  1. Thanks Scotty, Ive got spare plugs and tools to change them when i get there, just dont know what to use, Im chasing 280 to 300 rwhp i currently am running BCPR 7ES but i also have BCPR 6ES and BCPR7EY-11. Im only running stock coils and am hoping to run 14-16psi boost after the tune but im not sure if the 1.1mm gap will be to much
  2. Hi Guys, im a newbie to the forum and im just after a little guidance. Ive spent a fair bit of time reading and searching but im just not finding the information i think i need, I have a 1996 s2 gtst, it was stock other then a cheap power spirit turbo, fmic and PowerFC. These were both on it when i bought it. The turbo seems to have the original turbine section but with a new larger compressor housing, there is no compressor play or damage to the fins so i thought id leave it on until it needs to be replaced. I took it to a mates workshop to dyno tune it a few weeks ago but after 6000rpm car started to run lean as it could not provide the fuel required. The car has a supposed 225k on it so i thought if they were genuine ks the fuel pump may be tired So this long weekend i decided to work on it, I installed a new fuel pump GSS342 and new Nismo 555 injectors as well as a z32 afm, Im getting the car tuned tomorrow but i just want the car to be driveable 25km to the dyno I went in to settings 5 on fc edit and changed all 6 injectors to 66.0 which i think means 66%. Please correct me of im wrong, Car started fine but had a rough idle, i gently revved it to 2000rpm and the entire garage was full of grey smoke. I didnt adjust the latency as ive read it should be fine if i leave it, but after the amount of thick smoke that poured out i though id try changing it. I was not to sure where to change the latency. I found in section 5 the box with ign lag ms vs batv, i read somewhere that the stock latency was .70 and the new latency should .18 or .19 but i was unsure what to do. The 12v figure was 0.700 so i changed this to 0.180 and left all other values as they were, thinking that once the car was being driven and charging voltage was 13.5v it may be ok, I started the car and it roared in to life, the rough idle was gone and the smoke had stopped, The car was high idling about 2000rpm as it was stone cold but all else seemed ok, I let the car get up to temperature and bled the coolant and took it for a slow run around the block keeping off boost. Other then taking a few moments to drop thet idle back down when stopping ( would sit at 1500rpm for 2 sec before dropping to 900rpm ) all seemed to be fine. The only issue is a strange smell coming from the car, like bp100 at race track, its not a coolant smell, a fuel fume smell, not even a leaking oil smell. Im a bit puzzled. Worried it may be a little lean now i removed cylinder 1 and 2 plugs for an inspection, both plugs were dry and heavily sooted up around the bottom of the thread but the ground tab at the very top of the plug was a very pale grey, not bright white but far from black Should my car be safe to drive to the tuners 25ks? Have i done something wrong??? Please don’t shoot me down im new to this and learning as i go, Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Cheers Pete
  3. Hi guys, my names pete and im new this is my first post. I recently bought a 96 r33 gtst. It Was running great until a few hours ago. I have decided to make it a dedicated track car. Im a sparky by trade and the first thing i decided to do was tidy all the harness inside the car. It was a real abortion , looks like some clown added every electrical accessory he could then just hacked it all out. In an effort to ensure reliability i decided to remove any obvious redundant after market wiring. I thought start out small, avoid disaster. Like at work i used my phone and took pictures of every thing before i started to ensure reconnection. However when i had finished i had a small brown plug left near the ignition barrel, wire colours are Orange, Black, Black / blue, Red / blue. Not for the life of me can i find where it goes. I checked my phone only to find the images were not stored as the memory card is full eerrrrr....... I connect the battery and decide to see what doesn’t work , as soon as the key is inserted the beeper starts going off. I turn the key to accessories and i get no dash lights, no fuel pump prime, cant use indicators, beeper continues, I turn the key to start and the car cranks strongly but will not fire, still no indicators or dash light and the beeper continues, Its now obvious i have an immobilisation issue, which must be factory as the after market alarm was disconnected and i removed it. I have not disconnected any wires with the work i have done only disconnected a few plugs around the ignition barrel. Does anyone know what the brown plug i referred to earlier is for? Could it be part of the immobiliser circuit. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Pete
