  1. Very nice mate - not far off doing something similar. Did you import it yourself? I take it it's in pristine condition throughout? Still remember the first time I saw one of these in the flesh - bayside blue - could not believe my eyes at how cool it was.
  2. Been getting a few quotes on some motorsport tyres for an 18x9.5 rim: Dunlop DZ03G 265/35/18 = $655 per tyre Bridgestone RE55S 265/35/18 = $595 per tyre For someone just coming to grips with motorsport tyre pricing how do these sound? The new Federal FZ-201's are not available in 18" rim sizes as yet unfortunately.
  3. Got any pics of the bay and underneath / chassis rails?
  4. Did a test fit up of the drivers seat with the mounting bracket and my helmet on. Bad news is the mounting bracket isn't quite right - just a tad off center with the steering wheel to the window side. Meridian are going to make a few tweaks to get it sitting where I want it, and by raising the front a little will give my girlfriend a bit of extra height when the seat is slid forward. Good news is I fit! The double diagonal cross in the roof is well out of the way my head sits up in the void perfectly. With the seat a little off center I am very close to the other bar but once the new bracket is in it will be spot on.
  5. Ha yes I think we might see some rather spectacular off's for THC compared to the usual Tassie ditches, slight hills and field plouging - although upside down in a barn will still remain my favorite. Lets hope everyones safety gear is well in check - there are comments every snow trip how dangerous those roads are.
  6. Sounds like a good idea MrPing. Don't let MrEps get you down - he is just frustrated because he drives a toyota too often and is taking it out on you.
  7. Mate that vid makes me scared! Starting to think I need my head read building a tarmac rally car..... naaaah
  8. haha hear chris at 1:52
  9. Alright well that is me down.
  10. VHT wrinkle is the paint you are looking for
  11. Is the silicon hose kit one of the ones off ebay? I bought a set of these but have been advised not to use them... apparently they have a little trouble actually keeping the water inside the hose. I am just going genuine and keeping the kit around as spares.
  12. This is however a Getrag - different to our R32 / R33 5-speeds. Seeing that is uses ATF instead in the gearbox instead of gear oil it is conceivable that the Getrag has a connection between the two. Maybe PM someone like Snowman - I know he has dealt with the 6-speeds.
  13. What guage positive battery cable did you use putting the battery in the back Ben? I've got some 2/0 sitting here and its so bloody heavy and unworkable I was thinking about dropping back to 1/0.
  14. digiporting : Using your digits to feel the mismatch between a cylinder head and a manifold
  15. Hey Mark would you be able to do the 32GB RadCam HDPro Rally Pack as part of this? How much? I want the whole box and dice.
  16. You 100% sure about that? the transfer should have auto-transmission fluid in it..
  17. Sorry if you have already covered this - but what sort of tyres are you going to be running? Full slicks or semi's ?
  18. This is true... was thinking it would be a killer to setup. Hotwire AFM's are not a restriction like the crappy old flappy ones used to be, so other than maybe simpler intake packaging I don't see the appeal with going MAP. AFM's will also respond to flow changes in intake and exhaust - always good to be tuning after any change but in general I think AFM's are a much more flexible solution.
  19. There is a support that attaches there. See my pic of the standard dumps here - they have the same tapped hole
  20. Good. Would have thought a numbering system was a pretty obvious freeway feature........ Annoying in vic on the freeways when the sign says a different road to the cross road, you only realise you missed your exit when you see the little sign on the bridge telling you what cross road it is
  21. This is good to know guys will make sure I end up with the same deal. Everything I have is with Shannons already too - they have been great.
  22. I'm guessing Justcars under a normal insurance arrangement would only pay out half what the actual replacement value of the car is? I doubt you could cost effectively have it covered at an event, only for fire, theft or damage in your garage or on the trailer on the way to an event.
