  1. i may be wrong but even i have disconnected it completely and run stock boost... okay, is there any one way valves? on it maybe? basically it cops a feed of vaccuum wether you have the solenoid on or not, maybe it is the restrictor in the line causing it enough restriction to only produce stock boost when the solenoid is disconencted?
  2. by 6000rpm it will be moving too fast to hear, if u rev it up slowly it gets to about 3000 and it will start to rattle, then as it gets faster it will dissapear as it gets too fast for it to make noise does it do it if u accelerate up and sit on like 3000 rpm in 3rd gear just trailing throttle and then accellerate a bit?? what oil pressure do you get revving?
  3. standard boost when it is disconnected because it has a bleed on the vaccuum line that feeds from the engine after the solenoid that prevents it from overboosting if the solenoid fails/disconnects, i had to install my boost controller on the turbo side of my engine after the solenoid and the vaccuum feed, just before the wastegates. i think i remember reading the t-piece that feeds the line is between the head and the firewall...round the back of the engine...
  4. my rattle from about 3000-upwards in every gear ended up as a spun bearing/gudgeon knock, not to say your necessarily is but symtoms sound the same, mine went from a rattle to what sounds like the piston rattling around at idle, so be careful! if u stick ur head under the bonnet you can sorta tell if it sounds like its at the top of the engine or at the bottom... mine was due to the oil pump not working properly from sludgey oil when it was in japan, check it out but if its only doing it around those rpms then it may be similar and and may unfortunately = rebuild.. not trying to scare but a rattle at those rpms sounds similar so get it checked out ASAP!!!
  5. used to have an old 2x82wrms response, it went alright, i rate the response monoblock for power for $$, i have one running my sub at the moment, dont think i would drive splits off them tho, rears and sub yep 4 sure...great value as for the response splits...im getting some in a week or so to do an install on a silvia for a mate, so will be interesting to see how they go...affordable enough to use as rears too instead of coax's mayb and a nice set for the front? i got MTX splits in the front of my 32, was looking at respose for the rears, must say they are a nice speaker, have that nice warm crisp sound haven't tried the JL but would imagine they are nice, check out Peerless splits..think auto barn has them, was gonna get those, they are really nice IMO...european and affordable! check CAA tho, u will find more there
  6. Hey, looking for a gunmetal grey R32 GTR rear badge, pr1cks in japan pinched mine off my car before they sent it... was wondering if anyone had one/knows where to get one relatively cheaply...
  7. yeah, i did...then i spent a few grand on a new set of turbos... restrictor is good i thought coz it allows to run .7bar as a minimum instead of .9-1bar minimum...

  14. careful with the max boost setting, standard GTR turbo's dont like the plus side of 14psi very much...been there, done that
  15. what have you got the EBC set to or what is the max it has been set to?
  16. whoa, .4 at 4000rpm...should be spoolin faster than that i think...meybe a vaccuum leak? wastegates jammed open? turbo missing bits to make compression (like wheels)? check the hoses would be a first, stock should spool from 2000ish, well mine did when they worked, have gt2530s now and even they hit full boost about 3700-4000rpm? gl finding the problem!

  18. hmm, im against that whole concept, no offence intended but if you think about it, you are building a database of all performance parts and storing the parts with names and addresses, if anyone was to get hold of that information...talk about a parts shopping list! leaving you liable as the owner to anything that gets pinched also as you would have complete access to the database... im not knocking your idea, i have considered it also but i don't think it would be wise to go out and create an online list of "who'se got what in their car with their address" style database...if it was a government department like the police book register for prescribed parts...then fine, but one person having access to a complete list of parts is dangerous, not only for you but everyone that uses it...and you would be the first on the list if someone had their stuff pinched being that you would have access to the information hehe, not meant to offend or knock your idea, but it is the other side of the coin style view of the dangers of such a system...i too have considered making something like this but opted against for that reason cheers
  19. i blew one of my exhaust wheel off, car backfired alot, splutters around etc, and diddn't make any boost ... taking off the dump pipe or checking your cat for an impeller would be the only real way, or take off the intake piping and rev it see if you get the whistle of the air when revving, if u dont = probably no turbine... check to see if it makes any boost would be the first way find out, check intercooler pipes etc and tap your cat with a spanner and see if it has anything in it , see if any have blown off...
  20. what about a Greddy Type-S (i think thats what it is), im guessing its too small to replace the 2?
  21. nothin wrong with them, they work fine, just wanted to look at trying something that makes a different noise
  22. mine has pods and stock boost (and 1 bar), its a really short and fast release, like a PSSHOW, annoying when u are on the freeway and going up an incline and it keeps bouncing on the BOVS...hehe but yeah, pods should make it louder lol, need a "describe your BOV's noise with letters" thread
