  1. sweeet, is it series I or II? i'm waiting till the price drops a bit more on sII manuals before importing but i'm pretty keen to get into a chaser some time soon. so how long till the mods start...?
  2. i fink it mite be diff kit btween 33 gts-t an 33 gtr bro
  3. 1 - search 2 - you get what you pay for 3 - search 4 - should last for as long as you own the car, stainless is ultimately for looks IMO 5 - I installed an all in one front & dump and hi flow cat (from BATMBL on this forum) as one of the very first mods i did to my 33, it is definately worth doing. Went for mild steel as i'm not huge on the "bling" and although in retrospect i'd go for the split pipe, there were good gains to be made with the combined front & dump. go for it mate
  4. should definately be able to get that fixed mate, make sue you check that nothing else got bent when you hit the gutter too. if you want to get rid of the rims though, pm me.
  5. list your other mods
  6. do you think i'd be able to get that same induction noise if i stuck a pod on my stock r33? awesome vid
  7. does that sign in the back ground of the first pick say "DANGER - FLAMMABLE LIQUORS" ? is it possible the convertible idea may have been conceived whilst indulging in these liquors...? regardless, nice smoke
  8. i find this site helpful to find out model differences etc. http://www.alljapanesecars.com/viewmd.php3...Skyline%20Sedan
  9. i gotst me one i think a lot of them in this colour are two tone, like yours. love this blue, prob my fav skyline colour (maybe equal with midnight purple) there is another dark blue that is a little bit purpley too, not as good.
  10. anyone got a light?
  11. interested in part swap + cash?
  12. very, very knowledgable member. has been around for a long time patiently dispensing advice to anyone who asks, no probs with trusting this bloke. also check his trader ratings, should give you some idea. ps- anyone else think that SK actually started a new user name and posted this thread to add to his resume?
  13. ok, well you said that an "r33 with a 1jz" is "essentially a supra"... its not. its actually essentially an r33 with a 1jz. presuming we're talking about a 94/95 supra (in line with the discussion), it never came with a 1jz (came with either 2jz-gte twin turbo or 2jz-ge NA)
  14. err, not quite
  15. from what i know (please correct me if you disagree) turbos in the 1jz will handle ~16psi reliably turbo in the rb25 will handle ~12psi reliably 1jz stock bottom end will handle in excess of 300kw rb25 stock bottom end limit is around 280-300 for very similar mods, you will extract more power from the toyota and it will be stronger, although 1jz in an auto soarer isn't particularly inspiring in my opinion. but in manual chaser format... as much as i love nissans, you gotta respect the strength of the toyota. having said all that, if given the choice of a soarer or a skyline, i'd take the skyline any day of the week. continue debate
  16. reputable or not, i would still take it back and tell them what is going on. it isn't possible to simulate all road conditions while tuning on a dyno, so although the tune may be safe on the dyno, it might still need a touch up. the longer you leave it knocking, the more likely it is you're doing damage to the engine topaz - ticking may be lifters? try a search
  17. love my avcr and its wanky-arse blue screen. heard great things about blitz id-III's too
  18. i can fit two golf bags and two buggys in the boot of my 33 coupe
  19. where did you get the pfc tuned? if you are recording high enough knock levels for the engine light to flash, I'd definately take it back to your tuner.
  20. what boost controller are you running? and at what boost level?
  21. i'd be very careful when leaking and driving, you don't want to miss the bottle and get piss all over your car sorry, just saw the title and couldn't help myself. in regards to the leaking, i found a leaking coolant line and replaced it in my 33. if you have just bought the car from a dealer, i would definately take it straight back to them and make them find the problem and fix it.
  22. "yeah, pretty good" haha. looks amazing, lucky bastard!
  23. i didn't come up with it - cheers mate, all the best
  24. lmao, kinda makes me wanna sign up now...
  25. research how much power people here are running on stock rb25's. it's possible 280-300kw may not last you very long at all, let alone 330kw. comparing a bmw inline 6 race engine (for it to have 500hp, i'd suggest just a little work may have been done to it) with a stock rb25 is not relative. saying that because they have the same displacement and capacity so therefore they are comparable, is kinda like me saying i have two arms and legs so therefore would be able to hold my own in a boxing ring with mike tyson. my suggestion would be to go and get a professional tune, and have a chat with a tuner who really knows the limits of your engine and setup. the couple of hundred bucks could save you a lot of money and pain in the long run.
