my neo conversion consisted of simular but different, i took the mind boggling road of lets convert the R34 loome to plug into R33.. With TPS, i took off the traction control unit, but unscrewed the TPS top of the unit with the wires on it, and fitted it onto S1.5 or later Throttle body.. as some of the early ones used a T-bar style catch to read the signal (some of you will know what i am talking about). Done allot of grafting of loomes, overall finished up realy tidy, done a few now.. but far too much work.. i actually havent looked at the stock engine maps, as i have just gone to PFC (when they were avalible) and got them tuned. Also you have to convert the part of the loome for indicators etc from an R33 onto the R34 Loome. but i see merrit in the way that cam in perth done it.. and to be honest, now after having another conversion in another R33 where the owner wanted to run a Greddy intake, the R33 loome & Computer would have made more sense. as i had to convert it back to R33 idle air control etc, R33 injectors (in this case S15) and just ran it the same.. Things i found were (So definate): R33 s1.5 and on use the same (4 pin maybe) AFM Allot of sensors are the same so i guess you could just change them for R33 units if you were that keen! R34 ECU is definatly a completely different plug. Most of the extra crap in the Neo loome & ECU is for all the electronics the car runs and once you strip it back to basics it is essentially the same as R33.. The real advantage is in the solid lifters etc.. so.. i guess... really what ever takes your fancy... if you are keen on some info, i done some interrior loome pin outs ages back for R33 & R34 (Loome that runs back to the dash etc).. The Neo head technology is really what your after and after you piss off all the extra electronic sensors (for the dash gauges) and the traction control, ABS & Auto inputs if relevant.. it is at the end of the day just an RB25 head with better internals..

just on the topic of Dan's conversion for a minute.. i have played with heaps of RB25's turbo & not and i have found that the plenumn and runners on the R34 neo rb25de to be quiet tiny and restrictive compared to the RB25det.. (Even R33 non turbo).... Anyone else have thoughts on this???

Ideal Power In A R32 Gtst Track Setup Car?
webber replied to CruiseLiner's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I have an non registerable R33 GTST i am building up slowly, It is important to set some goals, have a direction where you want the car to be. I go to Winton every now and then (weather permitting generally) and i would like to get into the 1:30's first time i took the car over there it had the trademark miss that they tend to get and i couldn't give it much stick. Was running Bosch 040, front mount & std boost, i think that day i was in the high 1:4x's. (Havent ran since rectifying problem, only on dirt autocross tracks). Since then i have brought a GT35-40R (xr6t spec) and some S15 injectors, Greddy Plenumn (so i can get to those pesky coils & spark plugs) Trying to find another Pfc for it, and a Z32 Airflow meter, i am going to aim for a conservative 240rwkw combined with some stickey Hoosier Radials, and a koyo 50mm radiator i got off e-bay for under $200 almost new, gates racing hoses & nismo 62* thermostat. most the Cooling is in place just need to get an oil cooler. In my opinion i think that the cooling is very important and i want to take care of all the cooling system first, Then look at modifying the lower control arms and rose jointing (pillow blocking) where they bolt to the sub frame to give camber adjustment, and the same with the radius rod for caster. (i already have tein HA (although i think they are a bit hard they do a decent job) Once that is sorted and i am happy with my tyre wear and handling (combination of both) i will add on the performance mods and get it tuned to my goal power hopefully i will be able to utilise the set-up to reach my time goal. I plan to hit that by the end of this year, i am in no rush. and i think to be an affordable project you have to pay as you go. Don't get into any debt for the sake of a track car. just my 2c worth -
