  1. This story ends happily..... managed to find the problem last night, one of the 40 thousand wires in behind my head unit / aircon / guages was obviously shorting somewhere, pulled that apart and tightened up all plugs and re-arranged the wires and bingo - no more popped fuse. Whent the $%&$ broke in they must have had a play around.... never trust reservoir, melbourne.
  2. Thanks guys. Someone also broke into the car recently and pulled out the ashtray to, i assume, get to the head unit. Maybe theyve pulled on the wires there and thats caused something. Actually, on a reasonably hot day recently, my alarm went off twice for no reason - never done this before. This was around the same few days that the problem happened. Bring on the pain - time to fire up that freakin' multi-meter and get my electrical tape out
  3. Annoying problem, my R32 GTR dash and rear light fuse keeps blowing. Pulled out the existing and swapped in a new 10A fuse, blew it straight away. Anyone have any ideas as to what would cause this? Would a short circuit somewhere cause this to happen? My alarm was installed reasonably recently so there has been someone in there playing around with wires Incidentally, I also noticed that for the starter signal fuse there is a 15A instead of the 10A on the diagram, and a 20A for the hazard lights instead of 10A.
  4. Blitz - what do you think of that nismo clutch now after a number of weeks of use?
  5. In my R32 GTR I managed 660km's / tank driving from Melbourne to Bowral - probably would have made it further if it was not for those damn hills at the end of the trip. Was specifically trying to make it on one tank so I was watching my throttle sitting on 100 all the way. Pretty good considering my o2 sensors are probably nearing the end of their life.
  6. A mate owns a B4, has had a few things done like ecu remap to try and minimize the flat spot. Have looked at the dyno charts and it is still there - just more power all round. Funny thing is in stock form he had to get the engine rebuilt after just 10,000 k's - big end bearing. The guy at Subaru docklands said he was under the impression that they had not been de-tuned very well for our fuel. Also had to get the gearbox rebuilt after smashing a syncro not too long after that. Other mate has a 98 WRX - 40,000 k's following a decent track day out at winton saw a gudgeon pin fail - out came the engine for a full rebuild, also got the gearbox and clutch done at the same time. He does drive it pretty hard, and John Bowe gave it a good fang around the track that day - but once again not good news for suby warranty claims dept. Still love the rexies, but I am way happier with the over engineered gtr in the driveway.
  7. I would say for certain that it would be better to run the engine in before PFC/injectors+dyno. What car is it - 33 GTS25t ?
  8. c'mon people!! I want some of these pipes!!
  9. Yeah - would be a pain to get a crack in the pipe after completing the pr!ck of a job to get them on. I am going in on the group buy for the trust front pipes - was thinking if they dont come with the flex join I will just get one put in.
  10. How about the flex join? Is that important in GTR's as most aftermarket jobbies have that flex for the front turbo.
  11. Almost a little ford focus with the headlights now I think about it.
  12. Will these bolt onto the standard R32 GTR turbos ? How about the cat at the other end? If so put me down for a set - should be in perfect time for my next trip out to Racepace.
  13. All exhaust shops that do custom work would have the bungs for the oxygen sensors. I wouldnt want to give you the wrong size but I think they are usually 18mm x 1.5mm thread - this is only from memory so dont take it as gospel - last time I was screwing around with oxy sensors was about 2yrs ago. Edit: yeah should be M18 x 1.5 (Metric Thread)
  14. Car now also has full security system / immobilisers / remote entry professionally installed
  15. Poor Toyota fans are probably going through the same thing we have been over the past 12-24 months with all the ugly GT-R concepts floating around. I really like the look of that Infinity though - hybrid 4wd system!! Thing is gonna weigh a bit.
  16. Yeah looks like a really nice car. Image of rear end of mine - badge on top left corner of bootlid. It probably would not be too hard to remove the badge and clean up the goo - so I would say that is what has happened - kinda looks better I think anyway.
  17. One thing I just noticed that you might want to check out is the factory Nissan badge is missing from the bootlid - respray or just badging?
  18. Yep same here. Always get front torque - full 50 in the wet!
  19. sorry mate - sounds like a beast but after the $ to go o/s
  20. still for sale - beautiful car
  21. Yes I do hear the DING, DING, DING, but the circle indicates 180kmh...
  22. My gawd I thought it was something wrong with my speedo or something. I had a suspicion that it was a speed warning as it always comes on at the same speed - a ticking sound - but it seems inconsistent - seems to have stopped now. Kills you when driving long distance in 110k zones - just have to turn up the stereo.
