Well, found a full manual conversion, was about to purchase, then I've had one of the fellas on here contact me with a fresh mv built auto for a good price, so going to jump on that.

Cheers, will do some more researching. Preference is always manual but it's still just as fun regardless what transmission is in it. Just want some reliability without an 8k price tag. Can pickup complete manual conversion for $1500 with good box tomorrow... But does that mean i'm going to be doing a clutch everytime I give it a bit of what for?

Lol, I have 2 of them one the exact same with minimal mods running manual, would be happy to make my modded one less streetable as it's not my daily and i'm sus on the 2nd gear set in the manual boxes from experience. How strong are the manual box (clutch choice also dependant of course) and what sort of power figures have people been able to put through them?

Do they give an estimate as to what the box will handle and what are the differences if going from type A box to type B (wiring, overdrive, drive shaft lengths? Sorry to sound like such a noob, Only just getting into the world of skylines coming from 4x4's.

R33 gts-tt, box that just let go was a GZM built Re401a.

So pricing back for a C4 setup from Al's autos will come in around $6500 for box and converter or around $9000 fitted. EEK! after cooking a built GZM re401a ($4500 later), I'm not sure what to do!

sorry to revive an old thread but im exactly in this position at the moment pushing 500rwhp and have just blown a built re401a? any one in Sydney?

Cheers, have gone the built option @ $4750 and hi torque stally to match from GZM automotive lasted 4 months on low boost (12psi). Have been scouring in the hope of a write off being pulled apart to avoid forking out the $6500 al's auto's want to for a c4, I understand eventually and budget permitted I will go this route. Prior to having this skyline I gave a stock auto box away. lol Was hoping for someone in the Penrith area to have one sitting around. hehe ;-)

Hi all, After a box to get me by for a little bit whilst I save some pennies for a c4 setup. Running around 330kw/atw, in r33 with auto setup, if someone had a built box sitting around gathering dust, would be even better otherwise I will have to settle for turning the boost down!
