You can certainly buy a novelty Nismo cig lighter or something, but I couldn't justify buying one of those. Very ricey. Does a radar detector have to be mounted on your dash (line of sight?). I read in another thread someone's detector not only picked up radar traps but police cars too! How can it do that line of sight of the police car isn't emitting anything? (except radio waves - which isn't line of sight)

With radar detectors, how do they warn you of a radar trap? I presume by beeping or something. Are they easy to switch off if a you get pulled over for an RBT or something?

Don't forget the cost to dyno tune. I speak completely from what I've heard - not exp. I haven't even got my 25T yet (13 days!!). But it controls the sensors on your car and via that you can run lean (fuel economy) or rich (performance). I have a Q on this topic.. does the Apexi Power FC do everything the SAFC does + more?

Thanks for the congrats Strich9ine! I'm happy! I am getting the stock wheels I could have gotten it as-is and tried to flog the wheels, but then I'd need to source stock wheels/exhaust. I really wanted a stock car and he was willing to drop $1000 off the price (even if he's getting a better deal by keeping the nice kit - I save money I can't afford ). And I bought it from North Shore Prestige in Manly Vale NSW. It was a long and windy road with a couple of hiccups along the way but everything turned out okay. The sunroof is pretty cool, one thing is that it doesn't go back ALL the way due to the size of the roof. It's factory fitted, but still 2-3" of the glass top doesn't go into the roof. But still cool! One thing I did see though.. I lifted the spare wheel felt cover and looked at the chasis. On the left, above the exhaust (but inside the boot) there is a join between 2 panels. On the right hand side there isn't. Furthermore, there isn't rust in this join, but kind of like rusty water (no water.. but it kind of looks like if you painted a water based rust colour onto it). I don't know how alarming it is, I don't want to be soured by this small thing (provided it is small). Probably should get the NRMA to inspect it? I get a 3 month statuatory wty plus an extended 3 year wty, will that cover these sorts of problems if they become serious? The metal itself didn't look rusted.. just a bit of rusty residue on top.

Well I wanted a stock car and he said he'd reduce the price for it. If I do anything to the car I want to have done it, I didn't want someone elses modded car. I could have taken the exhaust and wheels and flogged them, but then I'd have to find stock ones, not worth the hassle. *EDIT oh and that ugly ass radio antenae in the auction photos is gone! The exhaust was nice though, too bad it will be returned to stock (I'm not going to bother renegotiating to get it thrown in).

Hey guys, I have finally purchased the car I want. I will be taking delivery of it on Dec 3rd. The only problem is that the front Nismo chin spoiler has been cracked (about 1-2cm if I recall). But I took in on a drive and it was sweet (I have never driven a GST-T, but this one was really smooth). What cars are out of a Skyline's league?

Skyline and other import drivers are already more affected by these laws than most other people. A simple speeding ticket could turn into a drag racing allegation. One would hope you would have to be doing something very stupid to get your car confiscated.
