  1. Thanks for the quick reply guys. What I find strange though is that it used to start on queue first time everytime until just recently. I will try to call Nissan and see what they say. nsm034, do you know where I can find more info if any on this R34 recall??
  2. Any of you R34 owners had or have heard of this problem. First some back ground info. I have had my car for about 6 months now, it is a Tiptronic-Auto. Just serviced and also has a new battery. The problem is that I seem to have some difficulty starting the car. This only seems to happen after the car has been running for some time. For example, go for a 15min drive, not really pushing the car. Pull up at a corner shop turning car off, come out a minute later and wham, the car just won't turn over. ( I let the fuel pump churn over everytime I start the car). Any feedback would be appreciated.
  3. Hey Abo Bob. Really Sorry to hear about your ride. You would have been furious? Have you got the thing quoted on yet?
  4. I'm sure it will look even better in the flesh. I'll have to come ova for a visit!!
  5. Check out the HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer. Don't forget to buy the wiring harness. http://www.hks.com.au/
  6. [quote=I've got some more points to consider. As if the r33gtst is not heavy enough, the r34 is much heavier. Although the engine puts out more power, the r34 gtt would be less agile in handling due to the weight. The R34 is by far more agile than a R33. They have a far more agressive turn in and have the real feel of wanting to be thrown into every corner. The steering is much more responsive than a R33. My two cents worth.
  7. I beleive it will. I am yet to exchange my FMIC, but that would be the size I would look at.
  8. Thanks for your info, eharrald and Abo Bob. I will have a closer look at the turbo to check for the Garrett stamp. It would be great to find out via the Fast Program. If you do find any info in FAST I would be interested to know exactly how you found it; what steps you went to through to extract the details. Thanks again.
  9. I own a 00/08 GTXT. Is there any easy way to find out whether my turbo has metal/metal and ball bearing fitted?? I have tried to use the Fast Program but can't seem to find the details. If you can shed some light on the Fast program, it would be appreciated too. If it's any help my car is ER34-040586. Thanks in advance.
  10. I found that thread re: Series 1 and Series 2. I hope it proves to be helpful. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=55235
  11. What year/month is your 34?? If it is a late 2001 (Series 2) onwards you may find that the turbo is metal/metal. There is a detailed thread on this site about the differences between r33-r34. Here it lists a guide on how to find exact details of your car. Hope this helps.
  12. Thanks for the speedy response. I will look into it a little further and see what eventuates. Thanks again Christian. Pete
  13. I am very interested, but nobody appears to be able to give me a straight answer. I have a 2001 R34 GTT. I beleive they would fit?? Are you able to confirm that? Thanks
  14. For the noobs like me out there, what's the tell-tale sign of a failed turbo other than the obvious no boost??
  15. Does anyone have any ideas why on my stock 2001 R34GTXT my exhaust only blows from the left pipe on the muffler? I've tested it and the only time the right one seems to work is at about the 5000rpm mark?? I thought the idea of a turbo exhaust was to have the most amount of air flow?? I can't find any swithes that might change this? Am I risking any damage to my car until my upgraded exhaust is fitted?? Thanks again in advance.
  16. After the recent wet weather in Brizzy, I too will be leaving it on for the time being as a result of a very close call. :zap:
  17. Thanks for the quick reply. Is there any way to re-wire the traction control so that when I start the car that Traction control is already off?? Seems as if everytime I start the car, traction control is already on?
  18. Anyone know what the "SLIP" display on the dash cluster means?? I found it flashing when I turned into a corner at speed and tried accelerating. Problem is that I had no acceleration until the SLIP light stopped flashing after 1 second.Car is a 2001 R34 GTX-T Tiptronic.
  19. Thanks for the follow up Chef_32. You are 100% correct. My car has similar shocks to that of my friends R33 GTR. I will keep your shocks in mind, but as I said before I really have my mind set on Bilstein. Thanks again for the offer though.
  20. Thanks Chef. So from what you're saying Bilstein do make shocks for the R34GTT as they are the same fitting as for the R34GTR? Cause that's my preference at this point, to go Bilstein. Do you know of any part numbers I could throw at people for the front and rear Bilstein for the R34??
  21. I've just landed a 2001 R34 and am attempting to mod the suspension. I have decided to go with King Springs and was trying to get Bilstein shocks as I was advised that stock shocks wouldn't be up to the task. Problem is nobody seems to know whether the R34GTT has the same rear suspension mounts as the GTR?? Apparently Bilstein only make Coil over Springs for the R34, and I didn't want to get that serious. Any ideas.......recommendations??? BTW: BIG THANKS TO PHIL AT www.directimported.com.au for delivering an immaculate car.
