  1. What kind of Lancer? Evo? Was the main reason maintenance/servicing cost? Or like insurance / petrol?
  2. You got those pics up quickly. I didn't go to the salon, but a friend of mine did and I already knew about most of the cars looked like he was talking about
  3. Welcome to the forum SpecII. Damn you're lucky with getting mates rates insurance premiums!
  4. Did you order from the www.takakaira.co.jp web site?
  5. put you behind a goat and I'll believe it
  6. Yeah sorry I should have said "Hey ladies.. hey fellas" and done a funky Usher dance. Wow that is really sweet, nothing more than the normal servicing costs. I hope I'm that lucky, that is really sweet.
  7. Hey fellas, In looking at some Skylines, I've seen some R33s around the 70-80,000km mark. They look good enough, but I'm worried that within 1.5-2yrs it would be over the 100,000km mark. Can one expect significant deterioration in the durables at that stage? For example, if you bought a genuine 50,000km R33, you might only have to replace the durables once or twice in the period you own the car. For a car with more, you might be doing it three or four times. Just wondering what the maintainence cost implications are because I've been targetting the 40-60,000km mark but I would definitely be opening a few doors if I looked a bit higher..
  8. Where are pics of the new soarer?
  9. Hey Nathan, Sweet. There is a car coming in to NSP on Monday which is exactly what I want, but some clown put a deposit on it. So I'm going to hope he backs out, otherwise Josh will continue looking for a car for me on Japan (he's the guy who lives in Japan). Will the entire job be done under warranty? Because the accident was caused by a part under wty? Cheers, Tim
  10. Hey Benm, Can you give me Nathan's contact details? I thought wow that is just the car I want to get.. then I looked at the pictures and realised that place he got it repaired (and bought it from?) is North Shore Prestige - the place I am going with. I wouldn't mind finding out how long it took him to get his in!!! You said he got it 3wks ago, I never saw that car there come in so I'd like to ask him a couple of Qs.. Cheers, Tim
  11. There are no after burners or Skyline tradition cos Nissan just changed a couple of things on the 350Z and called it a Skyline. I think it bites, it really looks like keeping the Skyline going was a second thought for Nissan after the 350Z. I don't think there is a single similarity between this new one and the previous 'lines. Engine is completely diff, interior and exterior is completely different... You guys agree?
  12. so driving my Pulsar to the empty fuel lamp everytime is bad mmkaay hhehe
  13. Geez what an a'hole. Sometimes people who work in fancy shops are like that, and I mean give me a break, they're just employees there.
  14. Yeah Nathan's is cool. Damn that is the same car I have the importers looking for! (except manual)
  15. I started working on the site that I spoke about a few messages above. I am not going to touch it again until after Nov 28th, and only really finish it off after Dec 3rd (dates when my exams are). Anyway, just working on a user admin (modify account details), then I'll work on the listing info. When that's done people will be able to add info about their cars, but no photos yet. Won't do the photo admin until after Dec 3rd.
  16. Speaking of yellow cars with dark wheels in general.. I like the Subaru WRX Clubsport Evo 4 (the old chasis). It was pale yellow with black alloys (same shape as normal). I like the yellow but most people disagree, it looks faded, but I just like the shade.
  17. Someone told me that an aft mkt BOV would reduce stress on the turbo or something - any truth to that?
  18. I don't have my Skyline yet. And I'm not going to go take photos of my stock N15 Pulsar
  19. I didn't know you got any money back if your car was stolen and you only had 3rd party, that's pretty sweet.
  20. Yeah agreed. Comp isn't required for small at-fault accidents cos the excess would be more than the price to fix! And for a $10-15,000 car, it's not worth paying a few grand a year cos you would have paid the value of the car in a few years! In my opinion, for a car of that value, better to risk it, and if you lose your car.. you pay it back for X number of years, but if you're lucky and nothing happens.. you save a lot.
  21. And hope you don't have an accident, theft or hit-and-run on your car? Having said that, comprehensive insurance with these places is useless for minor damage (say under 1 or 2 thousand) cos the excess is more plus it may affect your no claim bonus. But in the end, what made me decide to get comp was the theft aspect.
  22. G0DF4Th3R is with them and he told me he had a couple of mods (air filter, alloys and a couple of other things I think) and they were cool about it he said.
  23. If I make a script in Dec, I think a very acheivable list of features would be: 1) People sign up for a login (required to be able to manage their car's home page) 2) Admin backend to enter a bit of personal info (name, location, age, bio crap) + car's specs manager (make/model/blah) + photo manager (upload + script thumbnails). It shouldn't be too hard to faciliate multiple cars per login. 3) Public site, which at first can just list every member (and you click their name to see their page). Then when I spend more time on it, put in a search engine / voting system per car. Problems encountered with the search engine are model names. You'll have people putting in "ECR33", "R33 GTST", "R33 GTS25T", "R33 GTS25-t", etc. It'll be a nightmare. So that means someone (maybe a volunteer) can spend an hour adding in makes and models so there is a discrete list to pick from. *** so it's not like Drive.com.au where when you search for Skylines none of them stay in proper model categories, boy that pisses me off *** Anyway, maybe you guys should post your ideas so it can be better thought out, and maybe one day it will eventuate. Tim *EDIT: had another good idea. Each car could have a checkbox "For sale" and an asking price field or something. Then in the public site search, people can tick "For sale cars only" or something.
  24. What are your specs Scotty? - 20yo - 20% n/c bonus - R33 GTS-T - No fines, infringements - $26,500 value Famous Classic Car Insurance (Perth - but they insure all of AU) quoted me $3299. A couple of people here are with them already, they haven't had any problems but haven't made claims yet (that's a good thing though ). Good luck in your quest. I got crap rates from Just Car & Young and Cool. Tim
  25. Maybe after my exams finish on Dec 3rd I'll have a play around. Maybe start with a simple textarea description + file upload input for pics. I'd have to install imagemagik to get the thumbnails through, prolly safe to leave the originals as-is because people want hi-res happy snaps. What I really wanted to do though was to specify stock specs for cars in a database, so people adding their car could just pick what car they had. Then their "listing" or page inherits the stock specs, and they can override if (if they have mods). But that would be a real b*tch to code. I think if I do it I'll aim for something more acheivable.. just a database of stock specs (and none of the overriding stuff). Tim
