  3. The benchmark for the VE was a 2000 528i-Holden bought one and wanted the VE to equal or better it in every way and they say they have done this...well done Holden you have engineered a car as good as the Germans did 6 years ago
  4. uneven combustion causing hot spots and percusion on the pistons-can be caused by many factors or combination of these-will result in the end of an engine if it continues over time. Warning - an engine can be knocking and you wont detect it with the human ear so always have it tuned correctly by a pro. So many backyarders chuck on a big turbo and other mods then shoot the boost through the roof and drive around without a good safe tune on it-then Ka Boom...wallet deflates
  5. Yep thats the car The sound of that V12 will remain with me forever....... One of these came up for Auction awhile ago in England when I was there and I remeber it sold for 300000 pounds, which seemed to be reasonable but the auctioneer said these engines had to be fully rebuilt every 400-500 klm at a cost of over 50000 pounds ha ha The modern day F1 car doesnt do it for me like those cars

Ha ha-cool Senna is by far the best Ive ever seen in an F1 car ...watching him at Adelaide in 1993 in his last race for mcLaren and his last ever win was amazing...he was on a whole other level compared to the rest of the field. These big slick shod cars were awesome and so was the sound of that amazing sounding F93A Ferrari V12..Pfffhhh these new V8 sound like a council bus in comparison Lets hope RBR and Adrian Newey give Webber the goods next season

  13. Yeah i cant understand the fascination for an RB26 for drifting- I have club sprint raced my GTR's for years and the RB26 is good but when they go BOOOM so does your wallet, and who needs 500hp to drift anyway

  18. This was a regular driven car and I havnt seen to many 8-9sec daily driven supra's around lately I, as Adrian was suggesting that a street car should be just that a regular driven street car-nothing realy to do with legal or not Rob's XA was 502 cu Jack Roush race engine with 3 stages of N2O

Yeah I remember a mate of mine Rob used to drive his 9 sec full weight XA Hardtop GT from Underwood to willowbank(45 min drive) and drive it everywhere during the week-just unload the esky and change the tyre pressures and go run a 9 sec pass-I always thought now thats a 'real' tough street class drag car. I think has best was 9.01@ 152 mp/h from memory, someone was telling me he went 8.99 but I saw 9.01 with my own eyes-ha ha makes a joke of all the trailer queen 11 sec cars- ha ha

  21. I suppose the big mystery with The Toyota deal next year is do Williams get a level 1 spec engine like in the Toyota's or do they get a lower spec engine (same as Ferrari have done with their customer engines)
  22. Yeah I stripped mine to and it was eventually quick Have done some laps now in a 2004 model Porsche cup car- wont be bothering with a GTR anymore (and the 2006 are way better again)

My point was the Porsche's win an amazing amount of Targa type rallies-GTR won 1 and also in 10 years time when Porsche are still making amazing GT3 type cars and smashing all sorts of motorsport , Nissan will be.....ummm.ohhh ....lets see Nissan will be .....ummm doing nothing exept flogging their next fat cat yankee targeted GTR and marketing the next Tiida-good grief

Give me ya mates 04 GT3 cup car and 100k and you wont see which way I went On price you may have an argument-on engineering you have no chance-the Rb26 is still a 20 year old design(it cant even pass current emissions) as is most of the engineering and technology in a GTR-cant compare to current German engineering, and with Nissan's current commitment to great engineered car *cough* and its rock solid commitment to racing*another big cough* Nissan dont even rate on the well engineered list any more
