  1. yes but everything else in this thread says you should do the PCV valve as well...
  2. So if the lower port was higher up it would work?
  3. Hi Guys, I want to run a "100% plum back" setup for my new RB25, but the most fittings I can seem to find on a catch can is 3 (seems to always be 1 down low and 2 up high). Would the following set up work? Basically block the hole where the PCV valve goes into the cam cover, then both cam covers run to the catch can by a single hose (regardless of under boost or not). Then one outlet runs back to the plenum (with the PCV Valve put in line) for when the engine is not under boost, and one outlet back to the intake pipe for when it is under boost. I dont see the point in running an extra line from the hole where the PCV value goes into the cover to the catch can, as the air can get back to the catch can via the other line anyway... Cheers, Martin
  4. Anyone know anywhere in brisbane I can buy aluminium pipe and donuts? ARE is closed till the 19th Cheers, Martin
  5. As the title states, is there any way to make an S2 TPS plug into an S1 Loom?
  6. Hi Guys, I bought a pair of R33 GTS-T calipers off ebay a while ago and have just discovered they are both left hand calipers . So if anyone has a single RH caliper they want to sell, or anyone has a pair of RH calipers and wants to do a swap, please let me know. Cheers, Martin
  7. Hi guys, Firstly: I have read the entire thread and tried to understand as much as I can. But I still have some questions. I am putting an RB25DET NEO into my R31 skyline. The engine has been rebuilt. Since it is a new engine into the car I do not know what temps/pressures or AFRs are like to base my viscosity on for the initial oil... So, the car is my daily. That said, I have quite a heavy foot even when driving daily . The car has also seen a bit of track time, and will be seeing quite a lot more with the new engine . Sprint days and the like. I also love a good 'spirited drive' through the mountains. Im in QLD and it can get quite hot up here, but will be running a huge oil cooler with a thermostat, so hopefully the oil temps won't get too hot. I change oil every 5000ks. I have also been doing the filter every change but after reading this thread I am going to start doing it every 2nd change (so 10,000). Also i'm not too worried about cost here, and am much more concerned about getting the right oil. My last two engines have gone due to spun big end bearings so i think forking out for good oil will work out cheaper in the end... First question: I need an oil to run the engine in on. I am told to use a good quality mineral oil for this. But there has not been much discussion on mineral oils in this thread, its all about synth. Whats a good mineral oil to run the engine in on? something like GTX3? Secondly question: What oil to run after the run in? From reading this thread: For Daily - 0w30 or so For track / higher temps - closer to 10w40 or 10w50. But what about in my case, where it sees a bit of both? I am hoping that due to the oil cooler the temps wont get too bad so I can still use around the 0w30 range? And then, what brand/etc. From reading this thread it seems Group V is what everyone loves. And motul 300V is recommended a lot... but on R31 skyline club there is this: "motul no good, run it before in my car, one track day and its toast. Not just my engine, seen plenty of Rb's and Sr's run on it with same results with both fresh and old motors. Motul seems to be a lot of hype" "That is the problem with a full double ester oil, shears too quick. Not that it is a bad oil, I use a blend of two different 300v weights, granted the oil lasts a short time but it does its job well." What are the oil experts opinions on this? Will Redline have the same problem as it is also Group V (but not sure about this double ester thing)? So at this stage I am leaning towards Redline... probably 5w30 unless I'm told otherwise. It works out stupidly expensive (currently $25/L off performancelub, despite quotes of it being much cheaper a while ago in this thread ), but if it's the right choice thats OK. Or am i completely off track? Thanks, Martin
  8. Thanks guys, I will think about that group buy, but I was hoping to get away with less than that . Oh well
  9. Hi guys, Does anyone know if I can use an RB26 Harmonic Balancer (from an R32 GTR) on an R34 RB25DET NEO engine? The neo balancer I have looks pretty wrecked (chipped, etc) and I can get my hands on a 26 one easily. Cheers, Martin
  10. Wanted a Set of lifting hooks for an RB25DET. Preferably NEO ones but 33 ones will do. Will pay post. Cheers, Martin
  11. Item: MicroTech LT-8 Aftermarket ECU Age: Unknown Condition: VGC Price: $800 ONO To Fit: Tuned for RB20DET Redtop NICS, can be retuned Location: Brisbane, will post Contact: PM or reply here, or email smity42<at>iinet.net.au, or 0421 809 268 Comments: Comes with Hand controller, laptop cable, user manual, and loom for RB20DET Redtop NICS, but it looks like some of the connectors have been cut off. But who wants a NICS anyway? The plugs that connect to the ECU are there so you can make a new loom for another engine. Open to offers.
  12. PWND, thanks for the offer but I would need to redrill to 4 stud, so a borrow probably isnt going to work. tuff33, I'll keep it in mind, but i was planning to buy new slotted after I confirm I can get them to fit, so might wait and see if i anyone else has any old ones
  13. Hi guys, Im after a rotor (or pair) off an R33 GTS-T (Front) to test fit to my HR31. Doesnt need to be actually any good, I just need to check LCA clearances and the like. PM or reply here if you can help me out (ie if you've just got new ones or something). Cheers, Martin

Location: Brisbane, QLD Contact: PM or call/sms 0421 809 268 Comments: Bought this to fit to my HR31 but gave up on the idea as its too much like hard work. I do not know the kms but was told when I bought it that it was nearly new and low kms. I have no way to power it on to confirm it but.
  18. I am definitely keen on the diff but I need one with a 3.9 ratio. Can you check the build plate as it is usually indicated their what diff ratio it has. This example from an R31 skyline has a 4.3 ratio: Failing that, I am told that 88-89 model Non Turbos had the 3.9 ratio. Does your car fit this bill? Cheers, Martin
  19. what ratio is the diff?
  20. bump. need lines by saturday. No wrecking a 32 or got a half cut lying around?
