  1. I dunno about Tas, but you're not allowed to remove an airbag in NSW.
  2. Any sudden movements on the throttle in the wet will lose the back. I have Simex 225's all around. Dunlop Formula FM901's or whatever were recommended in a thread a while back for got wet/dry performance/traction.
  3. Well I'm not replying cos I have no idea what is wrong.. but now I guess I've replied ?!
  4. i've got the jap rego sticker, i'm too scared to take it off cos i don't want to rip out the window tint film. my car had this plastic nismo sticker where gt-r badges normally are on the boot, but i had it removed
  5. My car came with all-metal MOMO pedals, I don't think they are legal My feet never slip though, in fact when my soles are wet they grip more (but in a bad way - it's jerky).
  6. Yeah, ABS on *all* R33s is an option. ABS was a primary concern for me, but the perfect car came up - but no ABS - never looked back. If you have the opportunity to get it, I would because it's safer, but don't hold out for it. I reckon the first month is a bit of a milestone if you're not used to such a powerful car, so just be careful - ESPECIALLY IN THE WET. You will hear everyone tell you that and you may not take heed, but it rained the first day I got mine and I lost the back bigtime. I was lucky no one was in the lanes to the left and right of me
  7. I have an S2 and I have never noticed all the lights turn on - I think only a few (HICAS definitely, passenger seat belt if applicable, handbrake). Also, FYI the low petrol lamp is on the top row, 2nd from the left. Also, I have heard running on low fuel is bad, but I still do it. Does that Wynns Spitfire stuff clean the system well? Any other recommendations?
  8. Just a word to the wise.. an NRMA inspection on an R33 GTSt (and probably GTS and DEFINITELY a GT-R) is a lot more expensive than a regular inspection. I think it's like just over $200.. I bought my car from North Shore Prestige in Manly Vale. They were pretty good, a few hiccups, but no problems with the car (simple stuff like the passenger door not triggering the cabin light, head unit not working). They weren't that prompt in fixing these things, but at least it was finally sorted out. Inherently wrong.. the obvious point is that it's not a car for your gramps, so it would have probably been driven hard by previous owners. The flipside is the cars are supposed to be driven hard. A question you will run into is "what is the difference between a series 1 and series 2". That has been spoken about a lot in old threads - maybe someone can point him to a past thread cos I couldn't find it in the search. - Tim
  9. Those wheels pictured are identical to the ones on your S14.. I have those wheels on my R33 and the importer put 225s on them and they run fine.
  10. I paid $3100 with Famous Classic Car Insurance (21yo / 30% NCB / R33 GTSt)
  11. Thanks guys! I'll try those on the weekend!
  12. Hi guys, I parked my car in an underground carpark and came back to find that water had been dripping from the ceiling onto my car. I've cleaned my car thoroughly with regular soap, but it's left very slight stains in the paint and the sunroof (glass). Any tips for removing it without wrecking the paint? It's kind of like an old coffee stain on a glass table. Cheers, Tim *edit: I read a couple of forums and they suggested white vinegar and water, but I don't want to screw my paint job
  13. and why are cone pieces sold at tobaconnists?
  14. Any north shore detailers? I've got little paint scratches on the bumper and slightly larger ones which have been painted over (but dodgy) which I wouldn't mind having cleaned up. Am I right in thinking I just bring it in and they wash/vacuum it as well as doing the detailing? (Yes, I'm too lazy to clean it before I take it in). Please PM me details if you can. Cheers, Tim
  15. That is f'ing dodgy that someone asks about the alarm. I would tell them "there is sat tracking which is great, cos if someone tried to take my car I'd find them a gut them."
  16. So if you have a cold air partition box for a pod it's then legal?
  17. I catch public transport to work and drive my Skyline anywhere I need to (evenings, weekends).
  18. GTR Badging a GTST - or even worse, a GTS - is lame! I don't care if people get the kit, cos it's a great looking kit, but don't try and fool people into thinking it's something it's not. My 2c.
  19. I don't understand how they can get enough air flow to spin the turbine?!?
  20. Wow the handbrake thing is cool. I heard something about remote start + the clutch shutting the engine off too. Hey Friski, what rear skirts do you have on your GTR? They look cool in your avatar. Got any side view pics with your rims too?
  21. Jarus, Go there in another car with 4 blokes and f' him up.
  22. Ahaha that's pretty funny. Lancer drivers need to let Excel drivers who is boss you know.. keep the pecking order in place, the chain of command!
  23. Good to know Powerplay thrash the shit out their cars before you buy them.
