs get flowled up and one or 2 can stop firing untill it heats back up again and drys out then the cyl's start to fire again. This only happened to me with my very very rich tune, .78 on boost (10.8 11.0 afr) once i retuned it after more km's on the engine to normal AFR's the problem went away. So i am guessing your tune up top is very rich. chuck it on a dyno and post up the AFR graph to power graph's and i bet your running 11.0 AFR. Fix the tune, the problem will go away
  23. i got one in newcastle complete in good condition. $100 pickup
  24. i got one, $65 delivered
  25. your economy seems about right mate.. mine gets 300 - 350 with city driving max... add highway i get 400 - 450 what timing are you running on cruise? have you locked the timing to the ecu correctly?
