yeah that's harsh. on another note, the battery in the back is a hinderance and i presume is only cos they couldn't fit it in the front. because the battery is in the back, you can't fold down the rear seats like in an S15 (or in pretty much any other given car) which really kills the ability to move anything large.

cheers walkoau. would you have any idea of the price? i was quoted approx 1500 for front, rear + fit + spray for both bars. i'm hoping it's <1000 to repair both + touch up paint or whateve they can do

Hey guys, I'm looking for a stock front and rear bar for my R33. I posted in WTB, but I'm just generally wondering if I should bother looking at wreckers, and if there are any on on the North Shore because I reckon that'd be the cheapest. I don't really wanna buy a non-standard looking one because I like the look of the stock one.

predator: i saw a massive GTR sticker on a commodore if my memory serves, just near the glebe island bridge. and i think i recall finding out later that there is actually a commodore gtr of some sort.

fair go, if they wanna make their car look like a gt-r that's fine by me, they are the ones who are gunna look silly when they take on a seriously fast car. same deal with those lancer guys who put on all the evo kits, it's fun until someone wants to run, or someone asks you if it's a real evo. if they do it just cos they like the styling, they can tell people and not feel bad. if they wanna pose as a real gt-r owner, then they prolly get eaten up inside when they have to come clean or if they straight up lie to people and tell them it is a gt-r. *edit: the above was in reference to gt-r/evo *kit*. i don't really agree with badging it a gt-r, likewise with BMWs and the M3/M5 badge and the mercs with the AMG badging. i don't think anyone can argue against me in this - it's misleading and making out the car is something is most certainly not.

cereal killer: bmw 5 series since 1996 have had vertical tilt head lights which you can control from the cabin. i don't know if they have auto tilt for going over hills though...

.. and there was a thread about the best bulbs and it was agreed the phillips are amongst the best and decent value. you get get them at autobahn in NSW

they charge more for "complex" cars (i.e. imports/turbos). i think it's like $250. it's like almost double the price of a standard inspection.

yeah jimx has the right idea. less exposure (i.e. when it's on) is directly proportional to less risk of being caught. cops definitely don't pull you over for <10km over the limit. and radar traps prolly won't bother either.
