  2. Let's see where can i rob an r32 speedo cable from that's close to my car................
  3. Lol my speedo cable is broken so that might have something to do with it
  4. I meant to say before, you don't need a very big core for the p/s. Something around the size I have should be plenty.
  5. Yeah just mounted there passenger side in front of the radiator. My oil cooler setup is a bit different in that it sits inside my radiator end tank (water to oil), so the radiator coolant takes on the heat from the oil and dissipates through the radiator core. You can see the fittings on the back of the end tank in one of the shots. Bit of an experiment, and with some recently added ducting is working very well.
  6. I know standard the 32's increase pressure at low speed so you get a lighter wheel. 80kmh I believe the pressure is dropped to give firmer steering. Was speaking with a guy at Sandown and he said there is a wire that can be cut to the HICAS ecu that will trick it into thinking the rear pump has pressure. I just have the bulb removed at the moment but the HICAS computer would be going into limp at start up. Wondering if that would give us our higher pressure at low speed back...
  7. Sounds like a good plan of attack Evan, see mine here: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/328473-pauls-r32-gtr-tarmac-build/page-9#entry6808285
  8. Yeah I have done the same, completely taken all the rear HICAS gear, pump lines etc out, so I only have the front rack, lines pump and reservoir with my cooler plumbed into the rear (low pressure) stage of the pump. That extra hose you had on was that on the high pressure stage of the pump? I think that gets up to some crazy pressure - I had to use the full on high pressure speedflow gear to replace a section of the high pressure line.
  9. I have a little PWR core plumbed into the rear stage of the p/s pump and I think the temps are under control, I don't get any out the top of the reservoir like all the other GTR's I see. I think Troy might be on to something there. I did get a bit of squealing on start up before one of the sessions. It's not really obvious the change, sometimes you are not sure if it is just in your head lol - will see if the belt needs a nip up.
  10. Yeah steering is quite heavy - still factory, I think because of messing with the HICAS it no longer lightens up at lower speed. It also seems a bit variable - seems to get quite heavy for no obvious reason. Just watched an EPAS vid would be a nice solution for sure. Could definitely cut down some weight there getting rid of the reservoir & pump etc. And yeah itching to have a crack at PI with it, will be good fun!

  12. Cheers. Got a touch more weight I can take out here and there. Compliance intrusion bars being an obvious one, could also do carbon / glass boot lid and wing. Don't need the passenger seat & mount either. Hence why I reckon an 18 would be achievable with a few tweaks. Can see time in my driving as well, but you know... always good to leave a bit of fat make sure you bring it home in one piece! There would be some easy time had in moving away from the stock diffs and modifying the transfer case but happy to get there on a standard drive line from the gearbox on for now. For sure will let you know re: track art.
  13. Nah just air escaping around the sides and top and not passing through the radiator. More is now forced through the radiator. Can definitely improve further with some proper alloy ducting, would probably just want to knock another 5 or so degrees off max water temp, oil was happy around 100-110c. The ducting would bring both down a touch.
  14. Yeah great day and well run - got great track time. Great SAU turnout as well including those rocking up for a chat - best I have seen. Definitely good to get garages in one spot. That steak Ash.... dayum!
  15. Sandown yesterday, cracked into the 19's. Can certainly see more time in there too which is good - particularly around the sweeper (and fixing the ABS issues!). Put some high density foam around the radiator which works a treat, big difference. Could keep going for the entire session with water temps not getting any higher than 90c and good oil temps. Going to get trackart / Andrew to make up some proper alloy ducting and it should be good all year round. So I am happy with the oil cooler sitting in the radiator end tank - seems like a good solution and easy / tidy from a packaging perspective.
  16. You could probably go a touch closer in maybe garage 22 or 23 or so for the SAU/bbq one. Looks about the sweet spot
  17. I usually go as close to garage 10 as possible (starts @ #1 furthest away from the track entry) - keeps you away from the staging area mayhem. Most SAU'ers were down the other end to me last track day so there may be a preference?
  18. So we should all try and get garages near each other this time - is SAU getting a garage this time again? Let us know which number to aim for.
