does your fuel pump cut out? if it does, do the earthing mod, mine used to do it, then i earthed it out permanently (so it runs all the time) and never had the problem again. Skylines have a circuit that reduces voltage to the fuel pump to decrease fuel pump noise at low speed/idle and being the age of the vehicles this system fails, so just as easy to earth the pump so it runs all the time. I am sure if you search it you will find an article. Cheers

yeah i have a dead splitfire that looks like it has almost burst out of it's casing... lol.. i would be checking them, and if not them, your coil-pack loome (where the wires go into the plugs).. cheers

second CAS dead, i once had one snap the shaft where the pin goes through, it would jump in and out of the correct position(well where it broke), pulled it out oneday and it was in 2 parts, but had had it apart a week before and it was together, but it was definatly the problem.

I will actually grab the cut up head over the next few days, and take some pics of the flaws in the top of the water jacket castings, there tend to be high pockets above the exhaust ports, that create hot spots, in an already hot point, he then drills and taps a bleed into that pocket so that there is coolant flowing through that point, and any air is returned. I honestly did not think that they were as obvious/large as they are. (there is a noticeable pocket present). Cheers Guys

On this note, i have a mate with an R31 GTS-X RB20DET that also has an R in the engine number... Whilst on the 'R' 's what does this mean? (Sorry to intrude on your thread, but i have asked before and no-one could help).
