  1. Sorry to hear that Kaido GTR turbos are not something I will ever do second hand!! So painful to change - not like FF and smaller capacity single turbo cars where you can change a turbo over in 30mins.
  2. I am actually getting right into it and I basically never play games these days. PS3 came with my TV and GT5 prologue is the only other game I have which didn't get much use. Take a break from work every hour or two and go do a few races! Yeah good call. I was looking at the collectors edition in JB - extra $50 for a theme and a few more car variations or something.
  3. Picked it up today and played for a few hours. Got it from JB for $77 - was pretty surprised was expecting closer to $100. The menu interface is a bit annoying as usual, slow loading times between screens. Seems a little unpolished but gets the job done. Licenses are pretty much same as usual - have only bothered with the first few for now. Started with an S13 CA18DET silvia - oil warning light was on for my first race so gave it an engine rebuild. The mods are pretty reminiscent of GT1/2/3/4 not a heap of options. Its now heaps of fun to drive though after setting up the suspension and getting some more grunt. Have been through the beginner and started amateur A-spec races. Was pretty dark when I realised you don't get interiors for the "standard" cars. Have not bought a "premium" car as yet. The go karts in special events area are heaps of fun. Also went for a fang around the Nurburgring in a '54 300 SL which was great fun from the interior view. I think its going to be a case of loving half of it where all the new detail is, and just same old GT for the other half.
  4. I would be very wary of starting the engine if there is knock coming from under there It's a bit painful but are you able to take the cam gear cover off and make sure the timing belt is looking ok? Very hard to diagnose over the internet but maybe a fraying timing belt whipping around might cause something like the sound you are describing. I would be checking all the critical things first before proceeding.
  5. Excellent build up. Love the vented valley cover - engine bay is looking schmick.
  6. 1. No - the turbo is overboosting, the boost sensor (MAP sensor) is just telling the ECU what it is seeing, and the ECU is cutting the engine out. By disconnecting the boost sensor you are just tricking the ECU so it can't see how much boost the turbo is producing. The overboost is the problem - not the sensors / ECU. 2. Yes - only drive like an old lady until you have it fixed - your turbo is boosting way above what it is meant to, you risk leaning out your engine and blowing it and / or blowing your turbo from overspeed 3. Depends what is causing the problem. You should be able to get the wastegate working correctly again - based on what people above have suggested (ensure lines to wastegate actuator are not split / leaking, ensure wastegate on turbine housing is not hitting dump pipe etc). If you have heaps of oil in the intake pipe this could either be from a leak on the compressor side of the turbo, or it could be carbon build up from blow by / crankcase breather. You will be able to see a leaking compressor easily by taking the pipe off the compressor intake - the wheel will literally be sitting in oil. You would also be getting heaps of blue smoke out the exhaust.
  7. Hmm yeah still not really understanding what part of the car is bent - if it's just the chassis then it wouldn't stop you from clearing a defect. If the rear wheels are completely out of alignment because the suspension arms or subframe is bent, or the suspension towers are out of alignment due to a bent chassis then maybe that's it. Can you take a photo of what is bent?
  8. What do they mean by "both back chassis" ? Do they mean the chassis and the rear subframe? Was the car in some kind of accident?
  9. Yeah there are fuses that can handle the starter or a winch, but still sensitive enough to blow in the case of a direct short. This is what I am using for +ve battery terminal with its specific "cal2" fuse built in: http://www.projecta.com.au/catalogue/cid/35/asset_id/84
  10. Yep R32 and R33 were all black with painted black inlet plenum, R34's were red with unpainted plenum, R34 Nur's (slightly changed N1 motor) have the jade / gold whatever it is
  11. Shell is almost all stripped, fuel tank is out. Once the new quarter panel arrives and is welded on the front and rear subframes are coming off and it's going on the rotisserie.
  12. Love it well done guys. I take it all those extra bars Adam had installed are helping with the confidence to keep the pace up!
  13. Is that someone sitting on your skyline?
  14. None of this matters anyway! He had a responsibility to ensure he was fulfilling his end of the contract (i.e. check the goods) before sending on - that way he could be sure where the damage occurred and rectify issues if required. You fulfilled your end of the contract by paying for the goods. Everything was out of your control... so it is for him to take back the goods, give you back your money and follow up with the courier for compensation. Anyway - you can tell a good business by the way they behave in situations like this. Treat your customers this way and you are destined for failure - surely if he acted in a suitable manner BWRGTR would become / stay a repeat customer and recommend him to others.
  15. Man I honestly think you are completely in the right here. Consumer law in this country backs you - goods are not as advertised. Get on the phone! His policy implies that you should be given a refund / credit note.
  16. Mate I had the exact same thing done to mine years ago - punched a little hole in the door like yours. I only just got it welded back up had it covered with tape for years.
  17. I just spotted your car in kew mate with gold wheels - looks absolutely amazing.
  18. Is it definitely on the same profile - from memory you have both A and B modes for multiple boost settings?
  19. Would love to have but the same panel is rusted through at the seam around the boot jamb, rear windscreen, drivers door jamb and the wheel well - this was the last straw! There are also a few other spots that are starting to show a little but we won't be able to see the extent until it comes off.
  20. Well at least it was a Nissan Skylight and not a Skyline... reputation save.

Such a sad story... turned out ok but still one less gtr in the world. Did claiming through your own insurance have much affect on your premium? Thats what would really get me annoyed. I guess your insurance is pursuing what they can from the transport company?
  22. Mick found this little surprise on the rear drivers quarter under the sideskirt. Previous repair from its life back in Japan was a little shonky wasn't really sealed up properly there is rust pretty much all over it. Not worth repairing so a new quarter has been ordered from nissan. Otherwise not much. Have ordered a new brake booster & master cyl, cluctch master cyl and a few other bits that are past it.
  23. Sounds interesting. Try opening the bmp in Microsoft Paint, then go to the File menu > Save As - save window will show up, change the "Save as type" drop down menu to "Jpeg" - save it somewhere like My Documents and try uploading your newly created .jpg version.
  24. Very nice - I love the 240's - my ultimate datsun. Have wanted to do an rb26 240 for a long long time
